Bears add Eric Bieniemy as running backs coach. A long time OC in the League and, until he left the Chiefs a few years ago, was annually among the leading candidates for a head coaching job.

I would guess that, by now, he’s realized he’s not going to be a HC in the NFL. So, he took a job as a position coach. I think there are 2 possible reasons to do so:

1. He understands his ceiling is as an offensive coordinator, and he views this as a step on the path to that.

2. The job is a lot easier than being an OC, with less responsibility, and he’s just mailing it in these days.

no doubt skill is there to be a Coach of RB's.

My issues is he is just a GIANT...........

From a very well thought of member of the NFL coaching who is currently a finalist for Saints job, Saints are waiting for Super Bowl to end and then they will talk to Moore one more time and make a decision

The Bears Matriarch has passed away:

https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2025/02/06/virginia-mccaskey-bears-obit-dies-102-halas

Quote

Virginia Halas McCaskey, the matriarch of the Bears franchise and the NFL’s most direct link to its very founding, died Thursday morning at the age of 102.

In a statement, the Bears said that “while we are sad, we are comforted knowing Virginia Halas McCaskey lived a long, full, faith-filled life and is now with the love of her life on earth.”

One of founder George Halas’ two children, McCaskey was born Jan. 5, 1923. She and late husband Ed McCaskey raised 11 children together in an unassuming home in Des Plaines.

After her brother, George “Mugs” Halas Jr., died in 1979, she was in line to inherit the team from her father — and did upon his death on Oct. 31, 1983, becoming one of the few women in sports to hold such a powerful position.

Manhole covers, nickels, bears greats.

Doesn’t ring a bell Muda?   Some bears fan you are.

Relax, she is in heaven now, a much better place.

Though you strike me as the kind that thinks once we are gone, we will just be worm food.  Sad.

That's a Mike Ditka quote, chief.  In regards to George Halas and how he ran his team.

And yes, worm food.

Don't jump back in when that sliver of hope becomes a mainstay

fun fact, former Rensselaer Bomber Middle schooler

His father once coached at SJC

sure wish the Pumas were hiring like 40-50 some year old coaches when in operation !!  Never got to reap the reward of coaches kids on team from college towns.

However, clinic this weekend, former DC/HC Cory Sanders was a feature speaker, has been at PITT for 8 years as safety coach.  Great reconnecting with him, I told him same thing, always hiring those young pups, never got that teenager!!  🙂

Quite the pipleine of coaches at SJC since I have been at RCHS:

Sanders:  Pitt

Lou Espisito:  DL coach Michigan, left Memphis DC job before he actually cordinated that posistion this past year I think

Dave Denham:  Charlotte

Lester: OC Iowa

Jake Moreland:  TE coach NFL Texans

MIke LaFleur OC Rams

All Came through St. Joe last 20 years.

Probably some truth to it, but not to extent of what that Podcaster is trying to portray, I find that hard to believe that the OC just said, nah, and left a rookie QB hanging......maybe Waldren prefer that position coaches did all the film work and the Waldren would cover stuff as a whole O unit in meeting, that is more plausible, but way all the articles are being written is to make Waldron look even worse, but perhaps that was his "method".

Im a big fan of MOVING FORWARD, so more and more of those things I am paying no attention to:  System in place, coaches in place, all look to be alingned vertically, time to go to work

Not familiar with that name. Looking forward to seeing what he's all about. I'll take anybody at this point. Just keep building competition in that room and see who could be the best that can improve that sieve in 2024

I want to see who all will be available, however, I want them to engage and if that makes him highest paid, and Poles feels its worth the investment based on every other piece he has planned then I am for it

Been down this road before.    I would love it.   Doubt it happens

I can't get behind the paywall. Did the Indiana legistlature try once again to offer a deal to get them to build in Hammond or Gary? I can't figure out what Warren is doing. He's obsessed with talking about loving to see cranes in the Chicago skyline and he wants the new stadium in the city on the lakefront. But, i did hear one interview where he was admitting Arlington Heights is a viable spot. Maybe he's just politicking to get the best tax rates in Arlington Heights? Maybe the McCaskey's can get enough loans to self finance if the state doesn't chip in, maybe Warren is truly obsessed with getting a stadium built in the city. Who knows at this point....
