  1. I hope not. The sport is bigger than Harbaugh, Day, or any of the gutless wonders at the NCAA.
  2. College football becomes asymmetrical warfare. Who would have thought it? I guess Day’s reasoning is if he can’t beat them on the field, he’s got to find another way.
  3. How many people on here know who you’re talking about? How many people know what he’s referring to when he talks about “the Hun?” 🤣😂😅
  4. Now the plot really thickens. This is going to make Nov. 25 even more interesting than usual. The Buckeyes and Big Weasels have no love for one another under the best of circumstances. But this sort of thing makes for real bad blood. If I were assigned to officiate that game, I would be really concerned about preventing some kind of ugly incident. Michigan Reportedly Has Evidence Its Sign Stealing Scandal Was Uncovered And Leaked By Private Investigators With Ties To Ryan Day So it seems Michigan has proof that its sign-stealing operation was brought to light by private investigators linked to Ohio State coach Ryan Day. And I guess they're really pissed off about this? The entire operation was apparently the worst-kept secret in the Big Ten and it's supposed to be some sort of shocking revelation that evidence of the cheating ring was found by Michigan's arch nemesis? I guess there could be some sort of recourse if it ends up being proven that Connor Stalions's computer was accessed illegally, but having evidence you were caught cheating isn't exactly a flex. Now it does make the story that much better and more ridiculous that Day seemingly hired his PI brother to uncover all of this, but it doesn't change the fact that Michigan was the school cheating for years when it magically transformed into one of the best programs in the country. Someone was going to blow the lid on this eventually. This year's Michigan-Ohio State game is going to be one of the must-watch sporting events of all-time, though. I'm actually glad UM has been running this scheme for the content it has already given us and that which is certain to come in the near future. The rest of this season is going to be fun.
  5. These “questionable” refs worked the state finals in 2016 & 2020. I worked my last year on the field with this crew. They know what they’re doing.
  6. I have to see this. At what point in the game did these things occur? If a kick does not go beyond the neutral zone, it can be recovered and advanced by either team.
  7. I’m sure @Impartial_Observeris in the house. What say ye?
  8. Halftime, Knox and Glenn lighting it up. Redskins lead 38-19 at the half.
  9. Glenn answers. Try fails. Knox 16 John Glenn 6 1:43 of the 1st.
  10. Knox intercepts and takes advantage of the short field to punch it in and get another 2 pt. try. Knox 16 - John Glenn 0 5:11 of the 1st.
  11. Knox takes the opening kickoff and drives 80 yds. in 3:46. 2 pt. try successful. 8-0 over John Glenn.
  12. He’s got to be just about out of tolerance for NCAA foolishness.
  13. I think there are more than a few games tonight that are rematches of regular season games. I’m going to one, as Knox hosts John Glenn. What are some of the others, and how did the regular season game turn out? Knox handled Glenn by a comfortable margin in mid-season.
  14. @temptation, would you be willing to bet an amount of money that really mattered to you that Harbaugh will be the HFC at Michigan on opening day of the 2024 season?
  15. Including the officiating crew.

    IU BBall

I was in Bloomington from the Fall of 1974 to the Spring of 1977, probably the best 3 seasons for IU basketball. Scott May was the best player in college basketball. Benson a dominant force in the middle. But the engine that made the whole thing run was Quinn Buckner.
  17. Such that alleged “sign-stealing” could not have been even a small factor. That’s why I referred to it as crap. But you know the meatheads are going to say that, and not just at ND.
18. And now, everybody Michigan has played in the last few years is coming out with this kind of crap: https://www.onefootdown.com/2023/11/2/23943373/notre-dame-football-so-were-pretty-sure-michigan-cheated-against-the-irish-in-2019-conor-stalions-nd Notre Dame Football: So... we’re pretty sure Michigan cheated against the Irish in 2019 Remember going “wth?” on a rainy October night in Ann Arbor? By Joshua Vowles@TheSubwayDomer Nov 2, 2023, 10:46am EDT 10 Comments / 10 New Share this story Share this on Facebook (opens in new window) Share this on Twitter (opens in new window) SHAREAll sharing options Photo by Scott W. Grau/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images The ongoing scandal involving the Michigan Wolverines and the cheating operation of Conor Stalions has almost completely overtaken the college football conversation over the last couple of weeks — and for good reason. If only half of what is being alleged turns out to be true, then this is truly one of the greatest scandals in college football history. What’s frustrating for fans right now, is that we are in the middle of a season and Michigan is in fantastic shape to make the college football playoff despite evidence that has been put forth about this cheating happening this year (like Stalions being on the Central Michigan sideline in sunglasses in the Chips night game against the Michigan State Spartans). The College Football Playoff Committee is taking a pass on doing anything about Michigan’s actions, and passing the buck onto the NCAA. The Big Ten coaches, however, have no intention of being patient about any of this and expressed a desire for the conference to do something right away. So... what does any of this have to do with Notre Dame this year? Not much (that we know of) as the Irish took themselves out of playoff contention down in Louisville a few weeks ago. This scandal, however, goes back years — including the last time Notre Dame played Michigan back in 2019. Remember that 2019 game in Ann Arbor? Remember how the Irish couldn’t do a damn thing right offensively? Well... there may be a very good reason for that besides poor bye week preparation. This story is absolutely insane and only gets crazier with each passing day.
  19. I will be at Knox Friday night for this one. Did you know that the 2 head coaches have 541 wins between them? Is there another game in the state that can match that total?
  20. One of the more clear, concise and informative posts I’ve seen on the GID in some time.
  21. That’s way above my pay grade. I’d prefer to concentrate on curing the problem long term, and let others figure out the mechanics of dealing with the current crisis.
  22. As an observer, I am in contact with many different officials, from all parts of the state. The “problem” has already begun. And reversing the trend is going to prove very difficult.
  23. Yes. In normal timing, the game clock would start when the kickoff was legally touched. In Mercy Rule timing, it starts when the ball is kicked. Once it starts, Mercy Rule timing is in effect for the remainder of the game.
  24. If this thread were a horse, they’d shoot it.
