  1. He won 2 State Titles early at Moe, but was 5-5, 4-6, and 4-7 by the time he resigned. Perhaps, the big resume was smoke and mirrors of a career heading int the wrong trajectory.

  4. Exactly. Plus, the defending champs still have a lot of talent, especially on offense with a QB going to James Madison and a 6'4 WR going to Miami(OH). They tore up a solid Evansville Memorial defense last year.
  5. Interesting. I thought he was hurt last year as well and missed a few games. My mistake.
  6. I haven't followed CG close enough to know what's going on other than Steele being hurt, so I'm curious to know why you feel that way. Are there other impact players that are currently out? Regarding Steele, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but is this two years in a row he's been limited by a hamstring injury? At some point counting on Steele to play like he did as a Freshman might be a pipe dream. Unfortunately, the kid could be a few plays away from shutting it down for the season, which may benefit him in the long run.
  7. That depends on Luke Goode. He’s a 6’5 or 6’6 four star at shooting guard. I’d be curious to see who would offer him if he he told colleges he was playing QB instead of basketball. Their TE is going to Bowling Green and they have a 6’4 Jr. WR who will likely play D1 football. I know Brownsburg has the offensive talent, I’m just not a fan of what I saw in the 2nd half against St. X and the entire game against Avon. Passing game was too vanilla and, especially against Avon, they tried forcing the run. Over 30 carries. Avon’s front 7 shut it down all night. FWIW’s, I’m still picking Hamilton Co. in the North. I’m just really intrigued by this Homestead offense.
  8. I watched that game. The play calling wasn’t very favorable for Brownsburg’s passing attack. Nothing imaginative. Practically limited to throwing deep balls to the WR heading to Purdue in 2 years. I would take Homestead’s passing O to cause Avon fits IF, big IF, Homestead could handle Avon’s D-Line. That 6’3 TE for Homestead opens up the middle.
  9. Noblesville possibly will, but I don’t think it’s a bad look in the SAC. The HCC is a conference full of Homestead’s and Carroll’s. Noblesville doesn’t get an off week with North, South, Wayne, Northrop, or smaller private schools. I’ve seen quite a lot of Homestead on Summit City Sports. IMO, they have the offense that could possibly ruin the MIC party on Thanksgiving weekend. They are huge offensively with good skill in the passing game. I don’t have their line size, but the skills are: 6’6 QB, 6’0 205 WR, 6’4 WR, and a 6’3 230 TE has committed to Bowling Green. The QB is an Iowa basketball recruit who isn’t a stiff. That TE is a monster who seemingly catches everything thrown to him across the middle.
  10. Yeah, I imagine that is a staff that is used to handling adversity throughout a game. On an annual basis they’re facing a GCL South schedule, Colerain, Indiana powers, Louisville powers, and Ohio powers from up state. Then, throw in the Ohio Division 1 playoffs. They are put through the ringer!

  13. But that’s against our O and the turds they played in week 1. Curious to see how they fair in the Big 12 this year.
  14. Nope. Seems better when they had Geffert though. Outside of Highland, the 45th street corridor through west Lake Co. is a disaster.
  15. Too lazy and disappointed to look it up, but I think we’ll over 50% of the roster is freshmen and sophomore’s eligibility wise. We have zero depth and the line play, especially O line, is atrocious. I’m conflicted on putting blame on Brohm for not fixing the line in 3 years, or giving him a pass due to the youth. Tiller at least had veterans to build good lines around in year 1. Could Brohm really not develop any of Hazells recruits?
  16. And to think Ben Geffert left the HC job at his alma mater to join this sinking ship.
  17. #1 for Southport should sit out a game. That was a well timed cheapshot and he followed it up with taunting. Congrats toughguy. You’re part of a secondary that was torched.

  19. Is Hurt related to the Hurt who plays RB at Ball State? Michigan City had a lot of self inflicted mistakes in their loss to Warsaw and pulled away late to beat Chesterton. I have a feeling Valpo wins by double digits. The Vikings D is too good and they now have an offense.
  20. Fighting with the other RB on the sideline, yikes. Hasn’t this kid had a history of in game blowups that lead to penalties? Sounds like he has anger management issues that I hope he resolves.
  21. It's literally a "no-win" situation to get to Lake Central from the East. You take 30 west from I-65 and you'll sit through endless stoplights and suburban congestion on 30. You take 94 West to Indianapolis Blvd and you'll likely sit in Borman Expressway traffic in Gary and Hammond.
  22. DT, just last year you were calling on Penn to go Independent and adopt a Midwest schedule. Now, you're flipping the script and using the past 5 years as a data point? I'm not buying it. You're over-reacting based on lopsided losses to Valpo and Homewood-Flossmoor. I will agree though that Penn should look west towards the DAC, which is the same belief I had last year.
