  1. Although I have no idea what it costs no install a turf field, it's probably not free. Therefore , a lot of rural schools with limited budgets and the lack of a benefactor may have trouble footing the bill. You can only have so many bake sales...
  2. I love grass. You should never pass on grass...
  3. Quite the draw--Lowell and Hobart will just have 2 glorified practices where they will meet for the first time for the last time.
  4. Tough game. GB needs to figure a few things out, especially with going to Lambeau Field--South this coming Sunday.
  5. I'm pretty happy with both SN and Lowell's draws. I don't know much about Culver other than their Cement Mixers and Butterburgers are awesome! As for Highland, not much to know. RDP spanked them a few weeks ago and I expect to trend to continue.
  6. Boomer Sooner had an epic finish…
  7. From the Land of Lincoln: Joliet Catholic 56, Brother Rice 49 Final I guess defense was optional…
  8. South Newton 14, Attica 12 Final I expected a much higher margin, but I’m happy with the W.
  9. From one earth nerd to another: thanks, I forgot about that tasty nugget. Speaking of taste, what ever road it is goes by the Beef House--good eating!
  10. Bring in Tom Herman.
  11. Actually, I love the part of the state. My wife is from southern Indiana and US 41 takes me through Warren and Vermillion Counties.
  12. Way back in the 80s. I am a little surprised the name has stuck. Then again, they’re trying to pull an Ole Miss by ignoring the Old South by replacing Johnny Reb with Sir Newton, a southern gentleman. Good in theory, but almost every farmer in Newton County wears Carhartts. Yes, Riverton Parke would have been quite a jaunt, just as Pioneer and Caston were. Even Winamac and to a certain extent West Central (although they’re in the MWC 2.0) weren’t real close by.
  13. Thanks for the recognition--I've always liked the WRC and would have been happy if SN would have been a member, even in my day. SN, 39-6 NV 28-20 PH 19,14 Stephanie White HS, 23-21 Covington 69-13

    IU 2021

Hype will do that to you. Win 8+ games for a couple of years and you think you’re invincible. Hardly the case is most situations… Both IU and Purdue have some serious work to do, but it’s not too late.
  15. Penn State is looking awfully good, too. Michigan should be up there by year’s end. Iowa is another hope from the B1G. I don’t know what to think of Oklahoma, yet their replacement in the XII, Cincinnati could surprise… Oh yeah, and Kentucky knocked off Florida tonight.
  16. I’ve never been a fan of the XII. I liked the Big 8, and maybe they should have merged with the Big Ten instead. But that ship has obviously sailed, so the proverbial “what if’s” have no merit. As for the old SWC, meh. You had UT, A & M, and TCU produce good seasons every now and then, but no long-term stability. Hopefully the new additions coupled with UT and Oklahoma bolting will result in a better league.
  17. As a Boiler fan, I am very excited to see Brady in old gold and black. Purdue’s offense works best with a solid vertical passing game, and all Plummer does is check down it. AOC will be gone and I know very little about Alaimo.
  18. Exactly. A lot of football is to be played beforehand. Good luck to all the teams.
  19. I like it, it’s good to see football north of US 30 re-emerge.
  20. It will be interesting to see what shakes out. Jeff beat Richmond 70-0 tonight and I think Elkhart is having a down year. The Fort Wayne schools should not be overlooked either. I also think the Vikings will bounce back.
  21. So much for a fun one. Are the Pirates ready for CG? Possibly, but let’s see how the do with the likes of Lafayette Jeff and Penn or Elkhart first. Is Valpo’s season over? Clearly not, as this is just one game.
