  1. This is so disappointing on so many levels. Shame on the IHSAA for being so hesitant/resistant to change. So 38 other States can have some sort of seeding/qualification - but we can't seem to figure out a format that works??? Give me a break. And if you can seed the top 2, you can seed everyone Good regular seasons need to be rewarded.
  2. Now THAT is impressive. Do you have any idea if he will remain in those roles while taking the Head Coaching job at such a prestigious school??
  3. $118,000 for being a strength teacher and head football coach?? Sure, property taxes/land values and quality of living cost - I understand all that - but whoa - different world people are living in up in Westfield
  4. Care to elaborate as far as Coach Gilbert's role within the school?? Dean of students? Strength Coach? That type of salary seems to suggest some type of Administration role I would guess??
  5. Without quoting all the above classes and taking up loads of space in this reply box- those classes (where 32 biggest are in 6A and 32 smallest are in 1A) seem about right to me. I realize it’s all relative I guess…
  6. After reading through this thread - I actually think I've come around to the idea that is should be the BIGGEST 32 in 6A and the smallest 32 in 1A - then split the rest as evenly as you can.
  7. Memorial better be careful what they wish for…wasn’t so long ago you were in the Patriots sectional and were, well, pretty much irrelevant.
  8. Every time seeding gets brought up - the naysayers sprout up with these points (how are you going to make it FAIR & logistically WHEN would you have the meetings) ....YOU'RE MISSING THE MOST OBVIOUS POINT - it is 100% better than having two 9-0 teams play 1st round while 1-8 gets to play 2-7!?!? IN WHAT WORLD is that right/fair?!? Give the regular season some form of meaning. Will things be PERFECT?? Of course not....but it is light years better than what we have in place now.
  9. Maybe just ask some wrestling coaches - they’ve seemed to figure it out since the beginning of time
  10. Of course they are ....and what is the process for selecting/appointing individuals on said "committees?"
  11. Ok - I'll give this a try: 1. Your original point (from what I gathered) is Brownstown doesn't have a soccer program because of its lack of proximity to a larger metro area. 2. I said that argument/point doesn't necessarily hold water/make sense - as there are plenty of examples around the State of similar logistics that do have soccer. - It's no skin off my back either way, again, was just curious. I think the easier argument/point to make would be "we just don't want it (which you did say) and the community doesn't either" ....that in itself would be shocking to me, just given the culture of things nowadays
  12. I was just genuinely curious (and maybe a little jealous?!) how a school such as Brownstown doesn't have a soccer program. Obviously that is a big win for the football program (in terms of numbers)...I don't necessarily buy the argument of the proximity to a big city being necessary for having a soccer program - that doesn't make much sense to me? But, to each their own....
  13. I actually don't know the answer?? Is there something obvious that I am missing?
  14. Certainly understand that - but there are plenty of schools with those enrollment numbers and/or fewer that still certainly field a soccer program. (well, maybe not football roster numbers, those are impressive) North Posey, Pike Central, Tecumseh, Tell City come to mind in our conference.
  15. How on earth has Brownstown been able to thwart off having a soccer program at their school?? That seems almost implausible in this day and age? ?
  16. How many of the PLAC/MSC teams do NOT have a soccer program?? Is Brownstown the only one??
  17. Wow - that is a wild story! (And pretty bad timing in regards to enrollment counts)....
  18. That's why I asked Coach Nowlin ....figured he had boots on the ground with an explanation
  19. ADM?? Sorry, I am not familiar with that acronym ?? Care to explain?? Is the "migrant worker population" no longer around the area with their children, or did they move to another district??
  20. What on earth happened to lose that many students??
  21. Now I remember why I have always despised the C&P. They treat us like dirt- always have. I realize postseason success should drive most of these awards- but to have 2 TC players, 3 VL , 3 players from Jasper- and NOT have a particular other SR player on the team (I don’t like to use names)…well- just sits wrong. But- not that big of deal in the long run- just again reinforces what I’ve always thought of the C&P- trash
  22. Um…Dubois County (Southridge)is on - as we like to say - “God’s time” (Eastern)….not stupid…err I mean, Central time!
  23. First of all- there are fall count numbers, not the Spring ones that the IHSAA will use for classifications. Don’t think they’ll change much- but you never know. Secondly- if Washington and Pike Central leave 30, does it makes sense for Memorial and MD to slide into their spots? (VL is already in the SIAC) Not sure what you’d do with 32 with Salem’s departure??
  24. Technically and under the old "1 point to stay up" - SR is STILL SF'd up from our original class from 2017 & 2018 season. Believe we might be the longest tenured public school (maybe New Pal) that was SF'd up and stay up. 2017 - State Champ .....2018- Semi-State (bumped up to 3A) 2019-HH bounced during sectional (no points) ...2020 made it semi state (stay up in 3A) 2021- bounced in sectional (no points)....2022 Sectional champs (stay up in 3A) 2023 - bounced in sectional by HH....
