  1. Low scoring game. I'll roll with Snider 17-10. It's no secret both teams are known for their defenses. The difference for me is that Snider is more battle tested. Maybe this is a homer prediction.
  2. Which Homestead team shows up? The one that beat Dwenger, Luers, and Wayne? Or the one that lays an egg every time they play Indy? If the former, your score is accurate. If the latter, it's a running clock in the third. I'll roll with running clock in the third.
  3. Agree. The way they are currently playing, you and I both know they are probably Top 8 let alone Top 12. They won't be denied with one loss, but some well deserving one loss teams are going to be upset at the end of the day. Alabama already has two losses, but no one's in a hurry to bet on Iowa State or BYU beating them.
  4. There's going to be a slew of one loss teams this year vying for at large bids versus some well deserving two loss teams as well. It's going to be complicated. How do you say no to the Big Twelve runner-up if they lose a close one in the championship game? Anyone in their right mind knows that it has to be done though.

    IU 2024

That's my point. Just wondering how numbers can weight in the favor of historically good programs. IU has the coaching advantage over Ohio State. The teams seem pretty equal right now, which doesn't say much for Ryan Day having a roster loaded with four and five star athletes. IU is loaded with two and three stars, and 16 zero stars who transferred from JM. But yeah, if Rourke is playing, they'll do well. I just hope they're not looking ahead. Michigan and Michigan State could be trap games. Imagine that. Michigan being a trap game for IU.

    IU 2024

Yes. Why is Ohio State #1 in the Sagarin Ratings and Indiana #17? If Ohio State had IU's schedule and posted the exact same scores, they wouldn't be ranked #17. Is the ranking weighted somehow in favor of the historical powers? And for those of you wondering, I look at Sagarin for entertainment purposes only. After all, Columbia City was a 9pt favorite over Dwenger.
  7. Agree and agree. Leo is more than capable of ending East Noble's season. Dwenger is playing their best football right now, but Wayne is healthy.
  8. This sectional is interesting to say the least. Dwenger @ Wayne East Noble @ Leo
  9. Fairfield 26, Concordia 20.............half
  10. Correction, East Noble scored 3 minutes into the game, then again to end the 1st quarter. Imposing their will, don't see the Archers making this competitive.
  11. East Noble 14, South Side 0.........end of 1st. Scoreless until EN scored two touchdowns in the final 8 seconds if I heard that correctly.
  12. Everyone expected this sectional to be the East Noble, Columbia City, Leo, and Wayne "show." Dwenger's 4-5 record is deceiving at the 4A level.
  13. Dwenger's actually a decent football team, rough schedule. All their losses came at the hands of 6A schools and Moeller. Sagarin likes Columbia City, by I think a lot of folks up here were skeptical. They did beat Leo though. That's a pretty good win. Dwenger 21, Columbia City 0
  14. Called the two fumbles? That's pretty good 🙂
  15. 14-0. Thirty five yards, fourteen points.
  16. Columbia City, two plays, two turnovers. Dwenger driving up 7-0.
  17. I guess the lesson here is that if you play with guns, they play back.
  18. Well yeah, thousands of shootings occur every year in broad daylight. Just saying it's a good rule to follow is all. Both losses are tragic no matter the time of day. Didn't mean for the time of day to be the bigger story here.
  19. Nothing good happens after 10pm. I wish more young people would adhere to that rule.
  20. Prayers go out to this young man's family, friend, coaches, and teammates as they mourn the loss of their fallen teammate. Willie Venzell Ivy III, 17, died from a gunshot wound to the chest (wane.com). Seventeen years old, that really sucks.
  21. Lol, no. Sparty staying within 17 would be a nice moral victory. But this game screams 35+.
  22. Carroll at North - Both teams might be playing their best football of the season. North utterly dominated Wayne, but I see a different outcome when Carroll comes to town. Chargers 31-14 Concordia at Dwenger - Where Dwenger is playing like they want to win a sectional championship, Concordia just doesn't seem to show any kind of progress whatsoever. Saints 35-7 Snider at Wayne - Snider's looking toward their sectional while Wayne is searching for some respect. The Generals keep it close til the end. Snider 20-7 South at Northrop - South has momentum right now. Northrop not so much. Tough call, but.............Archers 26-20 OT Homestead at Luers - The Knights are relying on their defense this year, but in the end, I feel that they'll struggle to put enough points on the board. A nice victory for Homestead before cleaning out their lockers after Round 1. Spartans 17-14
  23. To be fair, 2022 had nothing to do with quarterback play. Snider was a snowstorm away from taking state. Agree, if Sullivan was leading the Snider offense this year, they'd be a legitimate contender in the north. Could Snider pull off the upset against Carroll, Westfield, or CP this year in their current state of affairs? Sure, but I'm not very bullish. Offense would have to continue to improve and defense would have to be near perfect.
  24. My "no filter" zone is treading up. Forum's been stagnant. The "rookie" accusation was dead on accurate if you ask me. No offense taken.
  25. Rookie? I'll take it! Can't say that I'm a seasoned gambler.
