  1. The state of Indiana only produced nine 4* prospects to begin with, so if you expect IU to compete in the B10 then obviously they are going to have to look elsewhere for talent. Not sure what else you want? https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings/?InstitutionGroup=Highschool&State=IN
  2. Center Grove will continue to be at the epicenter of Indiana High School regardless of conference affiliation, which is the most overrated aspect of Indiana High School Football. Conference games are nothing more than placeholders on the schedule as conference championships don't guarantee anything past the regular season. A program of Center Grove's caliber can navigate as an independent and their availability for marquee games will be in high demand across Indiana and the Midwest. This will arguably make the Trojan football program stronger. That state university just pulled in its best recruiting class of all-time despite going 2-10 and finished in the top 20 nationally. Painting a picture that Indiana is pulling in 2 and 3 star recruits from Florida isn't accurate at all. Indiana is pulling in multiple 4 stars from Florida who all had legitimate SEC offers. I'd rather Indiana University put the best possible talent on the field regardless of home town. You've been a proponent for years that recruiting rankings and stars are the end be all in college football and now that Indiana is finally starting to recruit at a high level you want them to change? What gives?
  3. 1. Weiss is so ready to call plays that he has to share duties with someone who also hasn’t called plays? 2. Why’d the recruit de-commit and why did Gattis get divorced around the same time? What’s that saying about smoke and fire? 3. I cited his Vandy days because it’s the only destination he’s had actual play calling duties. Duh. 4. How many DC’s has Harbaugh hired that are as inexperienced and green as Minter? 5. Completely irrelevant
  4. So promoting TWO guys who have zero experience combined calling plays is somehow an upgrade? If only Gattis could resist the mothers of recruits. And don’t get me started on hiring a DC away from a team that finished 118th in the country last year. I’m an IU fan, my Alma Mater.
  5. Lol. Neither of those are upgrades nor the flex you think it is.
  6. Bob--You didn't know? Temptation has boots on the ground up in Ann Arbor and they told him everything is going to be alright. Optics of Harbaugh interviewing and preparing to leave on National Signing Day was all smoke and Michigan is now in a better place because of it. The Frank Broyles award winner leaving was just part of the process, nothing to worry about.
  7. @temptation Offensive coordinator up and leaving for a lateral job. Defensive coordinator position still unfilled. No 8 million/yr contract announced yet as you promised. Good optics eh? ”Boots on the ground”. LOL
  8. Who knows. But I bet he comes better prepared to his next interview if/when the time comes!!
  9. I will. There's a reason he's still at Michigan and it's not why you think it is. But I do understand the need to rationalize.
  10. Been a fan of Jim Harbaugh ever since I attended the Jim Harbaugh show as a kid and got an on television interview! I think he's better suited for the NFL than in college, I've said that from day 1. I believe he royally screwed himself out of another shot in the NFL for the way he conducted himself with the Vikings. I can understand why you as a Michigan fan feel the need to rationalize what all happened knowing that Harbaugh wanted a change of scenery. It's perfectly normal fan behavior. You won't convince me that Harbaugh is the coach of Michigan today because he wants to be, he didn't have any other choice after Wednesday.
  11. For someone as arrogant and egotistical as Jim Harbaugh, it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if he approached the interview in that manner. The article you linked is after the fact. I have very little doubt that Jim Harbaugh on his way to Minnesota thought there was zero percent chance in the world he would be returning to Michigan as the coach of the Wolverines. ZERO. Harbaugh clearly has/had one foot out the door, this isn't the media giving not giving Harbaugh a fair shake. The article you linked this morning is Harbaugh's way of going on damage control. I don't believe his intention was to ever dick over his alma mater, but at the same time it was never his intention to return either. Harbaugh claiming that Michigan is where he's always wanted to have been, being 100% committed along with the rest of that BS is an attempt to save face; I didn't get the job I wanted but I'm also still employed elsewhere and I want to keep it that way. It's classic coachspeak and honestly how any normal person would act if caught in situation Harbaugh was caught in. And I wasn't necessarily talking about future recruits. But the notion of showing up to a job interview with the impression it was your job to lose and then subsequently returning to a position you were ready to leave because you ultimately didn't get it looks "bad". Harbaugh can say he's 100% committed, done exploring other opportunities, etc all he wants, doesn't mean it's actually true. He did and was ready to take the Vikings job after all until it wasn't available.
  12. Says who? You? Your "boots on the ground"? Proof, link? It's not plausible that Harbaugh came in completely over his head because he assumed the job was his and was simply there waiting to sign the offer sheet? You really think all these in the interview process are just making up the fact that Harbaugh acted out of line in his interview? And while that's admirable and actually refreshing in today's climate, you and I both know that Harbaugh was dead set on taking the Vikings job had it been offered. You yourself Wednesday morning conceded to the fact that Harbaugh was gone. Why else interview? To fleece Michigan for a contract extension that hasn't happened? Why wouldn't Michigan offer a contract extension BEFORE he interviewed with the Vikings? Likely because he told Michigan he was leaving for the NFL. As far as the Mitch Albom article you linked, again what is Harbaugh supposed to say AFTER the fact, "I'm back at Michigan only because I didn't get the Vikings job". Yeah that would have gone over well. I'm sure the recruits who committed to Michigan are in fact happy that the coach who recruited them to Ann Arbor is going to be their coach after all. Not really any kind of Earth shattering revelation.
  13. I'd be rubbed the wrong way too if I was interviewing someone who already though the job was theirs and our time was just part of the formality process. It's pretty clear Harbaugh was turned off when in fact he found out the job wasn't already his. If only his agent conveyed that to him prior to the interview....oh wait he doesn't have one. Bad optics on Harbaugh's part and just looks dumb in the process. Oh well, it's a win for Michigan.
  14. So the Vikings GM is fabricating that Harbaugh was his #1 choice but Harbaugh failed to win over the owners during his interview? Sounds like quite a days work for a newly hired GM.
  15. No need for a spat. Like Harbaugh, you've already showed your hand. "Temp obviously has an in with Michigan". Stop.
  16. Temp has an "in" with Michigan? What are you talking about? Temp knows about as much about Michigan as you or I. Temp (just like everybody else) already conceded to Harbaugh leaving for the NFL, read his posts on THIS thread on page 3 paralleling that. It's more than comical that Temp is now buying into this notion that Harbaugh somehow got cold feet at the alter during the 11th hour and backed out to return to Michigan. Harbaugh saying anything else is just coachspeak at this time, what the hell else are you supposed to say upon returning to a job that you were dead set on leaving. *I deeply apologize if your post was sarcastic. That's the only other way I can read it. "Temp has an in with Michigan"...gold.
  17. "Botched", "Screwed up", "Acted like an idiot"....all the same thing. Harbaugh didn't wow the Vikings owners for a job he thought was already his and they told the new GM to go find somebody else.
  18. What is there to get?!?!? He's back at Michigan only because he didn't get the Vikings job. Where else was he going to go at that point? How hard is this to understand? Do you really think Harbaugh isn't in Minneapolis full time if he didn't screw up his interview? Are all the people and sources who were part of the interview process coming out and saying Harbaugh acted like an idiot in his interview lying??
  19. Lol. You interview for one of two reasons in this kind of industry: 1) You're genuinely interested in the job with the expectation you're going to accept the position if offered or 2) You interview or blow enough smoke about interviewing for another job so that you can possess the leveraging power in negotiating a better contract from your current employer. Neither happened with Harbaugh. Harbaugh was dead set on taking the Vikings job and in fact thought and acted like the job was already his when he interviewed. He was the Vikings GM #1 choice as they had previous ties back to when he coached the 49ers. But he botched the interview with the owners who were turned off by his antics. As far as Harbaugh saying he's 100% committed to Michigan, always wanted to be there, yada yada....what the hell else is he supposed to say?? He got rejected from a job that he truly wanted and has nowhere else to go but back to Michigan. Nothing but damage control from here on out as he had already told players and recruits that he wanted to coach again in the NFL. Happy for you though that Harbaugh is back.
  20. I’ll wait for that contract extension. He already showed his hand, and failed.
  21. So Harbaugh interviewed for the Vikings job for the hell of it??? Lol ok
  22. So Harbaugh botched his interview with the Vikings thinking it was just a formality and part of the process and now can’t leverage a raise after taking his team to the college football playoff a year removed from taking a 50% pay cut? Yikes.
  23. Honest question. Where does Michigan turn this late in the game? Similar situation happened to Michigan State about this time two years ago and while they took some lumps year 1 they came out alright. They wouldn't promote Gattis or Michigan Man Mike Hart would they?
  24. Because Harbaugh is better suited coaching in the NFL. He doesn’t have to worry about recruiting or developing kids and instead can focus solely on coaching X’s and O’s, which is by far his strongest suit. With Rodgers likely moving on, Vikings become the team to beat in the NFC north. Harbaugh has two very skilled WR’s in Thielen and Jefferson + an all-pro RB in Dalvin Cook to work with and Harbaugh is known to get the best out of mediocre NFL QB’s.
