  1. I for one hope there is a way to get the games going this year. Maybe have to be a "shortened" season, 6-7 regular season games and just call it a season and start post season on originally intended dates? I just hoping this is a "once in a lifetime" situation, not a thing that needs to be done every year or a few years. I'm sure that is feeling of most??
  2. When was last time updated? You may be right, I think things are still fluid now and can still change.
  3. I thought I heard just spring sport/athletes were granted that??
  4. Chances are the season will be cancelled, Hate to say it, but I'm hearing school will not be back in season the rest of the year and the stay at home edict will likely be extended until end of May at the earliest.
  5. I think I heard Powlus has stopped playing football and is concentrating on baseball
  6. in 1973, the IHSAA began a playoff system. A points system was used to qualify for the playoffs, but with only twelve schools advancing (four teams in three classes), many one-loss and even undefeated teams never got the chance to play for a state title. Even though the playoffs were doubled to 24 teams in 1976 and again to 48 in 1981, the system still needed some tweaking. This came in the form of the clusters in 1983. Every team in the state was put into groups of four to six teams...whichever won their cluster advanced to the postseason. Now every team had a shot. It made sense. But there were some flaws to this method, also. The major drawback was that a team could win their cluster with a 4-0 record, yet finish 4-6 overall and make the playoffs, while a team that finished second in the cluster at 3-1 could finish 9-1 overall, but be left out in the cold.
  7. 1992 Snider team that was ranked #11 in nation is probably in top 5 ever for the state of Indiana??
  8. Crazy game it was. He was really good, is he still at U Indy and does he play??
  9. I bit earlier than the 70's, Snider gave up 39 total points in 1966.
  10. Demon Moore, junior to be at FW Snider has offers from IU, PU and Mizzery.
  11. Well, for me as a fan had to be Snider vs New Pal in the 5A title game in 2015. Snider pours it on in first half and New Pal answers in second half. I really thought Snider would lose that game. Second favorite game, 1986 Snider vs Carmel, one heck of a matchup, I loved watching Dunbar run the seasons he played.
  12. I would hope so. High school football is the best !! I'm guessing we will know more about this and the whole school situation before the end of week of 4-5.
  13. Well, then you please tell Michelle to retract her "7 Education Initiatives"
  14. I'm saying the public school systems should have full support from the state and federal level.
  15. Ha, yes. High school sports contraction will not be high on the list. I will say, maybe some of the "lesser" sports could be targeted. I would think football, basketball and baseball would be the last to go. Public schools will continue to face financial challenges for years to come, especially if Indiana follows and continue on with the Daniels/Bennett & Pence model.
  16. This flu strain will cause a lot of changes in society; business, finance education, health care etc. Their will be contraction in a lot of things.
  17. I would think this is including summer months. There is roughly 9 weeks of school left in most areas with spring break, then 8 or 9 weeks of summer break. So i do think there is good chance they first close it down for the year and start in mid/late August. My wife is a 4th grade teacher and it is difficult to know what will happen after the next 4 weeks. There are 3 weeks till spring break, so my girl in PHM was first told 2 weeks, but I'm hearing now the soonest will be week after spring break, 4-13. The problem with some districts don't yet have e-learning, so that will pretty much equal free pass to students that don't have, will be to hard to enforce if or if they don't do work.
  18. I respect your opinion. I agree that the CDC and WHO would be best provider of info.
  19. Yeah, I was meaning media as all inclusive; news on TV, internet, social, etc.
  20. You may be missing my point. I didn't say the CDC was overreacting, I did so precautions are a good idea. And I didn't say anything about media imploring people to stock up. The constant media coverage and is leading people to go out and hoard food and essentials, IMO. I guess since most things are at a stand still they need something to report on. The biggest pandemic in modern times did not cause this massive hysteria.
  21. No travel for me till at least the first of April. Traveling salesman as they say. Glad I postponed trip to the left coast.
