FinePrint
How about we start a thread for the HNAC for the entire season. It makes it easier to go back and see posts from a previous week's games. So we'll just keep this one going through the 2024 season. I don't believe anyone picked all 8 games correctly last week. It seems the Triton and North Miami wins tripped up a lot of forecasters. Here are the games for this week: Friday, Aug. 30 North Judson at LaVille, 7:30 pm North White at Caston, 7 pm Pioneer at Knox, 7:30 pm Sheridan at North Miami, 7 pm South Central at Boone Grove, 8 pm Triton at Bremen, 7 pm West Central at Culver, 7:30 pm Winamac at Frontier, 7 pm There should be a handful of good ones. Who will surprise us this Friday night?
Trojan67
Games of the Week Pioneer at Knox I think I may have made the Redskin faithful a little upset about my comments over the weekend, but I stand behind what I said. They need to prepare and fix their mistakes because Pioneer are licking their chops. I am sure that during film session, the Panthers were excited and believed a little more that Knox is vulnerable. This is going to be a fun game and the Panther faithful need to believe. Give me Pioneer with the upset. Pioneer 28 Knox 24 Triton at Bremen I will just come out and say it. Bremen has no respect for Triton. Bremen goes into this matchup every year expecting to win, and rightfully so. Bremen has earned that right. But this year just feels (deep breath out)....different. After watching the Trojans on Friday, Bremen had better be prepared to be on defense a really long time and the Trojan defense to swarm that high flying offense. I expect Bremen to do something cute on their first possession of the second quarter because it wouldn't be a matchup if they didn't try to do something cute. Triton needs to play a perfect game and have no mistakes by correcting the ones they made last week. They have a huge task at hand with containing Laidig and Graverson, but I believe that the Trojans can and will come out on top. Triton 28 Bremen 21 Other games North Judson 42 LaVille 21 Caston 24 North White 20 Sheridan 35 NM 7 Boone Grove 42 SC 7 Culver 28 West Central 12 Frontier 28 Winamac 21 Edited August 27 by Trojan67 Changes
hondo17
Knox over Pioneer I wouldn't want to play against a ticked off Radtke, Mclaughlin and Conroy North Judson over LaVille don't think this will be close Caston over North White The young Comets get their first dub Sheridan over North Miami Boone Grove rolls SC West Central over Culver Culver is improving but I think WC has a little bit more talent. Winamac over Frontier Winamac moves to 2-0 Edited August 27 by hondo17

littledog
North Judson- Think Judson tries to make another statement this week against their main sectional oppenent. 48-6 Caston- Caston, the only HNAC team to lose week one, gets their first win of the season. 35-14 Knox- Think we find out a lot about these teams after this game. Is Pioneer back? Is knox just overrated? Knox wins 51-16 North Miami- Pulling for the HNAC. NM wins in a close one 28-26 Boone Grove-Don't know much about either team but going with similiar results to last year. BG 35-13 Triton- Triton looks to show last week was no mistake. Trojans 28-14 West Central- WC wins in a close one 21-20 Winamac- 35-

Went back and read up some comments about Winamac. I’ve seen that Adriano kid play. Great athlete but isn’t a very good teammate. Things could’ve changed in a year. But from the last time I saw him it wasn’t good. I also heard Winamac had the #1 rated QB in Indiana for the 8th grade class but he moved to Pioneer. Can anyone confirm that? He's definitely grown up some. I know his grades have been better and attitude has been better as well. I'm not really sure if Popejoy was the rated #1 QB in his grade or not. He's a really good football and basketball player though. I feel pretty confident in that before baseball season even started that it wasn't set in stone that X was gonna even be a QB in HS, he can do damage at other positions outside that spot and the Popejoys were told that but when Cash Roth decided to not to play, Winamac didn't really have another choice at QB so X became the guy, I'm not sure if the Popejoys didn't think he could beat out X or not next year or didn't believe what they were told. I'm sure Colton will do well learning from Rans next season and playing another position next year and then be the QB as a sophomore. I think the 7 on 7 spring/summer stuff will help him show case his passing ability. Pioneer has never really been a throwing team and didn't change the offense for Jack so I don't think theyll change the offense for this kid. It really hurts in basketball too. He and another kid were a nice tandem and behind Jaybin Hines...that would have been a nice 3 headed monster there.

Winamac 24, West Central 16 (Friday): Freshman quarterback Xavier Adriano threw for 74 yards and a touchdown and also had a 6-yard touchdown run for the host Warriors as they held on to beat rival West Central Friday. Addison Allen had a team-high 65 yards rushing and 47 yards receiving, including an 8-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. He also had two two-point conversion runs. Ethan Burgess caught a 17-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter that put Winamac ahead for good at 16-8. Winamac won despite committing three turnovers and committing 11 penalties for 105 yards. Talen Garner led the defense with seven tackles and three assists, including one for loss. Tearson Wolford had five tackles, including three for loss. Allen had four tackles and five assists. Louis Rugg III and Hayden Taylor each had an interception. Winamac held West Central to seven yards passing. Winamac 24, West Central 16 West Central 0 8 0 8 – 16 Winamac 0 16 8 0 – 24 First quarter (no scoring) Second quarter WC – Villarreal 75 run (Villarreal run) WIN – Xavier Adriano 6 run (Addison Allen run) WIN – Ethan Burgess 17 pass from Adriano (Allen run) Third quarter WIN – Allen 8 run (Adriano run) Fourth quarter WC – Villarreal 8 run (Villarreal run) It sure looks like he is playing for Winamac. Maybe I have the wrong kid, but Xavier Adriano played for Winamac on Friday night.

FinePrint
Friday, Aug. 30 North Judson at LaVille - Based on what I saw last week from LaVille and North Judson, this will be a running clock in the 4th quarter. Playing in the new INSC is going to be rough for the Lancers this year. If the over/under were 3.5 on LaVille regular season wins, I'm taking the under. Blue Jays 52-7 North White at Caston - Just picking the HNAC team in this one because that's what I'd like to see happen. I don't know anything about either team other than last week's scores. Comets 27-6 Pioneer at Knox - The Redskins will be on the warpath this week. Nothing worse than getting embarrassed by your backyard rival. Pioneer will have a great season, but they'll be outmatched this week. Redskins 34-16 Sheridan at North Miami - I can't imagine the Warriors keeping pace with Sheridan. Many people are expecting a good year from the Sheridan boys. A North Miami win would be a huge upset in my estimation. Blackhawks 35-7 South Central at Boone Grove - Boone Grove gave Glenn all they could handle last week, especially through the air. That tells me they probably have the athletes to handle the Satellites. Look for the Wolves to put up some big throwing numbers. Wolves 42-14 Triton at Bremen - This could be the only really competitive game on the docket this week. I'd like to think the Trojans are the better team here, but I don't have a lot of confidence in a road win over the Lions. Triton seldom plays their best on Bunge Field and I suspect this will be much the same. Lions 21-17 West Central at Culver - I think Culver will slug out a win against the Trojans. West Central will likely get a few more wins on the season than the Cavs, but that's a schedule thing. I'm taking Culver at home. Cavaliers 27-14 Winamac at Frontier - Another HNAC vs Midwest Conference matchup this week. I think the HNAC gets the trifecta with the Winamac win. Warriors 35-
FootballGuy18
Judson won’t have another game close until semi state Caston and big. North white doesn’t have the talent at QB anymore this is a big time win for caston who will shock people. Knox Sheridan Boone Groove WC let one go last week they pounce on Culver who has high spirits after beating Attica… Give me Winamac but Frontier looks good and motivated. New coach has them ready to roll but Winamac to much size for them upfront. Wouldn’t be surprised to see either team win here could be a good one. Outside of a few mins in the 2nd Q when did WC lead? Yes they had 4 drives where they stalled inside the 20 but two of those were aided by an Ill advised pass by Adriano and a fumble after an interception. It was 24-8 at one point, if anything winamacs poor play late let WC back in the game.

Credit to Winamac they looked good to. But to think winamac dominated is insane. It was a great game on both sides one just made more mistakes. Need to clean up the penalties but it’s still early. Thought their defense played great. Pioneer ran into a very good Knox team. I expected a blow out but not that kind of blowout. I expected a better outing from Triton.

I think not acknowledging that most of your red zone visits were caused by the turnovers late and those late turnovers allowed you guys back into the game. Yes Winamac didn't dominant but I can tell you I didn't get nervous until about the final 3 minutes.
