The conference is Judson's to lose. Really interested to see if North Miami can make some noise in the new conference. I don't know if Winamac wins a conference game this year folks, good experience for the young guys this year tho hope they can stay healthy. Bold prediction on the year, Caston beats both Winamac and Pioneer in the same year for the first time in probably school history, you heard it right here first. Good luck to the conference. Some really good football played throughout the years from this conference. Hopefully it continues with the new look.

Culver-  Because Attica is seeking their first win in 3 years.
South Central- SC starts their season off with a win before coming up on 2 tough weeks.
Carroll-Not sure what Carroll has returned but think they continue to be decent.
NJSP- Knox thinks they'll run all over them with their speed and they might but I'm staying a homer and picking the Jays. Big key for the jays is containing the outside/big plays.
LaVille- Toss up and should be a good game. Very interested to see what both teams look like this year.
North Miami- NM looking for revenge of last years game and the excitement they have for being in a new conference propels them to a win.
Pioneer- I think Pioneer ends the regular season 7-2 and this won't be one of their losses.
WC- No idea

Culver and South Central will be games winamac has a good chance at winning.

North Miami and Caston are games they should compete in.

West Central and Frontier would probably be better games if it were later in the year.

Attica at Culver

Attica has had a long string of losses for the last couple of seasons based on what John Harrell has. Don't know much about them. Culver is certainly interesting knowing that they lost a couple of good seniors. Don't know what the Cavs are going to do this year, but the this game to me is a 50/50 tossup. Culver 23 Attica 20

Bowman at South Central

South Central 42 Bowman 6

Caston at Carroll

Caston really showed a lot of resiliency last season. They struggled, but they were definitely a team that was not afraid to go up against the giants. I think that this game will help prepare them for the season and should show some great things. I'm not sure what Carroll is bringing back from last year and it should fun to hear about their success as they are a favorite in the north.

Carroll 35 Caston 12

Knox at Judson

Battle of Starke County continues to live on. Judson the favorites in the north and in the conference with Knox bringing back a lot, as well. If Judson is able to contain and keep things between the tackles, I see it being closer. However, I don't foresee Judson being able to keep up.

Knox 42 Judson 24

Northfield at North Miami

This should be a fun game for both. From the sounds of it North Miami should have a solid footing, but I am not sure what their numbers look like. Time will tell how North Miami will adjust to the conference and maybe a surprising team in the HNAC. Not sure what Northfield brings to the table, but this should be a pretty good game for both teams.

North Miami 21 Northfield 14

Pioneer at Cass

Another tale of the Panthers comes this year as they look to bring back their winning edge. Not sure what the numbers situation is at Pioneer, just know they should have a good class of Freshmen that will take over in the coming years. Cass should have another solid season as they enter their second season in the TRC.

Cass 28 Pioner 14

West Central at Winamac

WC is a team that isn't helped by their schedule and not sure how much they lost from graduation. Winamac, should be the favorite, but don't know what they have put together this summer.

Winamac 21 WC 13

LaVille at Triton

After watching Triton scrimmage Jimtown on Friday, teams should be put on notice that this defense is going to cause some problems. The scrimmage could not have been more perfect for Triton. Jimtown's speed is only going to help Triton match the speed of LaVille and Bremen. Triton is only going to get better as the season progresses. Now for LaVille, I think that this is going to be a tough season. For them, they need to peak at the right time. They have a really tough schedule and they need to get off on the right foot. This game is going to be a game of inches and will be a really great game and can see this coming down to who has the ball last.

Triton 28 LV 27

Culver- Binion should have a good game.

South Central- heard they lost a lot from last year.

Carroll-Caston could finish around .500

Judson... only because I like Rabe Frasure haha.

Triton.. gotta go with conference team.

North Miami.. see above.

Cass... only because of Clayton Mannering.

Winamac

Can't pick the trojans

Winamac only has 4 seniors, start a freshman at QB and only have 6 varsity regulars back from last year. I think Garner up front, Addison Allen as a featured guy and Tearson Wolford will have good seasons.. will be interesting to see how Xavier Adriano does. Kids got a lot of talent but is only a freshman.

I think they beat Frontier, but that isn't a conference game. Just going off of the teams Rochester has seen in the summer and seeing Winamac Friday, it's what I'm predicting. I'm sure they will be competitive in most if not all the games you listed. I just don't see them winning most if not all of them.

Culver

SC

Carroll

All eyes will be on 3A #5 Knox at 1A #1 North Judson..Knox lost a lot up front on both sides of the ball, but return arguably two of the best RB’s in northern part of state. NJ returns basically everyone from SS team.  I think NJ will do enough to contain the great backs of Knox.

Laville

NM

Pioneer

West Central

Knox, lost a tackle on offense and a end on defense. This is a lot?

The digest book says two Olineman and a tight end on offense. Two on the defensive side as well. Were each of those more like a rotator guy than a true starter? Depending on how good of a blocker the tight end was in that offense, that could be consider a big hit in the line upfront. The book isn't always too accurate or specific, so I'm sure you know better than the rest of us if they really lost a lot or not.

I am newer here, so for that forgive me. I didn't even know there was a book. Lol. I just was speaking in terms of the kids I new were the true starters for the ol and dl. There are a lot of kids that do indeed get roated. We'll 3 or 4.

I get you.

No doubt it could be a rough year but I'm pretty excited about some of the kids that return (Wolford, Garner, Allen, Cody Wheeler, Ethan Burgess and Aiden Schooler) and it'll be interesting to see how Louis Rugg, Xavier Adriano and some of the new faces do.

I read somewhere that Winamac has 19 kids from 10th through 12th but 59 in 6th through 9th. It's gonna be a couple years before the numbers get back up but 2026 and 2027 should be the years to really compete.

Sorry, just going off games I saw and maxpreps showed both OT’s, TE, and Qb (although maybe not on field qb)

Both DE’s, DT, both inside LBers, corner and safety weren’t seniors?

maxpreps listed Sr…maybe their class wrong

We did pretty much loose the secondary. But lost one lb, one defensive of end. There were two seniors that started ol takle to begin the year with. Left takle was there and solid all year. Right takle was gone for 3/4 of the year with knee Injury. I was only talking about ol and dl. But yes they did loose pretty much the whole secondary.

These early season picks are just a crap shoot.  I have no idea what some of these teams are going to bring this year.  So here we go...

Attica at Culver - Unless Attica has really turned things around, this should be a solid Culver win.  Cavaliers 29-6

Bowman at South Central - I can't imagine Bowman beating South Central.  The Satellites need to get off to a good start if they have hopes of making a splash in the HNAC.  Satellites 35-14

Caston at Carroll - Caston ended last season with a 49-6 loss Carroll.  My guess is that it will be a bit closer, but still a Comet loss.  Cougars 42-14

Knox at North Judson - This one should live up to the hype!  It's a great rivalry matchup to start the season!  I'm taking Knox.  It appears Radtke is putting Knox's career rushing leader behind center and getting the ball in his hands on every play (see Pioneer / Kiser playbook).  I can't see many defenses handling that pressure.  Judson is going to have a great year, but they start with an L.  Redskins 28-21

LaVille at Triton - This should also be a great game!  I'm thrilled that LaVille and Bremen are Triton's non-conference games.  It's great to see those rivalries continue.  I think Triton might be a little better than some think.  (Zero votes in the 1A coaches poll.)  With the Lancers moving to the new INSC they could really use this win to kickstart the season.  Additional wins might be hard to come by!  But I'm taking Triton at home.  Trojans 20-14

Northfield at North Miami - I don't know anything about either team.  I know the Norsemen always played Triton strong when they were on the schedule.  I'm taking Northfield.  Norsemen 33-21

Pioneer at Cass - I look for Pioneer and Triton to contend for 2nd place in the HNAC this year.  They'll beat Cass to start the season.  Panthers 24-14

West Central at Winamac - West Central will probably win plenty of games with the schedule they play.  But not this one.  Warriors 19-6

Attica at Culver: Attica and Culver are gonna fight for their first win of the year after struggling last year. Culver will take it though in a tight game.

Bowman at SCUM: don’t know much about either yet so this is a toss up for me. I’ll take SCUM.

Caston at Carroll: Caston has a great Freshman class coming in but Carroll is going to be coming out guns blazing. Carroll will take it by 3 touchdowns.

Knox at NJ: Knox returns most of their good skill players and I think that’ll be the difference. The trenches will be fun to watch. Knox by 14.

LaVille at Triton: This is mine and also I’d venture to say everyone’s game of the week! This will be a very close game. I think it’ll come down with who has the ball last and I’m going to say it’ll be LaVille at the end.

Northfield vs North Miami: New conference team so it’ll be interesting to see them at some point. Northfield is always strong. Northfield by 14.

Pioneer at Cass: Pioneer returns a lot of SOPHOMORE players last year that are going to make a difference as Juniors. Could be a close game or a blow out but either way I think Pioneer takes it.

West Central at Winamac: I think Winamac pulls out this win in another close game. It’ll be good to see them start strong!

You may be the only person outside of LaVille and Triton folks having this as the game of the week. lol It will be a good game but I'm guessing most are saying it's 1A #1 vs 3A #5 as the game of the week. (Who are also huge county rivals)
