Donnie Baker Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 We’ll just run this until the last team is out. Let’s be honest, there’s no serious WRC threat in any of the 3 sectionals, I swear to God there’s not. The games. 2A 34 Seegers at Lewis Cass 2A 39 North Poseys at The Visors 1A 45 Little Rubbers at Attica Fountain Centrals at South Putnams The Woofs at Riverton Parkes North Vermilions at North Centrals Quote
KAllen Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Seeger @ Lewis Cass - This sectional is loaded. Maybe the best 2A sectional in the state with legit contenders up and down the bracket. I don’t see Seeger winning this game. North Posey @ SV - I wish it would rain Friday so we all can get an opportunity to watch this game Saturday. (5% chance, so we may see a delayed game). NP’s two losses came at the hands of ranked Heritage Hills and Southridge. SV hasn’t won an opening round sectional game since 2019. The history-making season against 1A teams ends this weekend. Regardless who wins, they get Linton in round 2 for another banger of a game. Trojans @ Attica - even without Moore (ejected from the RP game Friday), Covington wins big and get South Put in week 2. PH @ RP - This game was 49-7 at half two weeks ago I don’t believe it will be this bad Friday RP wins and PH starts basketball with a legit chance to win a state title in hoops FC at SP - Chuck Sorrels boys take this one running away. Herb is 14-17 in three years at FC and looks to change their fortune in 2025. NV @ NC - Two coaches entering sectionals in year 1 of their teams. Coach Rod and his team win handily vs Coach Wheeler, ending their season. I believe Coach Wheeler will have his crew playing well next year with better healthy and fewer injuries. A week two rematch between NV and RP is on the horizon, with their first game ending in overtime. Quote
WRC guru Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 NP @ SV- I truly think this one will be closer than most think. If SV isn’t physical from the start it’s going to be a hard one for them to get! Seeger vs Lewis Cass- give me Cass by 3 scores! RP vs PH- RP by as many as they want. FC vs SP- going to be tough for anyone to compete with SP. Cov vs Attica- could be closer than most think. If Moore is actually out, he’s been the Rambler killer for the last 2 years. 8+ TD’s against them…if they are without him, I could see Attica hanging around! NV vs NC - NV won opening game against 49-0. I do think NC had progressed this season but give me NV but a couple scores. Quote
WRC123 Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 NP @ SV - Time to see what SV is made of. Who knows, maybe beating up on the 1A schools will be beneficial for them.... I'm taking the undefeated WRC champs to pull off the upset at home. SV wins 35 - 30 Seeger @ Lewis Cass - Don't know anything about Lewis Cass so I'll take Seeger winning by a score Covington @ Attica - What happened with the Moore kid? Ejected for what? Either way Covington wins this one with a running clock. PH @ RP - Different week, same outcome. Panthers are rolling and I can't wait for a RP NV rematch next week. I'll take RP by a running clock and starter out at halftime. FC @ SP - The Mustangs got the only team in the sectional they can't compete with. Not sure any team in the sectional can compete with South Put... Herbie might be able to scheme it to keep them close for about a quarter but that's it. South Put wins it 48 - 12 NV @ NC - I think this one will be closer than the first game of the year. NV hasn't been playing super well and North Central has their qb back. I still think NV wins but it'll be a bit closer. NV wins 42 - 20 Quote

WildCat Nation Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 I am new to posting on this page, but have watched it all year. I am so sick of people bashing my Wildcats. I believe coach Barrett and Coach Blank have put together a team that will not only win the sectional we are in, but could possibly go very deep in the tournament. Coach Blank has made all the difference this year with the line, and rumor has it that he will be also teaching here next year! These boys have dominated the WRC Conference the last two years, and now its their time to shine! I am sure Donnie Baker and a few of his friends will quote and make fun of me, but I DONT CARE! 2 1 Quote
GroundSquirrel Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 What a week for the WRC to show what they are made of. Things can get Nutty come sectional time. No power rankings this week as I will wait til the end of the season to post that. Let's get into the picks. 1A NV @ NC- Not a clear black and white game here. I have not been impressed with NV the past couple weeks but NC isn't very good and I think NV wins handily. NV 48 NC 12 PH @ RP- If RP handles business week 2 of the sectional could get pretty darn NUTTY. I like RP to win by mercy RP42 PH6 COV @ Attica- Moore getting ejected just proves why Botner from NV is better. Botner would never get ejected and I know moore has put up stats but give me botner all day. Covington wins by mercy 2A Seeger @ Lewis Cass- Tough season for the pats. Cass is a good team but I don't know much about them. Give me Cass by Mercy North Posey @ SV- I think this is the game everyone is curious about in the WRC. Is SV for real? I think SV gets a little too much hate on this page and I get it, but they did handle everybody in the conference handily. NP is not the team they were last year, but they still have talent. Also, SV is at home, and it will also be a 2-hour drive for the Vikings. SV has certainly gotten better up front week after week thanks to Blank. Coleman and Weir are always going to be threats and Shryock is tank. Garzo 2.0 is the best true QB i think the conference has seen. However, NP is really really good and I think they win by 1 score. NP 45 SV 38 2 Quote

Boobie Miles Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 NP vs SV- The visors will ride on the coats tails of finishing the season 9-1.. I don't think they will be able to stop North Posey's running back who has had four 1000 yards seasons in his high school career.. I'll take the Posey's on the road 35-14 Seeger @ Lewis Cass- I think it is time for Seeger to head to basketball.. They showed some signs last week against a good NV team. I think they could make this a game, just don't know if they can hang on till the end. Cass 32-18 Rubbers @ Attica- Even with Moore being out I think the Trojans will advance to play the Eagles.. after that its game over for them. i will tip my hat to the boys at Attica. Not sure many teams would be able to do what they do... Rubbers running clock it. Woofs @ RP- This game was out of hand two weeks ago, I don't think anything changes. It's time for the Woofs to make a run at basketball. RP by as many as they want. FC @ SP- I think after this season Herb may ride his golden pony off into the sunset... Sorrell's by however many they want NV @ NC- NV is playing decent ball right now but so is NC, I heard this could be a different game with NC's QB being back. I think this could be a game until late and NV will pull away. 35-12 Quote

Bear54 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Sectional Week 1... Most of the WRC teams won't survive this week. Seeger @ Lewis Cass - The Patriots have played harder the second half of the season. I look for them to make this a game. I don't know much about the Kings this year, but I do know they've played a decent schedule. I'll take the home team. Cass 28 Seeger 20 North Posey @ South Vermillion* - I saw a chance for morning rain Friday, hopefully the Visors can get the air dryers on the field before game time. The Vikings have a long trip, we'll see how they handle it. (As @Donnie Baker says, the IHSAA sucks at geology, lol.) If they're as good as they say they are, SV should have no problem. But I think NP will roll, too many athletes. Which is a shame because I can't imagine what a Linton-South Vermillion 2nd round game would look like. (Actually, I could.) NP 42 SV 28 Covington @ Attica - Hopefully the Trojans can find some one else to carry the ball. Lots of adjustments on offense this week at the Complex with the absence of RB1. The Ramblers will do what they do. Which is show up and play hard. The new turf looks good! Winner gets South Putnam. Cov 28 Attica 6 Fountain Central @ South Putnam - Unfortunately, the Mustangs don't have the horses to run against the Eagles. Herb will have them coached up, but what's that old saying about Jimmies and Joes? South Putnam has too many Jimmies and Joes. SP 42 FC 8 Parke Heritage @ Riverton Parke - The Woolfs were completely man-handled two weeks ago. I think they put up a little bit of a fight this week, but it is not going to be enough. The Panthers survived the Trojan onslaught last week, but their patient, grinding style eventually won out. It's tough to stop a steamroller. Woolfs will be getting ready for basketball next week. RP gets ready for a possible rematch at the Gibson. RP 42 PH 14 North Vermillion @ North Central (Farmersburg)- The Falcons seem to be barely hanging on, but they are still winning. The Thunderbirds have built a little momentum with the return of their QB. This will be a different game. NV should win, but I hope they don't look ahead to their possible rematch with RP in round 2, because T-birds could nip them in this battle of the birds. NV 35 NC 22 1 Quote
DoctorShrimpPuertoRico5 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 2A 34 Seegers at Lewis Cass- Don’t know much here but basketball season is soon approaching . Lewis Cass 34-18 2A 39 North Poseys at The Visors-probably the game everyone’s been excited for. Does SV finally beat the allegations of not winning their first round game? No. Simple as that. Give me Posey 42-21 1A 45 Little Rubbers at Attica- Cayanne pepper not playing won’t make a difference. Mercy rule will be in play. Fountain Centrals at South Putnams- south Putnam might be the best team in the 1A south. FC has been good at times but I don’t think their time is Friday. South Putnams 48-20 The Woofs at Riverton Parkes shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Riverton by however much they want. North Vermilions at North Centrals long trip for the falcons but they will get Riverton again at their place next week. NC 42- NC12 Quote

SVs has always had a pretty good line. This years doesn’t stick out like years before to me. Barrett has done a great Job with the program. I’ve never heard a Line Coach getting so much attention and that’s crazy. Second off SV will not make it out of sectionals. I get you’re a wildcat lover but realistically. Linton will roll Quote
