Does CP have a kicking issue? I was surprised they didn't go for the FG to go up 41-13 when they threw the ball on the last 4th down before the 2nd string D came in. Had they kicked that field goal , my prediction from the second post would of been almost perfect . I predicted 42-21 Edited November 17, 2024 by GOLDRUSH1985 Quote

Larry Ellison: 30 car, 220 yds, 5 rec, 40 yds, 3 total TD Just from watching all season Coach Buzz is pretty respectful when it comes to running up the score... I think he would have rather had the first down to run out the clock than the 3pts. Brewer made from 40+ earlier in the year, so that would have been a chip shot. Quote

It may benefit Crown Point to play on Saturday in attempt to get as many 'Dog fans down 65 as possible. Westfield has a very large homeside. Riverview Stadium has a capacity of 5,000. Probably 3,500-4,000 are on the home side. Even with the weather forecast, I'll predict that the home side will be packed. Quote

Out of all the high school 6A football players I’ve watched this year, Trevor Gibbs truly stands out. He is something else—dominating on both sides of the ball like it’s no big deal - at times, it is like he could do it in his sleep. It’s no surprise colleges are all over him; he’s a rare talent. Add his baseball talent into the mix, and the guy’s an all-around powerhouse. Kid is indeed special and showed it again on Friday. Excited to watch what he can do this Friday at Westfield. Going to be a fun game to watch! Quote

As expected, Gibbs showed up and did his thing. What really stood out to me was the lack of any real attempts at big plays with Szymborski, Gibbs, and Soley—three big, fast dudes who usually make a splash for CP. Szymborski had one standout moment, but it was surprising that CP didn’t take more shots downfield with those 3. As for Carroll, Sullivan and VanPelt absolutely lived up to the hype. Sullivan’s precision was sharp, and VanPelt’s speed was something else. Together, they made an impressive duo, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what VanPelt brings next season. I’m still debating which game to catch on Friday, but Shamrocks vs. CP Dawgs is shaping up to be a great battle. Both teams are stacked with talent and always leave it all out on the field. Can’t wait to see how the season unfolds! Edited November 18, 2024 by Jetackow Quote

During the recent Sectional Championship game against Penn, it was noted that Crown Point fans appeared to outnumber the home crowd, though this observation isn't confirmed. Fans rented chartered buses for the 1.5-hour drive to the game, and I heard that many students were called out early, highlighting the dedication. What was your assessment @GOLDRUSH1985 I have no doubt that this enthusiastic support continues for the game this Friday. Quote

Awesome if thats true. I was shocked to see that Carroll did not bring chartered fan buses? Back in my day the schools put up the money for the trips on school buses..oh how times have changed Quote

This game will undoubtedly be Crown Point’s toughest challenge of the season to date. Westfield is a great, well-rounded, and disciplined team. Both sides will need to bring their absolute best, as it’s shaping up to be a matchup where preparation and execution will make all the difference. 1 Quote

Maybe that is because the Lowell and Arizona College Prep games resulted in higher fan turnout than fan support from Lake Central, Portage, and Chesterton - which is surprising, especially since they’re so close to Crown Point. This is not the case in games throughout Indiana, it is so strange. Quote

If the visitor side is full and the home side is 1/2 full, then its about even . Crown point did travel very well . A side note , Freed field is one of the few stadiums I've been to where the bleachers on both sides go from end zone to end zone . 1 Quote

Can you give insight into whether you think this is Indiana wide, the Northern Indiana, etc. again, the student sections in the North 5A and Crown Point seem strong, some Michiana student section seem strong, and Indy student section seems to fluctuate…but I go to select games so it’s not fair to say based on my assessment. That is usually the case unfortunately when it comes to RB's under a certain size for D-1 they have to be an amazing WOW RB to garner D-1 attention. No shame in some D-2, D-3, or NAIA looking at him though IMO. He is a solid RB but I have also seen some really good RB's from Indiana not get much traction (Spegal comes to mind he is back at Ball State now). Quote

The first player listed, Deacon King, also is their #1 running back with 1208 rushing yards. He was the top rusher in the HCC and #2 in class 6A. He rushed for 220 yards and a TD, also caught a TD pass, in last Friday's win at Fishers. It was the second time he ran for over 200 yards against Fishers this season. Quote
