Sectional Championship Scores
BTF replied to Komets2727's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Dinan doesn't take it easy. Snider's D utterly dominated Carroll in the second half. Kudos to Dinan though, he made the necessary adjustments to put the game away with that final touchdown. Yes, Crown Point over Carroll by 13+. And yes, 6A is won in the trenches. Hard to do with a 5A enrollment. -

Snider beat Elkhart because they were the better team. Tonight they held Sullivan in check without Logan. The difference in the game was Snider's three turnovers at the Carroll 1, 20, and 30. Lol. -
Or they could be 8-1. There's no way to know until they face Westfield.

Not saying I don't like polls, I enjoy them as well, they are fun. Just saying they are for pretend. Take Sagarin for example, a fun poll for sure. Columbia City was a 9 point favorite over Dwenger before the Saints manhandled them by 37pts. You just have to take these "fun" polls for what they're worth.
-
Crown Point is already legit, they proved that last season. Actions speak louder than words. The real work is done o the field. Polls are just for pretend.
-
Is Dwenger beating East Noble an upset?
-
Lol, in another thread, he asked "am I allowed to speak?" I never knew he wasn't allowed to speak about something, I must have missed that.

6A Tournament Discussion

I've been saying the last few years that you're one of the least biased posters on the forum. That stock is going downhill fast. Transitive property only seems to make sense when it favors Indy. What you're telling me is that Snider would beat HSE this year and Ben Davis last year? C'mon Temp. You even mentioned earlier in the year that Snider's best shot at beating WC was in Week 1, given that WC would improve throughout the season. Is Carroll no better now than they were in Week 1? Based on your logic, I'm very close to anointing Snider as the mythical all around champion of 2023 if you want to keep playing this game. -

The Top 8 looks pretty good. Nine through twelve is a crapshoot though. The gap Temp has between Fishers and Snider is way too wide. Probably shouldn't be a gap at all. I might even place Carroll ahead of Fishers.............body of work. -
Three losses should be an automatic disqualifier.

You're not allow to speak. Stay out of this.

We can do this all day, and my stance won't change in 2029. Not really sure why you brought it up. Homestead and Noblesville play the following week, and it's a 17pt win even without Homesteads best player. The kids were uninspired playing a one win team. They finally woke up when they needed to to win the game at the end. I want to say Noblesville jumped out in front 14-0. If Homestead were healthy, Carmel would have been lucky to win by 14pts. Indy has it's way with Homestead every year, not sure why it's such a big deal to think that Homestead overlooked Noblesville that year. Or are you wanting to make a point the the HCC's worst team is as good as the SAC's best team. HSE 20, Homestead 14 - third/fourth best team in the SAC Snider 35, Homestead 0 Really want to do this?
-
I give Elkhart's defense a slight edge over Dwenger and an absolute edge over East Noble. That's decent company. Not sure I can compare them to Carroll since Snider's offense looks a lot different than it did when they played Carroll the first time around. I saw lot's of similarities in their defense that I saw with Warren Central. Edge to Warren Central.
-
Not even close. I still think they fell asleep on the bus on their way to play a winless team. They turned around and outplayed Carmel, supposedly the best team in the state that year, for an entire half the following week without their best offensive player. So no, not conceding :). Thank you for remembering :).

Sharpe Out At Noblesville

Good for him, family before football. I stated in another thread that coaches with families at the high school level have a MAJOR disadvantage versus coaches who don't. Time is a valuable commodity. -
All I know is what I saw. Elkhart had some athletes on the offensive side of the ball. Outside of Snider and Penn, they averaged 34 points per game. Not sure why everyone is so down on Elkhart all of a sudden. I thought they played a competitive game against a program that has a pretty decent reputation. A 6A program loses to 5A Snider and now all of a sudden they stink? Outside of seven or eight teams, I think Elkhart could take just about anyone to the wire. I'm not saying they're ranked ninth, fifteenth, or twentieth, just saying that they are a pretty good football team.
-
Since when do you ask permission to speak? I'm not convinced that Penn is "clearly inferior". Yes, the Mishawaka game was an eye opener, but that was back in Week 2. I don't think it's out of the question for a team to be drastically improved ten weeks later I love that all our questions are about to be answered on the field over the next few weeks.
-
If Crown Point beats Penn by 7pts, I'm still not counting them out of winning the North. They come across as a program that just gets things done.
-
1. You're a good poster, stop this madness. 2. You're a good poster, stop this madness.

Don't wanna hijack this thread, let's continue this at "The Next Level." I'm not sure how good Penn's defense really is as they gave up a lot of points the first two weeks of the season. It was suggested that the defense has improve, hence the 7pts they gave up to Elkhart. The rest of their schedule is suspect. Crown Point comes across as a no nonsense team that just goes about it's business. Looking at their schedule, I would conclude that their defense might be on par with Penn's. Maybe a slight advantage to CP. Offensively, they seem really consistent and should score enough points to win this game by double digits. I'll take Crown Point 28-14.
-
C'mon. They're widely regarded as one of the top 6 or 7 current programs.
-
Notre Dame is already there. They've proved that they are a perennial Top 10 team. Once you have power, it's hard to relinquish it. Hence Penn and Nebraska's dire need to get it back. I have to admit, Nebraska is really teetering on an irrelevant program that deserves nothing. Penn's not even close to being there. If Michigan posted a losing record 20 years in a row, they'd still have a sense of entitlement. Thirty years in a row and you're a has been. See Army.
