He is very patient and great at waiting for his OL to clear a path.

Does CP have a kicking issue? I was surprised they didn't go for the FG to go up 41-13 when they threw the ball on the last 4th down before the 2nd string D came in.

Had they kicked that field goal , my prediction from the second post would of been almost perfect . I predicted 42-21

Larry Ellison: 30 car, 220 yds, 5 rec, 40 yds, 3 total TD

Just from watching all season Coach Buzz is pretty respectful when it comes to running up the score... I think he would have rather had the first down to run out the clock than the 3pts. Brewer made from 40+ earlier in the year, so that would have been a chip shot.

I would probably take Westfield given homefield advantage and it's not going to be easy to knock them out 2 years in a row. It may benefit Crown Point to play on Saturday in attempt to get as many 'Dog fans down 65 as possible. Westfield has a very large homeside.

Riverview Stadium has a capacity of 5,000. Probably 3,500-4,000 are on the home side. Even with the weather forecast, I'll predict that the home side will be packed.

I agree , that game like all of CP's games could of been much worse .

Agreed. Out of all the high school 6A football players I’ve watched this year, Trevor Gibbs truly stands out. He is something else—dominating on both sides of the ball like it’s no big deal - at times, it is like he could do it in his sleep. It’s no surprise colleges are all over him; he’s a rare talent. Add his baseball talent into the mix, and the guy’s an all-around powerhouse.

Kid is indeed special and showed it again on Friday. Excited to watch what he can do this Friday at Westfield. Going to be a fun game to watch!

Watching games on TV just doesn’t compare, but I finally caught some of the game yesterday. As expected, Gibbs showed up and did his thing. What really stood out to me was the lack of any real attempts at big plays with Szymborski, Gibbs, and Soley—three big, fast dudes who usually make a splash for CP. Szymborski had one standout moment, but it was surprising that CP didn’t take more shots downfield with those 3.

As for Carroll, Sullivan and VanPelt absolutely lived up to the hype. Sullivan’s precision was sharp, and VanPelt’s speed was something else. Together, they made an impressive duo, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what VanPelt brings next season. I’m still debating which game to catch on Friday, but Shamrocks vs. CP Dawgs is shaping up to be a great battle. Both teams are stacked with talent and always leave it all out on the field. Can’t wait to see how the season unfolds!

Crown Point's football team has a strong following, with fans often traveling to support the Bulldogs. During the recent Sectional Championship game against Penn, it was noted that Crown Point fans appeared to outnumber the home crowd, though this observation isn't confirmed. Fans rented chartered buses for the 1.5-hour drive to the game, and I heard that many students were called out early, highlighting the dedication. What was your assessment  @GOLDRUSH1985  I have no doubt that this enthusiastic support continues for the game this Friday.

Awesome if thats true. I was shocked to see that Carroll did not bring chartered fan buses? Back in my day the schools put up the money for the trips on school buses..oh how times have changed

I hit submit too early. This game will undoubtedly be Crown Point’s toughest challenge of the season to date. Westfield is a great, well-rounded, and disciplined team. Both sides will need to bring their absolute best, as it’s shaping up to be a matchup where preparation and execution will make all the difference.

I was not at the Crown Point v Carroll game to see, however, I heard that Carroll’s fan base showed up in stronger numbers than expected. Maybe that is because the Lowell and Arizona College Prep games resulted in higher fan turnout than fan support from Lake Central, Portage, and Chesterton - which is surprising, especially since they’re so close to Crown Point. This is not the case in games throughout Indiana, it is so strange.

I would say there were slightly more Penn fans than Crown point fans. If the visitor side is full and the home side is 1/2 full, then its about even . Crown point did travel very well . A side note , Freed field is one of the few stadiums I've been to where the bleachers on both sides go from end zone to end zone .

Thanks for the feedback.hard to tell especially when fans were leaving so early unfortunately.

I’m guessing from past fan base of their opponents, which wasn’t much. That is what I was used to as well..full stands both sides. Student sections overflowing, concession lines - I am baffled as to to lack of Friday night lights

I thought that Crown Point didn’t allow video stream for the majority of their games though. Can you give insight into whether you think this is Indiana wide, the Northern Indiana, etc. again, the student sections in the North 5A and Crown Point seem strong, some Michiana student section seem strong, and Indy student section seems to fluctuate…but I go to select games so it’s not fair to say based on my assessment.

How many kids from CP and Westfield are D1 potential?

I will have to get some help from someone in the know with Crown Point to be sure I have all of theirs. I didn't see anything for Larry Ellison CP's RB, but he is a very good RB. So far here is what I could gather:

Westfield:

1. Jr Safety Deacon King - Offers: Purdue, Miami (OH), Toledo, Central Michigan, Buffalo, Akron, West Virginia

2. Sr QB Carsen Melvin - Hard Commit: Bowling Green

3. Sr LB/RB Mikeah Webster - Hard Commit: Ball State

4. Sr WR Gabe Aramboles - Hard Commit: Ball State

5. Sr OL Avery Huggins - Offers: Ball State

6. Sr LB Lennex Williams - Offers: Eastern Michigan

7. Jr CB Cato June Jr - Offers: Miami (FL), Marshall (note: son of former Colts LB Cato June)

8. JR OL Malachi Mills - Offers: Miami (OH), Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Colorado St., Kansas

Crown Point:

1. Sr QB Noah Ehrlich - Hard Commit: Miami (OH)

2. Sr LB Lucas Szymborski - Hard Commit: Ball St.

3. Sr TE Jacob Soley - Hard Commit: Indiana St.

4. Jr LB/TE Trevor Gibbs - Offers: Ball St., Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Miami (OH)

5. Jr OL Nolan Cicero - Offers: Miami (OH), Toledo

That's it? I would have guessed about 5,000 on the homeside and I drive by it nearly 10 times per week on 31. Will Westfield bring in portable bleachers? Crown Point will likly have an overflow crowd based on the size of Westfield's visitor section. I could imagine Westfield may as well.

Seems about accurate. I think Szymborski and Soley go both ways as TE/LB along with Gibbs. I'm not sure what to make of Ellison. Great RB running behind a Great OL. Great vision and patience. Maybe he doesn't have enough speed or size for D1?

That is usually the case unfortunately when it comes to RB's under a certain size for D-1 they have to be an amazing WOW RB to garner D-1 attention. No shame in some D-2, D-3, or NAIA looking at him though IMO.

He is a solid RB but I have also seen some really good RB's from Indiana not get much traction (Spegal comes to mind he is back at Ball State now).

That is what is listed as total capacity. Seats run end zone to end zone on the home side, and between the 20's on the visitor side.

Pretty decent list. I tried finding Ellison as well, no luck. Is he a junior or senior?

The first player listed, Deacon King, also is their #1 running back with 1208 rushing yards. He was the top rusher in the HCC and #2 in class 6A. He rushed for 220 yards and a TD, also caught a TD pass, in last Friday's win at Fishers. It was the second time he ran for over 200 yards against Fishers this season.
