Offended? Hell, I'm still laughing. I'm willing to bet PHIrish got a little giggle out of it as well.................but I only bat .400 on my bets these days.

I haven't been offended too much since I divorced my first wife back in 1967.  And I giggle quite frequently, it helps me stay sane.

Play the man in shoots -n- ladders. Sounds to me like he's willing to pay win or lose, even though there's a slight caveat to him losing. I'll double my donation this year if you die your hair pink. Take one for the team.

I provided the link to the donation page. Beyond that, it's not up to me to determine a member's decision to donate or not.

Until your member info turns purple, 2x$0 still = $0

Here's a link to an alternative forum the former GID member you all remember so fondly runs. Try joining there, it's free.

Don't need your reminder. You have a way of making posters not want to donate. I get it, you're trying to do the right thing, but there's something off about your approach. When someone donates, they don't want to think it's because gonzoron pressured them to do so. So again, change your approach before you start having a negative impact on the financial health of the Gridiron Digest.

Enjoy your Sunday, God Bless.

I posted a link. I've done it for years. 3 people got their panties in a wad.

That's ludicrous.

You have already shown your disregard for the financial health of the Gridiron Digest, I won't be changing anything.

Why would anyone refuse to donate because they were asked to do so by a certain person, or asked in a certain way? The only real question is “Are you willing to help financially support the mission of the GID, or not?”

When the Girl Scouts, Ron in this case, come to my door and try to sell me cookies, their sales pitch determines how many boxes I’ll buy.  Deep down I know it’s for a good cause and that my donation (or lack thereof) will not make or break their finances.

The GID has a leadership problem.  There are some good dudes that moderate, but the pathetic mud slinging, name calling, and gang mentality, combined with the elitism rubs me the wrong way.  Too many wannabe chiefs and not enough Indians.  And the wannabes get a longer leash than the Indians.

Now, I could just pack up and leave (which I’m sure will be many’s suggestion upon reading this post) but I enjoy the friendly banter and talking football with the majority of the posters on here.

My style may come across as abrasive or rub people the wrong way but I’m not particularly worried about people’s feelings, particularly when discussing a non-life or death subject like football.

The GID is not a product, and “Ron” is not selling it. Good thing more don’t feel the way you do, or there’d be no GID.

I think that's the issue that the guy with the Facebook site didn't quite grasp.

The GID is a pinprick of that.

We talking Cody or DT?

both are legends

Like Cody or hate him, he's kind of made a household name for himself with regard to Indiana high school football.

I had an appreciation for DT's content. He brought some good topics to the table. Maybe your New Years Resolution could be to pick up where DT left off? There you go Rodney, we're counting on you to create one new topic per week, starting today.

contraction threads really aren't my thing.

hard to get excited for something I don't believe in, I just liked how he made everyone upset all the time.

DT and Cody aren’t in the same stratosphere…the only similarity between them is that they post controversial takes on issues.

Whether they even believe their own words or not is irrelevant.  They get eyeballs.

The major difference is that Cody has blinders and loyalty to a program.  DT really doesn’t.

Folks can’t ignore their bait which is their goal…so in essence it really is a product that is being consumed.

That's where you come in. You know, like the 1A threads you used to create. Think of something different though. I'm okay with 1A.

That's what I'm saying about Cody. He was perceived as a clown when he first came onto the scene, and quite frankly, still is. But everyone now knows who he is and follow his content. Kudos to him.

How do you get clowning out of a factual statement?  He always looked at GID as a monetized business, but that's not really its business model.  Anyone who was around back when Tim Adams was running it realized that very quickly.  It's still being run by volunteers in the same vein.  It's a different business model.

Lol, might depend on the value of your donation. Just don't curse. They don't like it when Rodney says bad words.
