Both wins were D1. Ball State is FBS and SIU is FCS. No Purdue fan, but played Michigan tough and blew the game against Minnesota. I do believe they were better than last season, but have a ways to go.

IU’s win last night at Ross Ade was the their largest margin of victory on the road in this long series history.

It wasn't too difficult for the Boilers to be better than they were last year.  The record doesn't show it but they were much more organized this season.  It's going to take some time to get back on track after the last couple of years.

Random thoughts a couple of days before the title game:

1. IU has the 31st ranked recruiting class in the country as of today, which is 9th in the Big 10. While this is better than they have been, I still believe they need to get into the top 20 for long term stability

2. The line on the game this weekend started at Buckeyes favored by 5.5 points, then dropped 4.5 on Tuesday and just dropped to 4 points today. Heavy money going on the Hoosiers apparently. If I had no dog in the fight and I was a gambler, I would lay big money on the Buckeyes at that number.

3. If IU can get to 21 points, I like their chances. I can see IU winning 21-17 type of game. Both defenses are great

It seems we'll be playing under "no targeting" rules tonight.

If you’re talking about Curry’s hit on Mendoza, it was clean.

I respectfully disagree!

Really? Shoulder in the middle of his chest. Took less than one step. Best R in the conference standing right there.

You mean the best one from Ohio?

Oh for God’s sake.

Asking again…was that truly a lateral on OSU’s interception?  The defensive back clearly made contact with the receiver before the ball arrived.

What Joel Klatt said though was the throw was behind the line of scrimmage, but did not say it was a backward pass, so the early contact is allowed. I am not sure of that rule, but the eye test to me says he is wrong on that one.

The pass was forward, but the contact occurred behind the neutral zone. You can only have PI beyond the neutral zone.

Looked right at LOS. I understand the rule. I would have liked them to show that a few times with location of the receiver when he was hit and knocked backwards. If receiver on LOS at snap and knocked backwards, of course the ball doesn’t arrive at the LOS
