  1. I should have clarified, I'm in the South Bend/Mishawaka/Elkhart Tri-plex metro area.
  2. Rutgers team is quarantined I heard. I'm also hearing possible delay in start of school year for area district(s)?? There may be some news this week.
  3. Ha, probably is most things are turning into "slippery slopes" nowadays, too hard to take a stand one way or the other.
  4. Yes, if the local "barneys" cant protect the public and businesses.
  5. Yes,, I did. Just enforcing my thoughts om subject. Here is another good piece of info on the subject. PORTLAND, Ore. — A federal judge in Portland on Friday rejected Oregon’s legal bid to restrict the operations of federal agents who have been battling protesters nightly in the city. The lawsuit by Oregon’s attorney general, Ellen Rosenblum, argued that the operations of federal authorities, who were using unmarked vehicles to drive around downtown Portland and detain protesters, resembled abductions. It called on the court to order the agents to stop arresting individuals without probable cause and to clearly identify themselves and their agency before detaining or arresting “any person off the streets in Oregon.” In his ruling, Judge Michael W. Mosman of the U.S. District Court in Portland said the attorney general’s office did not have standing to bring the case because it had not shown that the issue was “an interest that is specific to the state itself.” “I find the State of Oregon lacks standing here and therefore deny its request for a temporary restraining order,” the judge wrote in his ruling. “I am quite disappointed,” Ms. Rosenblum said in an interview. “If I don’t have standing, I’m not quite sure who does.” A number of other lawsuits have been filed by private parties against the presence of the federal agents, and Ms. Rosenblum said she hoped they would be more successful.
  6. You mess with Federal property and the local police won't take care of, then the Fed's move in. Nothing wrong with that in my book.
  7. I feel the Covid number is probably lower, just don't believe states accurately counted deaths casued by Covid.
  8. I agree, but seems that is not case from what I've heard. I'm sure this situation is very fluid and changing so hopefully they have better definition of what happens in future.
  9. When is scheduled first day of school for students for SB Schools.??
  10. I heard about the NEA statement. The school board has not yet approved delay in school starting or all virtual learning, per my sources at this time
  11. So, just wondering, IF there is football in what, a little less than 5 weeks, are refs required to wear masks??
  12. Practice is on hold for this week, per SB Trib
  13. John Glenn player test positive for the Rona, practice suspended for a week per WSBT
  14. Though a vaccine may be available late this year/early 21, it will take months to get made and distributed. The whole world needs, not just the U.S.
  15. So yeah, I think you are asking why not just have he positive ones sit out for a time period and keep practicing with the next player up. Maybe they are waiting on test results from other players to make sure it didn't spread, so all have to sit out??
  16. Good question. Maybe if team "X" has any number test positive, they have to sit out for week or two and team just has to use next player up in practice and game??
  17. Yeah that is what I thought, that is different from high school club sports. AAU is more of a business while school club sports are pretty much none profit.
  18. IU football suspends practice, 6 positive tests
  19. Is that club sport through a high school or are will talking like AAU basketball club type or a summer football 7's or something similar?? I'm referencing school club sports.
  20. What do you mean by "because of the almighty dollar"?? Club sports from the ones I'm involved in are funded by the parents.
  21. IMO, the management of the virus is better in the "general public" but when it comes down to schools and sports it will be different. The pressure is on to try to get back to some form of normal, but the isolated outbreaks (possibly more wide spread) that will happen will become unmanageable and they will have to re-consider what to do. How can you social distance, enforce mask and other things while in school and extra curricular activities?? They already shut down competition band and schools are getting hit with this virus in conditioning practices in past week or two. There is no solid plan from most school districts or state, they keep announcing adjustments every week, That tells me they do not know what to do with school attendance, sports, and other things to go back to how it was (normal is gone). Again JMO . The big question is this a local or state decision? I'm leaning to local district vs state, and that is what I hear from the inside.
  22. I know my info is correct, but no reason to rehash. Wish him well, from what I've heard he is good athlete, always like to see kids get second chance, succeed and have opportunity to move on.
