Enjoyed Poles and Johnson's first media session today in Indy

Best part:  both basically said the same thing:   " the Supply has to meet our demand standards"

Context:  I am not spending for guys in a position need just to spend money:  More context:  Offensive Line, which I believe is what Poles was referring to with the hand wringing by some that he didn't draft OL last year, Punter/Booker DE instead folks still mad, even though I have shown that in year 1, only 1 guy was actually a started, no idea how he graded out but yeah.....

WHAT IS NOT FUN:   Combine same weekend as Girls Hoops State Championship.....was hoping to score some St. Elmo's......no chance

From most of the chatter I've listened to so far

My with my Bears news is Brad Biggs.

I don't know if he said it or not but just a vibe I'm getting.....

bears trading out of 10

Down

I saw a potential trade scenario between bears and bengals.  Sending Hendrickson to bears w the 17th (I think). Bears send them their 10th and another draft pick or two.  Didn’t seem crazy.

I think they can get him cheaper,  if Bengals need salary dump then draft captial gets cheaper:

As seen by Tuney Chiefs Bears trade and DEEBO to Washington as well was very cheap draft captiol because of salary issues

The Bengals offense is going to need to score 100/game then

and that didn't go so well for them last year either!!!

Sounds like 4th rounder not 6th for Tuney

Drew Dalman, Falcons’ starting center, becomes a free agent next week. Rumors of the Bears’ interest in him are gaining steam. He’s clearly the best center available. Only question is what’s the price?

I've seen $18-$21 a year

Back up plan could be Raiders Vet get way cheaper.  But Dalman should be the one

Also have DE Philly Sweet could get a good chunk

Having 3 picks in top 43 is helpful on flexibility

I keep hearing that the Bears building their OL in the offseason may mean that go after Jeanty in 1st Roung. Ugh. I hope not. Keep building the trenches on both sides!

Didn’t the bears just sign a center from the Rams?

Bears sign Grady Jarrett, a quality DT released by the Falcons. A run stuffer. 3 yrs., $43.5 million. Very nice pickup.

Agreed

Who?

What about the Michigan DT at 10.  Mason Graham I think.

There’s also Michigan DT Kenneth Grant. He’s a good fit, but not at #10. Trade down? That’s @Coach Nowlin’s position.

Mason Graham at 10 could be someone I could get behind, very disruptive DT

Kenneth Grant at 10 would not be, but if they decide after this FA frenzy that they still want to go with DT (I don't after signings today of DT from ATL ) then do so later in Round 1.

I think if somehow Graham is there at 10, it would make sense, but how does the Coaches feel about Booker?  I mean, he was taken in 5th in 24 as a very raw, talented active YOUNG player, who if stayed in Kansas this year could be graded out 1st/2nd round from chatter last year, so if Coaches feel like that is where Austin Booker is trending then makes no sense to draft Graham in my opinion.   I think both him and Carter at both gone in picks 1-9 personally.  Thought Graham and Booker different positions could show what the Bears are thinking overall

Left Tackle:  Are you sure Braxton Jones on Rookie contract is your best choice at LT ?  If so then wouldn't be surprised if Jeanty is the pick, if your still iffy on him, then you are taking Best LT on board at Ten:  Campbell, Banks, Simmons?

I saw that. Graham is rated higher for whatever reason.

AI reason below

AI Overview

Mason Graham is currently rated higher than Kenneth Grant in the 2025 NFL Draft primarily due to his higher projected draft position, more complete skillset, and perceived higher ceiling as a pass rusher.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Draft Projections:
Graham is widely projected to be a first-round pick, potentially even in the top 10, while Grant is generally projected in the 20-40 overall range.

  • Skillset:
While both are strong defensive tackles, Graham is viewed as more of a "complete" player, excelling in both run defense and pass rushing. Grant is known for his strength and run-stopping ability, but Graham is perceived as having more pass-rushing upside.

  • Impact and Performance:
Graham has a more established track record of high performance and impact, including being a two-time All-American and a unanimous first-team All-American in 2024. Grant, while impactful, has been in a rotational role at Michigan, while Graham has been a consistent starter.

  • Scouting Reports:
NFL draft analysts have praised Graham's "elite run-stuffing ability and disruptive pass-rush skills," as well as his "active hands" and "understanding of how to win with leverage". Grant is described as a "big old wall on the line of scrimmage" with "surprising burst for a player his size".

  • Wrestling Background:
Graham's wrestling background is seen as a significant asset, providing him with exceptional hand-fighting and leverage skills.

  • Positional Potential:
While both have similar NFL positional potential, Grant is viewed as more of an "immovable object" style player, while Graham is seen as more adept at torquing off blockers.
