FinePrint Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 Friday, Nov. 22 South Adams at North Judson, 8 pm Thoughts on this week's matchup? Two completely different styles of offense! Who wins it? Quote
TightEndOpenAgain Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 South Adams at North Judson: After seeing both teams in person, I don't see NJSP having much problem this week. Well over 2 hour trip for SA to what I think will be a very fired up Liberty Field. Weather forecast looks cold and windy. SA only really stopped North Miami 1 time inside the 5 yard line early. NM stopped a lot of their own drives with turnovers and penalties putting them well behind schedule. NJ will have a physicality advantage. SA team speed is very solid, but so of course are the Jays'. Interested to see which poison the Starfires choose. You can gameplan to take away either 48, 7, or 5. Incredibly tough to take away 2 of them. And I don't see any 1A team in Indiana having enough horsepower to take away all 3. NJ defense will be tested in a way it hasn't been this year. But I'm confident in saying they'll pass the test. 48-20 Boys in Blue Quote
littledog Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Think the jays handle their business and win this game by a 3-4 scores. They’ve been so focused on one goal since the season came to an end last year. This will be a tough game since you don’t see many 1A teams that can sling it like they can. It may take a couple of drives for them to adjust but Lambert and Co are great at making adjustments. jays win 63-28. Quote
FinePrint Posted November 22, 2024 Author Posted November 22, 2024 South Adams at North Judson - It would be pretty hard to pick against Judson this week, especially considering the weather conditions tonight. The Jays are focused and ready to finally punch their ticket to Lucas! I don't know that this will be a blowout, but a decisive win for the home team just the same. Blue Jays 36-14 Quote
hondo17 Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 I've been really trying to think of this game the last few days. I think Judsons line will get a pretty good push offensively and be able to put pressure on SA's QB. I do think SA could have success getting to the outside and spreading out the Jays defense via outside runs or passing. North Judson's pass defense hasn't been really tested all year (not their fault) If Judson does lose tonight, Kole Wilcox, Brock Benson and Jesiah McDaniel have had great careers along w the rest of the senior class. If SA loses, they gained so much experience that they'll be locked and loaded next year. Quote

The field conditions weren't great, and I hate to think was the Jays will look like on turf next week, as they still were able to run the ball effectively last evening. No issues with weather or wind for the most part. The Starfires have NOTHING to hang their heads about...GREAT RUN that will lead them to success as the ensuing years come about. Fun fact: Looked up in the end zone and who do I see? (the legend) Bud Wright! Special thanks to Coach Wright for all that he's brought to IN football. A lasting legacy that has son's who have already made impacts in their own "wright". 🙂 Quote

Definitely with punting, kick returning and in the secondary and not being able to run the option with him could make it difficult. I know providence pushed Lutheran to the brink last year but a lot of those guys graduated this past may but they still have a few of those guys back. It seems they use a variety of weapons running and receiving. South Putnam had a lot of good athletes all over the field and big/strong up front and nearly came back after being down 19. I think Providence has faced the tougher road (South Putnam and Milan) but Kole Wilcox and Brock Benson are more than capable of carrying the load if McDaniel still cant do much. It should be a good game. Really tough to debate 1A this year with the usual suspects Central Catholic, Adams Central, Indianapolis Lutheran and Linton Stockton all in 2A now. Spanky Harper Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Bluejay Football; a love story Semi-hard championship edition Written, edited, and dictated by Spanky Harper With a dip in muh lip and a tear in muh eye I can proudly say the Bluejays are going to state. I was just a lil sH!t the last time the Bluejays made it to Indy to play for a championship. I dreamed of the day when that gold helmet would be mine. I was so anxious the night before Coach Bill Ridley handed me that Riddell for the first time. I was concussed no less than 30 times that freshman season. It was a rite of passage. I could say so much about this team and I will. The mental resolve of this team is unquestioned. 3 years in a row all the Bluejays had to do was win in week 14 and they would punch their ticket to Lucas Oil. 3 years in a row they went home. But they didn’t go home and pout. They hunkered down on it. Grabbed life by the haunches and mounted it. Life is all about riding those waves. Ur gonna be high like me sometimes. Sometimes ur gonna be low like Root Allen. I am not going to pontificate on the weightlifting numbers, but they are significant. I will expound on the idea that the work ethic is something that has not been highlighted. Lots of people ask me, “Spanky, those boys are strong. What's in the water down there in Judson?” Well, the water is full of fluoride and roundup from the field runoff. But people miss the work ethic. Howd dem boys get so strong? They worked at it. Everyday. Every week. Every month. Every year. For four years. Some much longer than that. I can look in the mirror and still see that small boy who was dying to wear a gold helmet and a blue jersey. Dying to have Coach O scream at him to get down the line. Dying to run power for coach kevin brown. Dying to have the “Gare Bear” Gary Cox call his name to get into the game. Dying to get to state. I wish i could talk to that kid. Tell him that everything is gonna be alright. You wont make it state lil spanky as a player. But in many years, you will be there to watch these kids chase their dreams. The team's dreams. The dreams of an entire community. Then i’d put a dip in his lip and show him how to bore out the motor on an ‘89 fiero. Spankin By the Numbers 1st- North Semi-State Championship for Coach Lambert. 3rd- North Semi-State Championship for the North Judson Bluejays. 4th- State Finals appearance for the Bluejays. 14- the number of wins for the Bluejays. A school record. 2 Cents with Spanky Harper- keep the change South Adams- Mad respect. The defense played hard. Adams county has a great football tradition. Those coaches and players have a lot to look forward to. Hit the weight room and the buffet table. South Putnam- better luck next year. Id say hit the weights, but that wasnt the problem last night. Providence- see ya in indy. I have been cleared by muh PO to travel to Indy for the state title game. I have to be back in starke county by 5pm. We will be tailgating in the parking lot at 8am. Look for the tailgate with all the smoke rollin and Poison “nuttin but a good time” on repeat. Tell em spanky sent ya. SEE YINS @ STATE! 1 Quote

They work their butts off and continue to improve each year. 1 Quote

hondo17 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Seems McDaniel's ankle is still pretty bad? Quote
littledog Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Congrats to all that made All-Conference. Little surprised they named CJ as the Defensive MVP (just cuz he's a junior) but like i said earlier in the year I think he's the best player in the conference next year. 1 Quote
hondo17 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Kinda bugged me that Tearson Wolford didn't get all conference since he was winamacs leading rusher, had most touchdowns and 3rd on the team in tackles but I'm sure the kid will come out firing and be on a mission. Still think the Rans kid will be the best player in conference. It's gonna be Pioneer's to lose next season. Quote

He was, I think he was more deserving to be all conference but I'm not gonna go down that road and say which kid cause that's not fair nor right. 1 Quote

I should have been more clear. As I said on my Facebook at the time that Talen, Addison and Ethan were all 3 deserving of that honor and I also said i think Tearson should have been added to that list with them. Seems a couple parents misinterpreted what I said on here and do not follow me on Facebook and didn't see my whole post discussing it . Sorry for the response a month later. Quote
