  1. I think there were other factors that led to consolidation than just football, an extracurricular activity...
  2. It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, but again, people are creatures of habit (schedulers included). Imagine the Old Oaken Bucket game being played in September...
  3. People are creature of habit.
  4. League opponents should cone first.
  5. It would somehow... I like Yanquis myself...
  6. A huge enrollment of more than 2000, 2500, 3000...10,000 kids isn’t necessarily the answer. Other factors need to be considered. Take Linton as an example, or even Pioneer: both have very small enrollments, yet both are consistently good. Props to them.
  7. Have Anderson and Muncie gotten any better?
  8. No matter what happens, people will complain. The IHSAA does the best job they can and weigh all the factors.
  9. Truer words have never been spoken. I never made it bast Semi-State in any of my athletic endeavors, does that make my time playing worthless? Of course not. Winning a state title is tough. Just being in the moment with your friends is also a reward.
  10. I think they are both great conferences.
  11. I think they should to totally symmetrical. Divide the number of teams by 6. Not that hard..
  12. Most all re-alignments involve travel headaches. Having Elkhart and Valpo or conversely Penn and Homestead play on a yearly basis won’t solve everything, improvement comes from within.
  13. The time zone thing is a big deal and will school boards and ADs sign off on this?
  14. Very true, a little better than Terre Haute but not by much.
  15. I agree with your assessment. It has always seemed that Jeff was a basketball first school. I believe they and McCutcheon (not Harrison this time) are leading the NCC in hoops.
  16. Good point. We saw what happened when Tippecanoe County tried to rub elbows with the Hoosier Crossroads Conference and I do think Kokomo, Lebanon, and Logansport have more in common with Lafayette than Fishers and Westfield do.
  17. Perhaps, but with WL making the jump to 4A, they will need tougher regular season competition. I believe they were beaten by Guerin the first round back in November.
  18. Not necessarily. Most Hoosier Conference schools are 2 and 3A. WLHS needs to find tougher competition or they’ll always get bounced in the first round of the Sectional.
  19. Spot on. It’s an old boy’s network, I just wonder if and when simple economics will win out.
  20. I feel that way also, and so should Kokomo and Logansport. The NCC covers too much real estate.
