  1. Yeah, club sports have way more flexibility than "sanctioned" sports. If Football gets cancelled or pushed back, could be a mad dash to rugby in fall !! From what I understand, if there is virtual learning, in part or whole, there still can be rugby.
  2. Concord has suspended practice till July 27th I've heard due to a coach having the Rona.
  3. Taylor was dismissed from program I believe for an off field conduct issue if I recall correctly.
  4. I think that is only way one could work for Sears IMIRITE??
  5. I think a college can "pull" an offer. Nothing is final until you sign on the dotted line.
  6. So my wife has option to go to room and teach or be a "virtual" teacher. In reviewing the info sent out by the school district they state if teacher elects to be a virtual teacher this year, there is no guarantee they will get the same position and/or school for the following year. So I think she will likely go back to in room teaching. I heard Elkhart district is doing a two day in school and then three day virtual or all week virtual, 5 days in room is not being considered at this time.
  7. I think the "cancel culture" needs to be canceled, bunch of Snowflakes.
  8. I will add, some 5A/6A teams that have a better/deeper program would likely travel wherever. Smaller (public) schools may want to stay within the smaller geographic area for OOC games
  9. I would think travel, distance, cost and fan following may play into this. Maybe a team would rather play another team 2-3 classes in OCC below them that is within 10-20 miles, vs travel of 60-80 miles to play same or similar class. I think in future with costs and budgets, closer travel will be preferred.
  10. Clinton schools and Frankfort are within 15 miles of each other, so a case of neighborhood rivalry. It looks like. Clinton Central has beaten Frankfort last two years and Clinton Prairie has beating Clinton Central 3 of past 5 years. Shame on Frankfort, looks like they need to step it up a bit LOL!!
  11. South Bend NEA is not supporting in class/in person teaching. They are supporting virtual.
  12. Reduce spending, funniest thing I've heard all day !! Standard democratic model, give people the means so they keep voting you in office. Taxes feed entitlements.
  13. I would suspend until April, with limited type schedule, then playoffs. Hope is a vaccine will be ready first of 2021, so that would give around 90 days to get the vaccine into the public. Maybe a 5-6 game regular season the some form of playoffs, be it full or partial?? i too don't think a "normal" season will happen.
  14. Well, obviously you are challenged by simple math. Your source states 135,838 deaths. If you divide that by your population figure of 331 million, that equals a death rate of less than 0.5%
  15. That is fake news. There is not a 9% death rate. You have incorrect information or you are trying to spread more fear.
  16. I've said this in other posts, I really doubt this season will happen. I can see two things happening; - They start season and school, after a few weeks, plug is pulled due to overall management issues of the situation. - They cancel fall season, and try to start in late Feb/early March with a condensed season. I doubt a full season as we have seen in past will happen. Schools are evaluating student options as we speak, highly likely school year will be modified and that will affect sports schedule.
  17. I know, they still need to be considered year in and year out. In past it seemed they just needed to watch out for 1 or 2 teams (Dwenger and usually one other, Luers typically) The SAC has become more competitive with Homestead and Carroll, so they have a few more gunning for them every year. You know as well as I, they are usually the team with the bullseye on their back year in and year out in the SAC, they are the team people want to beat.
  18. I've heard that Luke Haupert has a good chance of being starting QB. He is a sophomore, so we will see if me gets the call. I've also read they have 3-4 D players that are doing really well at camps this summer, so maybe they will surprise teams this year.
  19. I'm not so sure Trump will win so I not going to put myself in possible position of supporting something I don't believe in.
  20. I'll consider your bet, if you want to donate to the GID? I'll even give my donation if I lose beat, plus my booster amount. I will not donate to planned parenthood for obviously reasons and not to BLM, their main drive is not about black lives.
  21. Hope there is some form of games and tourney. It will be interesting to see how smaller schools can handle outbreaks vs larger schools. Smaller schools/teams (1A thru 3/4A), as you know are not as deep 5A/6A that could handle a 20-30 kid exposure outbreak. We will see, but I'm not holding up to much hope.
  22. I will go out on limb here and say things are heading in wrong direction. Schools & sports will either open and then pull back after a month or so (maybe sooner) after they figure out this is to hard to control/monitor/manage. Hate to say it, have kids in school, but just think this problem is way to big to handle at this time
