  1. Carmel would walk away with the 6A title if D1 prospects were the deciding factor.
  2. Is Prather coming back this year for Morton? Man, I think they had Highland beat in OT if they wouldn't have missed the PAT at the end of the 4th Quarter. Morton controlled that 2nd half and was pushing Highland around by the end of the 4th.
  3. Some renovations made sense like CG, Westfield, Brownsburg. They needed the capacity and fans show up. It’s not always a packed house, but the crowds are large. Ben Davis and Warren were cosmetic makeovers. The current visitor side (old home seating) at each stadium is more than enough to accommodate the crowds each school brings to home games. The funding may have been private, it it doesn’t change the fact there was no real value added by building new home seating at BD and Warren.
  4. They’re primarily moving into downtown. I don’t see how that’s going to benefit the townships that still have a suburban feel to them. At the end of the day they’ll still move out to the ‘burbs when it’s time to raise kids.
  5. I don’t know if they made improvements over the years, but I used to have to sit through the madness of The Hillside Strangler back in the early 2000’s when I lived in Downers Grove and wanted to take the Eisenhower into the city at night. That’s where 290, 88, and 294 traffic merges to form the eastbound Eisenhower in Hillside. Now that’s traffic! I once got stuck in standstill traffic at the 94 and Congress interchange in The Loop at 10 PM on a Sunday night. Friday night on 465 is a racetrack minus some congestion on eastbound 465 between Keystone and Allisonville. . Honestly, for us Hamilton County folk, getting out to Avon is probably more time consuming than taking 465 around to the south side for CG, which is pretty easy to get to from 37 or Meridian via East Street/Thompson Road. Avon is about 100 stop lights on Rockville until you get to Dan Jones Road.
  6. This isn’t Chicago, LA, Atlanta, etc. I could get to CG from Noblesville within an hour on a Friday night. That’s a piece of cake for such a long distance.
  7. That’s a helluva scoop. Without knowing IHSAA rules, I’d I imagine WC will cancel for the same reason mentioned by the PP coach: Insurance Liability.
  8. Here’s a link to the game. It’s at the 2:39:50 mark when Ville was facing 4th and 19 at the end of the 4th quarter. https://www.ihsaatv.org/schedule-and-replays?sort=replay
  9. Margin victory is a meaningless data point when you historically win off of defense and not a high scoring offense. On paper CP is easily a double digit underdog. Just saying don’t be surprised if they played Jeff and the Bulldog D forced Jeff to play Crown Point’s game.
  10. Yikes, Merrillville, a team with size and speed, has no shot against Jeff? Don’t overlook Crown Point in Sectional 1 either. They have a knack for lulling teams to sleep in 20-14 type games and finding ways to win.
  11. Maybe Peebles is a great coach who was able to overcome the many flaws within LC’s program.
  12. This same stuff was about a high powered passing offense was said a few years ago by some chesty Plymouth fans and NP left Plymouth with a Sectional Title. Nobody from the NLC is going to dominate a good Radtke team in the playoffs, especially if he’s burning up clock with the wishbone. His comment about Penn being bad is laughable. The list of NLC teams capable of beating Mishawaka and Penn in the same year is slim to none.
  13. I was under the assumption 5A was put on notice when Cathedral took Elder and St. X to the wire. IMO, besting Trinity like this further solidified the fact as opposed to creating it.
  14. The sleeper nobody is mentioning! Does Radtke have another team capable of reaching Thanksgiving weekend?
  15. Well, apparently I misread and it was on Porter County TV. Great comeback from Valpo. Crazy ending. Merrillville almost got away with a blatant Offensive PI on that last TD that was called back. Not sure I saw the penalty they actually called. Blocking in the back? The production crew really needs to scrap the field level view. It’s awful and they’re usually late on switching back to press box view.
  16. This one will air live tonight at 8 ET on ihsaatv.org courtesy of WJOB out of Hammond.
  17. I think Ohio State has looked unbelievably impressive and I've heard multiple analysts say Fields is the best NFL prospect of college QB's. But, similiar to Alabama, they haven't really played anyone great. Still, credit is due to absolutely annihilating the competition, especially in Lincoln on a Saturday night.
  18. Carmel North Central Center Grove Warren Central
  19. Rensselaer Western Lafayette Central Catholic Tipton Harrison North Newton Parke Heritage Carmel Eastern Hancock West Lafayette
  20. Good test for the LSU defense this weekend. Utah State's QB is a potential 1st round pick.
  21. Yeah, it was brutal. Minny WR’s were wide open on slants across the middle. I would not be surprised to see Holt relieves of his DC duties after this year.
  22. 1. Alabama 2. LSU (giving them credit for winning at Texas and the rejuvenated offense) 3. Ohio State (I would take Saban vs. Mike Day on a neutral field, which we could very well end up seeing) 4. Georgia 5. Oklahoma (Riley's offense will demolish the Big 12 and put up at least 25 in a playoff game. The question is can Hurts complete the big passes against an Elite secondary in the Playoff?) 6. Wisconsin (In typical Wisky fashion they play down to Northwestern) 7. Clemson (Honestly, could just be going through the motions and would look like #1 if playing a Top 10 team) 8. Auburn (True Frosh QB. Guz is always coaching for his job. Not a good recipe for an undefeated season) 9. Notre Dame 10. Texas
  23. I believe in Brohm and I completely understand we're playing way too much youth to be successful. But, I'm still frustrated he didn't raid the Juco market int he off-season for some immediate help on the lines. PJ Fleck inherited a complete mess at Minnesota despite the Gophers coming off a 9 win season. He had to dismiss a lot of players and start from scratch. I've read he started with the lines and I think it's paying earlier dividends vs. Brohm's 3 years. I would take Brohm in the long run, but it's frustrating to see Row The Boat be more successful in year 3 vs. Brohm. That week 1 loss to Nevada really stings too. They just lost, at home, to Hawaii by a count of 54-3. Fifty Four to Three. Ouch.
