I know. 400 people at a high school football game would be a travesty, especially at neutral site. Has disaster written all over it.

It's right off 70, very accessible. Both schools would be losing money after costs to rent Warren Central's field with that kind of attendance.

Thanks, I'm not too familiar with the East and South Sides.

Any neutral sight game is going to be a road game for both teams.  You've already sighted the lack of road attendance for MIC schools in a highly competitive conference.  Driving 90 minutes to see Kokomo and TH North, regardless of day and time,  would be a net loss of revenue.  It MUST always be home/away scheduling.  The home team needs the revenue as football is the only revenue producing sport/activity at the football stadium......... and that is only 4-5 times a year (plus any tournament games).

Kokomo fans don't tend to travel far from their home tavern.  Just saying........................

If I lived in Kokomo within stumbling distance of the Hugger I probably wouldn’t ever leave town.

No.

I like the 12 team, 2 division, week 9 crossover format if an 8 team conference is not possible.  9 or 11 teams isn’t easy to work with.  8 is best, 12 is good, 6 or 10 are ok.  Less than 6 isn’t worth having a conference.  I posted my hypothetical new HCC in one of DT’s other topics.  So let’s adapt that here.

Mid-State East:

Bloomington North, Bloomington South, Franklin, Greenwood, Perry Meridian, Whiteland

Mid-State West:

Decatur Central, Martinsville, Mooresville, Plainfield, TH North, TH South

HCC North:

Carmel, Fishers, HSE, Noblesville, Westfield, Zionsville

HCC South:

Avon, Brownsburg, Center Grove, Columbus North, Franklin Central, Southport

MIC:

Ben Davis, Lawrence Central, Lawrence North, North Central, Pike, Warren Central

NCC:

Harrison, Kokomo, Lafayette Jeff, Logansport, McCutcheon, West Lafayette

*New* East Central Conference:
Anderson, Delta, Jay County, Marion, Mississinewa, Muncie Central, Richmond, Yorktown

The conference will subsidize neutral site games out of CI league coffers.

These neutral site games are designed more to promote the schools and the conference at large than to replace game site revenue.

We are working on a business plan to generate fresh revenues for the conference.  With great cities like Terre Haute, Bloomington, Columbus, Lafayette, Kokomo and Indy, how could we go wrong?

Only the coffers of the self proclaimed commissioner should be used for this.

What is everyone’s thought on how Kentucky does it for basketball?  They break into 16 regions, all single class.  Football should never be single class, but breaking into regions and no conferences, I could get behind that.

Obviously though I love the MIC and don’t want to see it go away.

You’re just a baby yet coach.  Stay away from those places.  They’ll stunt your growth.

Hoosier Hills has had the same conference champion every year, and Columbus east would like a conference that could at least give them a challenge every few years.

Not that CE is unhappy, and I think the CI teams welcome good competition. And I think Columbus North blocked  CE out of CI.

Columbus North tried to get Columbus East in Conference Indiana. However, the travel to Terre Haute was a deal breaker. East tried to become the 8th member of the Mid State Conference but Perry Meridian was accepted instead. Hence, East is still in the HHC.

East will not be invited.  Commissioner DT makes the call on all invites.

The CN-CE rivalry ends with this conf realignment.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rivalry will never end. Biggest gate of the season is the rivalry game and the city would riot if it ended. Plus, the high point of any Columbus North season is when they beat East. Why would you take that away from them?

East has not looked out for North's interest over the years.  It's payback time.

Please explain. They look down on East and have mocked East for being in the "lowly" HHC.

They said the same about Nebraska-Oklahoma, Texas-A&M, Pitt - West Virginia, Penn - Mishawaka.

I don't recall North ever wanting to be in the HHC. They prefer playing the bigger name central Indiana schools, not the southeastern Indiana schools.

Don't compare the East/North rivalry to those others. It's not even the same. There are two football schools in Bartholomew County so there's no possible way to duck each other. Plus, they're both in the same school district and have a working relationship with each other. Nobody in the community would support an end to the rivalry because it's a huge deal when one school beats the other in a sport, especially in football. The football game is one of the biggest events in the county every year. So, in conclusion, it'll never happen. Outsiders like you have no idea.

Why hasn’t BCSC put both East and North into the same conference?

Both North and East should be Mid-State schools.

The objective here was to preserve natural existing rivalry games.

Not their decision. They leave it up to the schools and put their own focus on education.
