  1. It's best just to pretend his comments don't exist. He brings no value to this discussion.
  2. I was thinking the same thing. From the outside looking in, that is the impression that is being given off. Winning the 6A title is no less of a major achievement with 16 teams than it is with 32. It's something to be proud of regardless.
  3. Can you clarify what you are asking? Are you considering Carmel, Ben Davis, and Warren Central the outliers? Schools representing the north with similar enrollments to Westfield is common place. When Carmel is in the south, the probability of a school from the north, half the enrollment of their southern counterpart, is very high.
  4. Six of the eight teams are legitimate contenders in my opinion. It's about increasing the probability of reaching the state finals. Were basically giving eight teams a better chance by allowing them to play similar sized schools..........the same opportunity given to schools in classes 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A.
  5. Do I really have to explain it for the tenth time? Did you read this entire thread? Good post. The IHSAA would make that final decision.
  6. Great idea, but right now I think the IHSAA has their hands full with determining whether or not to change the overall numbers in 6A. I agree that 24 teams isn't perfect, but at least we are giving the bottom eight a morsel of a chance. Does that stink for the #24 team? Probably. But yes, a line has to be drawn somewhere.
  7. I couldn't agree more. You and I are on the same page on this. The teams you mention fit in perfectly with Snider and Dwenger. Let the champion move up to 6A for a couple of years to test the waters at the next level as the success factor is intended.
  8. That's easy for you to say because your school is the second largest in the state and your trophy box is already full. No disrespect 93, your a good poster on this site. I just HIGHLY disagree with you on this.
  9. Eight more teams who have a shot at the title. Warsaw being one of those teams. Would the Tigers be a threat to MIC supremacy with their new coach and an enrollment of 4000? The answer to that is yes, give them the same opportunity to play for a title that the mega schools have.
  10. It could be as simple as have a board of five members making the decisions on this. One from each area of the state........central, northeast, northwest, southwest, and southeast. No different than the committee that decides seeding in the NCAA Basketball Tournament or the Football Playoff Selection Committee. AP Rankings, Sagarin, Gridiron Rankings, strength of schedule, etc., could all be utilized in deciding who gets a bye and who doesn't.
  11. The three largest schools winning 15 of the last 20 big school championships isn't just coincidence.
  12. Now you're just getting carried away. Sixty four teams was never right. Thirty two was better, but not quite right. What's wrong with trying to get closer to "right?" You can actually intelligently debate that 24 teams is no more "right" than 32? We're taking eight teams out of a class they don't belong in and putting them in their own weight class.............how is that not right!?!?
  13. New Pal and Snider could say the same thing. There's nothing wrong with fighting for what is right on behalf of the masses.
  14. You'll exhaust yourself if you do. At CG's enrollment level, there isn't even an iota of a chance that they'll be in anything but the largest school division. And CG will never catch up with Carmel as the Greyhounds success goes back five decades. Center Grove's success is more recent with the hiring of Eric Moore.
  15. LC won "a" big school title. So have some other small programs. How many do Carmel, Ben Davis, and WC have? Westfield joins a long list of schools who were "runner-up" to larger enrollment schools.
  16. Correct, still a big gap. BUT..............under DT's proposal, eight teams will get a shot at playing in Lucas Oil in their own weight class who otherwise would have no chance at winning a state championship.
  17. Actually, no. Everybody just wants an opportunity to compete in their own weight class.
  18. Center grove is 2500 strong and growing. Why not give the bottom eight in enrollment an opportunity? Outside of Zionsville, the other proposed schools are more than likely sitting at a stagnant population.
  19. Pretty easy to say for someone who is affiliated with the Mega School Conference. DT's proposal gives eight more teams an opportunity to win the state title who otherwise would have a chance of slim to none.
  20. Any correlation between a program's following on this forum and the respective coach taking the time to complete the interview?
  21. There won't be any shame in finishing 5-4 in the SAC this year. The teams at the top are pretty good. Dwenger is one of those top teams. The Saints are a strong contender to win the bell.
  22. Snider and Dwenger being in the same sectional is an epic first time event, and contrary to Dwenger/Luers and Snider/Northrop............Snider vs Dwenger is the biggest and best rivalry in Fort Wayne. And it has been for what's going on it's fifth decade. I think there is a "presumption" that they will meet..........just no guarantee.
