  1. Hebert has two state titles and a runner-up, but that seems like 100 years ago.
  2. This is going to be a whale of an interesting playoffs this year.
  3. Final Ben Davis 27 (3-5, 2-2) Lawrence Central 7 (3-5, 2-3)
  4. Make it 27-7 Giants with 3 mins to play
  5. Ben Davis up 27-0 over Lawrence Central with under 4 mins to play.
  6. LN is an excellent football team as they are proving tonight.
  7. Worse for Carmel. Warren's offense was always going to be a problem. Now, it appears their defense is struggling a bit.
  8. Criticism is fair. I just don't think the year is over yet, and you pointed that out here.
  9. I don't know if I agree with your coaching assessment, but it seemed that Carmel got a little banged up last week. Their offense really struggled in the second half. 19 carries for 18 yards on the ground. They did make their mark through the air. Carmel just seems like a team that's plateaued. Hard to say that someone whose team is 6-1 could be out of a job unless he retires at WC. But, you do have a way of picking these things. Warren 28, Carmel 7 Until I see something else, these are the two best teams I've seen all year. LN is loaded on offense. Two of the best QBs in 6A. Hard to believe these Trojans could get blown out, but LN just may be the team that can do it. I don't think it happens here, though! LN 42, Center Grove 35 I get the feeling that Ben Davis has turned the corner. I just think that second half against Carmel showed that they are ready to make a stretch run, but you're right about LC. I think they're flying right under the radar. They aren't great, but they certainly are very good. They've played everyone not named Warren Central tough. Despite losing 18 of the last 20 in the series, LC seems to have BD's number. I will choose BD in a nail biter. Ben Davis 45, Lawrence Central 42 I think Pike rolls North Central. Pike 35, North Central 7
  10. That Sectional should be one to watch with LN and Cathedral and a potential sleeper in LC if they ever get things together on the same night.
  11. Warren has a great defense, but I think LN's offense has more firepower than what BD did. It's just an opinion. 21 not 28. I'm losing my marbles.
  12. At this point, I just think that it's too heavy of a lift to see BD go on the road and win at Carmel. Carmel 24, Ben Davis 21 I think Center Grove is a really solid, good football team in all three phases. I think McWilliams pushes them past the Irish. Center Grove 21, Cathedral 17 I agree with you. I think Lawrence North is the best team no one is talking about right now. You called it earlier than I did. If BD's offense can drop 28 on the Warriors, I'll say that the versatile 'Cats can go for more. Also, we need to talk about LN's kicking game too. They're just solid. Lawrence North 38, Warren 28 I think NC is the worst team in the MIC, and I think LC appears down, but they, like Ben Davis, have played a brutally tough schedule thus far. Thus, I don't see this one being close. LC 38, NC 14
  13. Even before Mallory. I believe the last Tom Dilley-coached LN/BD game was a 75-0 blowout in favor of the Giants.
  14. Lawrence North was actively trying to run it up against Ben Davis, but Mark Zackery saved them from the list. To be honest, I have no issue given the number of times BD has hung 56 or more on the Wildcats over the years.
  15. Ben Davis should not be in anyone's top 25 at this point. It's not the year for the Giants. Hoping they can get it together, but they're just trying to salvage something right now. They need to win out and win a Sectional game to get back to .500, and they've only been sub .500 once since 1986.
  16. That's ok. I believe you. Probably some ibuprofen or some ice will help those triceps.
  17. Lawrence North is for real. That football team is loaded on offense. Time to add them to the serious contenders list in 6A.
  18. Nice win by Lawrence North. Man, Patrick Mallory has more than just a MIC contender there. I think they may be a contender for the whole schmear. Giants weren't competitive today. Won't make excuses. They were skunked by a better team this morning/afternoon.
  19. I live right by Decatur Central, and it got quite dicey. I know there were trees down around here and some people still don't have power.
  20. Lawrence North and Ben Davis postponed to 11:00 am on Saturday.
  21. Thank you for compiling this.
  22. Looks like running will be at a premium (or selecting the right side of the field to go towards during the 4th quarter). This might be a week to choose the end of the field. I remember a few years back that BD went to Carmel. There was a huge front that blew through exactly at halftime. The temperature dropped like 20 degrees and the wind changed directions completely. BD had chosen the wrong end zone for the new wind conditions.
  23. Ben Davis has not been 1-5 since the 1974 season. Carmel 35, North Central 14 (It's a heated rivalry game) Center Grove 42, Lawrence Central 14 Ben Davis 27, Lawrence North 21 (OT) (Homer til the end) Warren Central 38, Pike 7
  24. Guess you have more skin in the game than you want to say publicly. It's fun going round and round and round and round and round and round with you. You're good for the board. Keep pokin'.
  25. I suspect I know. But I'll keep it to myself.
