I believe the either school would report the infraction to the IHSAA If it is determined that the quarter rule was broken, the team that broke the rule would forfeit the game where the quarter limits were exceeded. In your scenario would be the Freshman game. Special Team Downs do not count toward quarters. You can play every special team on Friday night and not use any quarter.

Played a JV game last night with 13 players and had another 14 standing on the sidelines for emergency only and Special teams. I had 5 lineman, Center hurt shoulder, so with 8 mins left of the game, I put a kid who snapped before at center wearing #13 so not to burn a Freshman quarter since he has 4 quarters to play on Thursday. Thanks DUMB 4 quarter SUB VARSITY rule. Appreciate ya Now if this was 2018, I would had 14 players to use at least 1 quarter and designate each one which quarter they would play and they still would of been able to play all 4 on this Thursday's Freshman game. Again, new quarter rule is far more an issue than the 35 point running clock for teams like our who still want to run 3 teams to maximize reps and progress thru the program.

I know bopping around Twittersvere leading up to GameDay, there was a lot of week 1 Military Appreciation games. I know South Newton and North Newton did one, and I saw at least 3 others but forget the schools off top of my head. Cool story for our Band, Mr. Cornelison spent the entire 1st quarter in their cheer block for the band and hung out with them watching the game and doing there thing. 😎

What a ceremony!!!! Great Job to all who were involved. Started with our Vietnam Club led by HS kids who investigated and found 7 fallen Bombers, plaque dedication, appreciation to all branches and then Anthem Singer bringing down the house. Special Night!!

Cass Skill kids have played a lot of ball last 3-4 years together on Varsity. Should continue to get better, look for a Case County Sectional Showdown coming in October.

6 quarter rule as written is awful for small schools who still run 3 teams like Rensselaer Central the term "sub varsity" is gross and kills our Freshman and JV teams reps. For instance. This week, instead of being able to use our Freshman for 1 quarter of JV ball as deemed fit, we cannot and have to save them for their 4 quarters of Freshman game on Thursday so they do not go over the "4 quarter of Sub Varsity play" Used to be 5 quarters a week. Took a quarter away from JV/Freshman teams who share players. I voiced this concern in May of last year to IHSAA, IFOA again this past week. Its hard enough to find reps for freshman kids when so many teams in our area do not run 3 teams, we feel strongly that playing 3 full teams gives our kids competition and learn how to compete and work on their reps. We will make it work legally, it's unfortunate. But I could play a sophomore kid this week who played the entire 2nd half of a close game on Friday, 4 quarters on JV this Monday. however he played exactly 3 total plays in the 2nd quarter when we had a player get set off because he was dry heaving. So now he can play 1 quarter on Monday instead of 4 because of 3 plays........... Riddle me that one.

Athletes all over the field on those two teams, both run a rabbit pace up tempo style on both sides of spread zone/midlines/air raid Both extremely well coached, but man the pace of those two teams play at consistently is more the issue of the shootout score. Fun to be a part of course I am an offensive guy!!! Coach Cronk and Roseman will have fun telling that games story

oh, these are different: State Records /Career / In season not specific to actual state championship game records, which I think the Bombers have a 2a record or two as well, for sure 1st downs in a game!!
