Solid start for Love. Jacobs looks good too. Just cannot get movement in short yardage. Ben Johnson putting his team in tough spots. That last attempt on 4th down was just a bad decision.

Agreed.  I just posted that in bears 25 thread. Guess I could have went here too.  Pack looking good

Ben Johnson costing his team dearly in this one. HAVE to kick the FG on that 4th down. It eliminates the need to go for 2 at some point later in the game.

Agreed.  The 2nd Pack interception, correct?  Man. What has the NFL become?   1 yard and can’t/won’t run the ball.

Missed FGs, and one after a delay of game penalty where the 5 yards could have madea difference. Add to it, that delay was after a time out.

Missed PAT

2 huge kick returns given up to set up short fields to score.

Cannot run the ball and no adjustments in blocking for that.

Too often there was no hot route at all for the blitzes Chicago ran.

Most of these things have been a problem not just this season, but for as long as LaFleur has been a head coach here. He is supposed to be talking with team leaders about an extension. He should be told to hit the road. he is not going to get them to a super bowl.

Was asked about his contract by what appeared to be a Packers beat (spelling?) writer.  Handled it well.  Tough and honest question.  Right after the game might not be the best place to ask that though.

I missed that. And I have been surprised by the reaction last weekend when Jay Glazier put MLF on his time will tell list. People following Green Bay have seen this all too often. I look at the point in McCarthy’s career that Green Bay let him go. Will they allow LaFleur to stay longer and miss the playoffs too? At least McCarthy got them a Super Bowl win. Talk all the numbers you want, but LaFleur has maybe one playoff win when his was an underdog at Dallas two years ago. But he sure has lost plenty while being the favorite or when having a sizable lead. I sat through the San Francisco game when Green Bay was the 1 seed in the bitter cold and they blew it.
They looked like the best team in the league the first two weeks of the season, but looked average at best the rest of the way. In every loss except the Ravens game, they ran out to a lead in the first half only to blow it late. And multiple times, it was at least a two score lead.

I would add

In the Denver game and last night, they had a chance to extend those leads and put the game out of reach, and failed to do so.

So was Mr. McManus allowed to ride to back to Green Bay with the team, or was he given a cab ride to O'Hare and told to get as far away from Lambeau field as possible?

There should be several people along with him.

Nixon should be gone too. This along with the absolutely STUPID personal foul he got earlier in the game.

Beat spelling writer is a terrible job. Everyone hates you.

It was on ESPN Sportscenter. Maybe 15 minutes after the game.  There was really nothing groundbreaking in the interview besides the timing of that question.

While the Packers deserved to lose, this is something George Halas would have never said, or as an owner, allow his coach to say. Appreciate the rivalry and the intensity that comes with it, but be better Ben.

He is acting quite arrogant.  The handshake after the game was simply childish imo.

I don’t recall the announcers making much of this, but they were talking about Stevenson (I think) jogging while Love was running to gain a 1/10 and still in bounds.  I get not hurting your team with a late hit, but man was it a bad look for Stevenson.  Your clip provided, yeah, gotta get physical there for the boys.

What is with all the disdain and the handshake episode?  There has to be some history there I would assume.

Not sure. My best guess was when Johnson was named head coach, he said one thing he enjoyed doing was beating Matt LaFleur twice a year. LaFleur responded as though he did not even know the guy. The handshakes have always been quick. Looked like Johnson had some things to say as he approached LaFleur before the handshake last night.

Thanks Irish....just was wondering why the disdain and assumed they had crossed paths earlier.  Kind of stange if LaFleur doesn't know him

Yep

took a deeper dive to see if there was something in his background. Nothing there. Grew up in South Carolina. Went to Boston College. I am guessing he wanted to fire up the Bears fans with his comment, but should have said beating the Packers twice a year. No clue why he chose to say LaFleur instead of Green Bay.

Kickers always get the blame when the rest of the team doesn't produce and the coaching also sucks.
