  1. I didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers and will even admit South Newton needed to dress JV players to have a team.
  2. Ready for this? I am in complete agreement. Teams should dress a minimum of 40 players for each game. If that can’t be met, forfeiture should apply.
  3. This thread has been fun. I started the other day not realizing it would be this popular. No one’s beating anybody up or being overtly hostile. Keep dropping some good ones like the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs—OK, so that one doesn’t play in the IHSAA, but I’m sure you get my drift.
  4. Got it. I think it is a hell of a nickname with apparently a life of its own. Get this man some Prevagen!
  5. That he did not. Nor did Desmond Howard...
  6. As touched on earlier, football is a game of strategy, and it looks like posting on this forum also is. So what if they have a scorched earth policy at times? Nothing wrong with rocking the boat...
  7. I’m all for the Rebels. Putting them in 6A may be a bit extreme, but maybe it’s not. Things do change from year to year as nothing is constant. They would need to go to 5A first and after getting smacked around by their Cathedral cousins, they could be back in 4A before you can belt out a verse of Avé Maria. Or Gather us In...
  8. Big game Sunday: Going with the Pack 34-16. The Packers offense will keeps the Bears’ anemic offense off the field for much of the game, although Bray connects on a 25-yard TD pass in garbage time. That and three Cairo Santos field goals cannot measure up to Aaron Rodgers slinging TD passes to Davante Adams, a redeemed Valdes-Scantling coupled with a backfield running wild over a once-formidable defense.
  9. Fleck will, Franklin might, be I feel Jimbo is a goner. I still like bringing in Coastal’s Coach as keeping it in the family doesn’t always work. There’s also Buffalo’s coach who is setting the MAC on fire, Napier at Leezyanna is OK, and I’m sure other things could come about as I am glued to Forensic Files as opposed to the B1G Channel or SEC Network. Love him or hate him, Paul Finnebaum knows his stuff.
  10. Didn’t stay in his hizzle, was diagnosed with Coronizzle. I still like the Boilers’ change against Rutgers and Nebraska (and their combined 2-7 records), IU caught a major break that a defender of his caliber may not be playing in the Bucket game. Purdue is currently a 12-point favorite against RU, but they were also favored against Minny.
  11. They’ll be back. I’m not sure to the same degree under RMK, but still...
  12. We also have the Ambia Wildcats, Fair Oaks Cherokees, and Hanging Grove Hornets.
  13. Brook Purple Aces + Goodland Trojans + Kentland Blue Devils (in addition to the Earl Park Cardinals and Ramblin’ Rats of Raub=the South Newton Rebels.
  14. We’re ignoring the Mishawaka High Cavemen—Fred & Barney...
  15. I think so, too, but there is a natural resistance to change. I see what you’re doing and it’s good, but there will always be dissenting opinions. Not from me anymore, though... About the mighty Rebels: if they were playing in Uk’s Premiership, they would have been relegated a long time ago, chap.
  16. And my son starts there in the fall (Honors College—pretty cool, huh?)
  17. In terms of wins and losses, I’m totally with you, but their fan base in basketball is more than comparable to Michigan football. Case in point: I married into an IU family and they’re already excited for the Final 4... I must declare victory, however, as Mrs. Gipper will be earning a Purdue degree this Spring!
