We have made it to week 1! Plainfield @ TH South- Plainfield should be contending for the Mid-State this year and have a chance to make a serious run in 5A South. Plainfield 28-17 Mooresville @ Bloomington North- How do the Pioneers rebound after losing some serious talent. Tough test week 1 for a new starting QB. Bloomington North 24-20 Greenwood @ Seymour- Greenwood 31-14 BNL @ Martinsville- Looking to build on some of last years momentum. Good test to start the season. Martinsville 24-14 New Albany @ Franklin- Coach Coll had the Cubs back on track last season after a couple of down years. Franklin 31-21 Whiteland @ Jeffersonville- Last years state runner ups look to open up with a large victory. Whiteland 49-10 DC @ Columbus North- Does DC rebound from it's worst season in 10+ years? Should be right in the mix to contend for the mid state and 5A South again this season. DC 28-21 FC @ Perry- FC 38-7

I'll take another 5A school in the Mid-State to continue to dominate. DC had a down year, but they have won the conference 7 out of the last 8 years? They do not benefit from the SES like Whiteland will, but I don't see them not competing with Whiteland (or beating them constantly) for the foreseeable future.

I think Plainfield and DC are both going to be better than Whiteland in the Mid-State. Pretty solid list overall.

Decatur Central's Bo Polston has now been offered by Indiana. Bo Polston, Decatur Central, Quarterback (247sports.com) Would expect the first of MANY for the young man.

That passing academy for the Gillins has been a nice tool for them to bring in some great qbs. Like I said, they will be competitive as long as Gillin is there. He's won everywhere he's been at. One of the best to ever coach in the state. If he were still at DC I would imagine he'd have a state championship or two by now.

Younger Gillin is at IC. Mooresville will remain competitive until the Mike G decides to hang it up. They are losing a previous top 5-10 qb in the state though.

Last year was the first year since 2015 Decatur Central has not had at least a share of the Mid-State title. They will continue to be the odds on favorite to win year in and year out until proven otherwise. I'll take DC vs the field this year.

Now adding Brownsburg to the mix....this is getting ridiculous lol...

Off topic here...my main argument is that Avon belongs. I would think Bless would fit this description as well. It's not John Hart money, but it's still a pretty penny to coach.

A state championship in both Volleyball and Track in the past 5 years seem to say they'd be okay in some sports....wrestling is generally a top 10 program in the state. Bless has made the football team competitive in the HCC including a conference championship in 2019... I'm sure DC's F/R/L is much higher than the average in the Mid-State...doesn't mean you can't compete....Avon is still affluent in a large part of the town...again....they'll be alright.

I don't think any school in the HCC will win anything besides the school that has 3x the enrollment of most of the schools, in most cases. I don't see them all abandoning ship. The HCC schools (including Avon) are growing at a rapid rate. They'll be fine.

Avon wants no part of that. Not happening. Per very reliable inside source.

Marian becomes their stiffest competition for recruiting. Knights are 2-0 vs the Hounds as well...

Technically, if were going off the "best football player in the state" that title would go to Desan McCullough out of Bloomington South according to any recruiting site.

The HCC will take them.

When is it expected that CG and Carmel try to make the move to the HCC?

The Mason Inn in Pittsboro is a good spot. Down the road, in Brownsburg, there Dawson's Too with some great food and a good bar.

Plainfield has a WR going to Iowa and another WR who is pretty dang good. They had probably the best WR duo in all of 5A this year.

I think you'd have trouble finding 7 better teams in the state regardless of class.

Cathedral 42-14...I think all eyes are going to be on the matchup looming on Oct. 15th....Will be 2 of the best teams in the entire nation taking the field that night
