  1. NP in this scenario is New Palestine. New Prairie wouldn't be a candidate to join the MIC.
  2. Because an unranked team with home losses to Marshall and Stanford isn’t going to jump all the way up to #12. Just not how the AP poll works this late in the season. In regards to Clemson, this type of loss has been building all year. They’ve been rather unimpressive all year and their initial #4 ranking in the CFP was on name brand alone. Offense is a mess and they’re getting average QB play at best. They severely lack playmakers out on the perimeter.
  3. I think you can if that 2 loss LSU team is the SEC champion. To answer your second question, there isn’t, but thankfully to you’re point it doesn’t really matter as the OSU-UM game will be a de-facto play-in game. Bigger question for Tuesday night, is Michigan or UT #3. That may matter down the road especially if TCU doesn’t win out. My guess at the top 5 1. UGA 2. OSU 3. UM 4. UT 5. TCU
  4. You get the feeling that Brohm already has one foot out the door? He had two weeks to prepare for Iowa and came up with that game plan? Something isn’t adding up. Purdue was gifted with such a dream schedule that anything less than 8-4 would have to feel like a major disappointment. Very real chance Purdue is .500 with two games left on the schedule after next week.
  5. USC is going to have to score 50 points in each of those games to have a prayer. USC defense is absolutely atrocious.
  6. If, and it’s a big if, does LSU get in if they win out? I know, 2 losses, but they’ll have wins over Georgia, Bama, and Ole Miss and will have the SEC champ tag and I just refuse to believe the committee will leave out the SEC champion.
  7. Kelly is a phenomenal coach, in OT with Bama currently. He’ll win a national title there.
  8. Notre Dame was a bigger underdog in 2020 than they were tonight, Lawrence or no Lawrence.
  9. Define good team? The Clemson team Kelly beat 2 years ago was a hell of a lot better than the Clemson team on the field tonight. Clemson comically overrated.
  10. He looked entirely in over his head when I made the comment almost 8 weeks ago. ND has rebounded nicely. When he consistently wins 10 games a year like Kelly he can join the conversation.
  11. If you can’t understand how Monrovia benefitted from a system that doesn’t recognize regular season success to the tune of drawing not only the worst team the sectional, but the worse team in 3A, on top of being on the opposite side of the bracket as the three best teams in that sectional, well I can’t help you.
  12. Monrovia literally played the worst team in 3A in their first round matchup which unequivocally wouldn’t have happened in a format the appropriately seeded the sectionals, let alone implemented a qualifier. But congrats to Monrovia nonetheless.
  13. Much better defensive effort tonight. Irish dominated the time of possession 2:1 and ran 75 plays to LC’s 43. Close game at half until Cathedral pulled away in the second half. Couple key guys went out injured but looked like everyone returned. On to Brownsburg.
  14. Hard to call it a community when it's that big, I think that's the on-going issue. A town (really a city now) with 100k+ people and only one public high school is going to be a tough sell for all-in involvement. Schools that rival Carmel; Zionsville, Westfield, HSE, Fishers, Noblesville still feel like communities and all seem to have much more involvement and pride. I've always wondered what a two high school system in Carmel would look like; Carmel East and Carmel West. Obviously they'd lose their overall athletic profile which dominates the state, but both a West and East high school would still be very overly competitive in just about every sport.
  15. Yeah worded that wrong. Should read: *Playing in its 3rd consecutive 6a title
  16. Yes I would agree that isn't the end of the world, but have heard there is some pretty major disconnect between the high school program and the youth and feeder leagues. It's currently not structured very well and there is very little influence being pushed from the top. They all seem to run independently from one another and there's just not much cohesion between all parties. That's not the Carmel I used to know.
  17. I don't know exact numbers and for how long its been trending down but it appears, at least on the surface, the Carmel's Hamilton County peers have caught up to them and in Westfield's case, likely surpassed them. Decent chance Westfield is playing for its 3rd consecutive 6A title here in the coming weeks.
