Temp’s Top 25 (Week 5)

I’m not sure HSE or Fishers deserve to drop after last night. Feel like Snider doesn’t belong anywhere near this list. -
Westfield 21 HSE 14 F/OT Warren 24 Ben Davis 21 F/2OT

Brebeuf 28 Carmel 27

ND would never interview Urban let alone hire him.
-
Mike Norvell just signed a 10 year $84 mil extension this offseason. He’s owed $65 million if he’s fired this year. FSU fans going to have to suffer a little while longer.

Maryland is game 5, Nebraska is game 7 but understood your point. Given their play to start the season, it’d almost feel like a disappointment if IU weren’t undefeated heading into the Nebraska game (who also should be undefeated and a top 20 team). They’ll be favored in each of their next 3 games.
-
It’s gonna be a fun Fall in Bloomington. IU administration may have just gotten this one right.
-
I think they'll get 6 but looking at the remaining schedule, 8-4 seems to be the ceiling. They will play a ton of close games and down to competition because their offense is that brutal if I'm putting it bluntly. Not sure I'd ever put money of my Hoosiers to beat Michigan but if there was a year to do it, it might as well be this year. I'll have a better idea about Indiana come Saturday night, they should roll UCLA based on what I've seen but IU has seemingly never done well with expectations placed upon them.

Trap game for what? Notre Dame doesn't play anybody for another 2 months.
-
NIL, at least in its current form, is going to be greatly diminished once revenue sharing kicks in starting next season. Schools not only can, but to my understanding are obligated to share revenue with its athletes going forward.
-
If elite universities like Michigan and Notre Dame can’t fund top 12 competitive football teams that’s on them.
-
Will be interesting to see how long Michigan lets Moore go 8-4 in the 12 team playoff era. Guessing they won’t give him as long of a leash as Notre Dame is seemingly going to give Freeman. Admittedly, it’s probably a slight overreaction on my part, but rarely does promoting a coordinator at a school like Michigan work out in the long run.

Cincinnati St. Xavier 35, Cathedral 31

Cathedral defense struggled all night. The stops they did get in the 2H were because of self-inflicted penalties by St. X. Gain 2 inches and St. X doesn’t get the ball back period. That’s the 3rd or 4th time in the last 10-15 years I’ve seen St. X go on a last minute scoring drive to win the game. But yes, special teams are a nightmare. Kick the ball in the end zone. -
Ehh on one hand they should be decided underdogs on the road at the Coliseum but on the other hand it speaks volumes as to how weak ND’s schedule is this year. They win out and go 11-1 they should probably be in the top 12. Lose to USC and go 10-2, no chance they should be in with that schedule.

Ryan Day inherited a team with Justin Fields, JK Dobbins, Chris Olave, Garret Wilson, among numerous other NFL talents. Sherrone Moore chose to ride with….checks notes…former walk-on Davis Warren and Alex Orji. One is not like the other. It makes perfectly good sense once you take the blinders off. It’s even more alarming that a defensive minded coach with two supposed top 10 talents weren’t competitive at home in his first real test. It’s only going to be a matter of time before we start talking about when to pull the band-aid, not if.
-
Ryan Day went undefeated and won the B10 his first season. Ohio State also had insanely better on-field talent than Sherrone Moore so no I didn’t feel the same way. If Michigan had 5* at every position I probably wouldn’t have the same feelings.
-
I dislike Michigan the same way I dislike Notre Dame, Ohio St, etc. I don’t treat them any differently, just call it like I see it. Had the same concerns with Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame after trying to replace a top college football coach.
-
They won’t see an offense like Texas the rest of the year but their lack of playmakers and inept QB play is going to keep almost every game close. Will come down to Moore’s ability to coach. I’m guessing after this season a good portion of the Michigan faithful is going to hope the NCAA comes down hard on Moore in his connection to the Stalions case that forces Michigan’s hand.
-
They had quick triggers on Rich Rod and somewhat with Hoke. They aren’t going to give Moore 4-5 years like Notre Dame is seemingly going to do with Freeman. It was a give up hire from the start. A team coming off a national title should have produced plenty of quality candidates, almost all more qualified than Moore. Just an opinion but Michigan not bringing in a QB from the portal was strike 1 and will reflect this season accordingly.

They couldn’t handle Dangerfield who ran for nearly 150 yards and 2 scores. Cathedral averaged nearly 6 ypc which makes kicking a FG on 4th and inches inside the 10 yard line even that more perplexing considering St. X had used all their timeouts. -
Who gets fired first: Sherron Moore or Marcus Freeman? The obvious answer should be Marcus Freeman but something tells me Michigan isn’t going to hang on to a bad investment long. Both are in over their head.

Made him look like the real deal. St. X fans are as hardcore as it gets and a lot of them were done with him after last season. Apparently they feel there is a converted receiver who is the better option that will likely start next year for his senior season. He’s quick and was good at keeping plays alive with his feet, but you’re going to complete a lot of passes when the defense you’re playing gives receivers as much cushion as Cathedral did Friday night. Cathedral wins that game if they go for it on 4th and inches at the 5 yard line instead of kicking a FG. Never had a chance once that decision was made. -
Saw Phish there in April. All I can say is.....WOW.
