LaVille at North Judson

Rematch of week 2. I don't think that there is going to be anything that slows the Jays down. LaVille plays a tough schedule and I think that will help them. However, playing for the sectional titles at Liberty Field, you can only imagine how that atmosphere is going to be for the home team. Jays 37 LaVille 21

Taylor at Pioneer

I don't know much about Taylor and what they bring to the table. All I have heard about them is that they have a really quick hitter in #12. Pioneer's strength in schedule has prepared them and think that this game will be a running clock. Pioneer 48 Taylor 7

Triton at North Miami

The week #9 matchup came with a lot of drama. It seemed that no matter the circumstances, Triton didn't have their heads in the game. The last 2 weeks I have seen a Triton team focused on getting that revenge and bringing back the first sectional championship in 6 years to Bourbon. With the Warriors, there is no question that they want to beat the Trojans for the second time in 3 weeks. There is no question that this game is North Miami's to lose. With that being said, I feel that Triton is going to get things going and force North Miami to stop them. Trojans 35 North Miami 29

Of course you would. He's from judson and you are a Judson guy.

Started as a frosh (regional champs), last year all state as a sophomore (regional champs). If that doesn't get you in the running for the top player in the HNAC, I don't know what will? Sorry his name has not been repeated on here since his 5th grade year.

Laville at North Judson: The metal/rock music at Liberty Field plus the team in the home locker room are too much for the Lancers. 41-14 Blue Jays

Taylor at Pioneer: Taylor has come on strong in the last few weeks. However, Pioneer is clicking and focused. Running clock sometime in the 4th Q. 49-13 Panthers

Triton at North Miami: Both teams are fired up for a rematch. Both fan bases are fired up for ham salad! Last time, North Miami had their way with the Trojan defense for the first 30 min. Trojan defense had their way with the North Miami offense the last 18. Triton will have had 3 weeks to prepare by 7pm on Friday. This one comes down to situational football (3rd/4th down and redzone conversions mainly). If North Miami can take away Triton's big plays from last time, I think they win. If Triton has been able to put in some wrinkles, they will be tough to tangle with. Always hard to beat a good team twice. Unfortunate that someone has to lose this one. I'll go with the home team. 27-21 Fightin' Ham Salad Sandwiches

I think it's pretty cool that there's a strong possibility of 3 HNAC schools representing the final 4 in 1A north.

LaVille at North Judson - I was surprised LaVille kept this game as close as they did in week 2.  The Lancers didn't look that good to me in their week 1 matchup with Triton.  This time around I expect Judson to be more dominant.  Running clock in the 2nd half.  Blue Jays 49-7

Taylor at Pioneer - This appears to be speed vs. speed.  Knowing Pioneer, I just don't see how Taylor will be able to stop the Panther's machine-like offense.  It could be a shoot-out!  But I think Pioneer wins this one comfortably.  Panthers 42-21

Triton at North Miami - Triton was definitely distracted in the first matchup 3 weeks ago.  I think they're focused again and I expect this game to be a battle from the opening kick.  Both teams are coming in confident and ready to prove that they are the best team in Sectional 43.  I'm taking Triton by 2 scores in the rematch.  Trojans 28-14

Never said he wasn't a top player. I just said I think Rans will be the best player in the conference.

I think Taylor's defense did fine. I think Pioneer had the same issue Winamac did. Taylor has a lot of speed.  I said awhile back the Harris kid is the fastest kid I've seen Winamac play all year.

The long, hard road to Judson

A sexual championship edition

Written, edited, and dictated by Spanky Harper.

Deep is muh love.  I have had a hard time kickin the wyld turkey cuz muh love runs deep.  I had a thing for this woman named ella sue n boy did muh love run deep.  I grew up lovin blueJay football.  It was all i knew at times.  All i had.  And muh love runs deep.

Winning never gets old.   I get old.  Root allen looks old as hell these days.  But winning never seems to age a day.  Its forever youthful.  The faces change.  The jersey numbers change.  A lot of things change in this life.  But somethings never change.  Death, taxes, and Bluejay Football.

Spankin By the Numbers

17 & 1-  Coach Lambert’s record in the sectionals since taking over as head coach for the Bluejays in 2019.

4-  Sectional 41 Titles in row for the Bluejays.  Back2back2back2shermanback

5- The number of Sectional Titles for the Bluejays since 2019.

17- Sectional Titles for the Bluejays all-time.

2 cents with Spanky harper-keep the change.

North Judson set records tonite.  Most points in a season.  Most rushing yards.  Most total yards.  We’re not done yet.

Pioneer- you broke muh heart.  I had a hankering for gas station chicken.  See ya at home next year.  I expect it will be for a conference championship.

Triton-  tuff season.  Weird season.  Like really weird.  They were a tough team.  59 was a dude.  I look forward to not having to travel to Bourbon for a regular season game next year.

North Miami- congratulations.  Whats on the menu this week?  Chicken salad?  Pizza?  stank burgers?

This week the jays will travel to somewhere in Howard county.  If muh PO clears we are pregaming at Big Daddy’s north end of the mo.  they have a killer buffet and all the busch lite you can handel.  See yins in hoco.

Extremely surprised by the pioneer score.

Figured Taylor would score some points on them but expected the Panthers to be able to move the ball however they wanted.

Taylor is a very solid team and came out with a good gameplan. They have very good team speed that was too much for Pioneer. Pioneer held them to 80 yards and zero points in the first half and forced a couple of turnovers. Panthers got inside the Taylor 20 3-4 times and only came out with 6 points. Kudos to Taylor and #12, he was a stud on offense and defense.

North Miami at South Adams, 7 pm

Who you got this week?  The Taylor and South Adams wins were a bit of a shock to me, but we still could have an all-HNAC semi-state!

Really cool to see Coach Grant and the Warriors having a lot of success this year. South Adams is not what the Warriors wanted to see Friday night. From what I've seen they like to sling it around the yard, something the Warriors have struggled with stopping all year. I'm not sure either team will be able to stop the other. High scoring game in this one with the winner being whoever has the ball at the end of the game.

North Judson by however much they want.

Give me the Jays!

If the Jays win, it's either South Adams at Liberty field or a HNAC semi state with ham salad sandwiches flying everywhere. Tell me that's not a win-win ?

North Judson at Taylor- Taylor has had one heck of a turn around for their program. They have great athletes at QB and RB and at other skills positions as well. They aren't great up front but they use their screen game well to slow down the defensive pressure. I think they get a score or two before the jays make their adjustments but not much more than that. Jays win 52-14

North Miami at South Adams- I think South Adams is very similar to Taylor in regards to their main strength is at the skill positions. I caught the second half of their game against MG and came out really impressed with the QB for SA. One of the better throwers I've seen at the 1A level in a while! Hoping North Miami wins but I think SA wins this shootout. SA 42-35

North Judson at Taylor - Limiting Pioneer to 6pts is certainly not nothing. Titan defense must be solid. However, too much Jays as the game wears on. 44-14 Blue Jays

North Miami at South Adams - I don't know why the little ol' Warriors should even bother showing up. Ink the Starfires into next week. Beating sectional champion Sheridan was a fluke. Beating Triton in week 9 was a fluke. Beating the Trojans with 390 rushing yards three weeks later was a bigger fluke. NM hasn't had to make a long bus trip this year. This group hasn't gotten any experience on turf in the TRC the last couple years. Heck, they only have 4 backs at or over 900 yards on the ground. ... Jokes aside, if the Fighin' 'Wiches can hold onto the ball and then tackle in space on the other side of the ball, they have to like their chances. They seem to be improving every week, and they seem to like their spot under the radar. I do think a bit of a shootout is gonna take place in Berne on Friday night. Give me the all HNAC semi-state and bring your ham salad appetites! 41-35 Warriors

Fastest kid I've see this year. Taylor folks say he's the type of kid that's good at anything he does, hopefully for Taylor this season can be used as a springboard to get more kids excited for ball.

Can we take a minute and have an honest discussion about North Miami? As Midwestern as it is, I hope they have that ham salad sammich fundraiser next year because dem boys gonna be eating next year with all the experience they will be bringing back.

Conference will be pretty solid 1-6 next year. Gonna be a fun year.

North Judson at Taylor - Quite a run through the sectional for Taylor!  They knocked off 2 HNAC teams on the way to the title.  But this is where their HNAC dominance ends!  Judson is just on another level and speed alone won't be enough to win this game.  I have NJSP winning soundly.  Blue Jays 42-7

North Miami at South Adams - The Starfires have been running under the radar in this part of the state!  They seem to be scoring a ton of points!  But NM is also capable of putting up impressive numbers!  This seems to be ground and pound vs. air it out!  If this were an NFL game, I'd definitely pick the team throwing it around.  But when it's high school kids playing the game, I tend to lean toward the tried and true running game!  I'm taking North Miami simply because they run an offense that is less prone to error.  Warriors 36-28

I think you should have picked against the team that gave up quite a few passing tds to Culver and South Central.

There and Back Again; A Judson Tale.

Regional Championship Edition

Written, edited, dictated by Spanky Harper

was born runnin.  Runnin wild. Runnin that denham blacktop.  We were richgrove boys back then.  Me n sherm n scutch.  We ran all day. We ran all nite. Runnin from the law.  Runnin from child support payments.  Runnin from muh past.  The truth is u cant run forever.  I learned that the hard way serving six months with root allen.

Ya know who was running tonite?  Wilcox, McDaniel, and Benson. Them boys was runnin tonite.  Runnin like they stoled it. Runnin like pappy was comin at them with the belt.  Runnin for a regional title.  Runnin for their football lives.  They was runnin.

Spankin by the numbers

3- 1,000 yard rushers for the Bluejays this season.  McDaniel, Benson, and Wilcox.

4-Regional Championships in a row for the Bluejays.  A school record.

7- Touchdowns in one game for a Wilcox.  A School Record.

9- count them 9, Regional Championships all-time for the Bluejay Football team.

Two Cents with Spanky Harper---keep the change

North Judson- One team.  One dream.  One goal.  Win and survive.  4 Regionals in a row.  No small feat for any school.

South Adams- Welcome to muh town.  I have been a gracious host before to those from adams county.  Here is what you need to know for friday. They did open a Burger place in Mark Bailey’s Discount Center and they have a Bigby coffee. We have some fast food that is pretty basic.  The irish pub has killer apps.  The ice cream place in town will be an option but it will be bizzeee.  Parking lot at the school is huge.  Food options at Liberty field vary, but we do have food trucks come in and coffee.  I would dress warm.  We look forward to welcoming the starfires to beautiful Liberty Field.  You will want to avoid root allen.  If you see him just stir clear.

Taylor- great season.  Beating pioneer is no small feat.  something to build upon for the future.  Hit the weights and the buffet line.

North Miami-  what year for the North miami warriors.  New to the HNAC.  made it all the way to the regional.  They will bust you up with that option attack. hit the weights and buffet table.

Xoxo,

Spanky

I was saying if the Warriors held onto the ball (4 turnovers) and tackled well in space (they did not), they had to like their chances. 10 penalties and 4 turnovers don’t win a regional. Didn’t play well. Such is life!

I think that was a mismatch to begin with. North Miami couldn't really stop the pass all year and that's what South Adams does and does well.
