Penn to Elkhart trying to maximize his opportunities.  Interesting considering the history of both programs.

Just a hunch, but could this have to do with the St Joe receiver transferring to Penn ? The St Joe kid had more catches and yards than Bardo did last year. Maybe Bardo didn’t want to share so to speak.

The other two best receivers in the state both reside at Northrop. Wonder why it doesn't bother them? At the end of the day, colleges know who Bardo is...........won't matter if he has 10 catches or 50. I understand the logic though.

Wait.................the three best receivers in the state all up north? What was that about going east vs west rather than north vs south for the all star game?

None of those 3 will play in the all star game next summer.  The disparity comes down to depth more than star power.

Gr8 feedback. What, if any, advice would you give other programs so that they may continue to have community involvement on friday nights? Free tickets to feeder programs or at least maybe a discounted season pass? Any adults over 60 get in free? Heck adults over 50?

It's an interesting question. The simplest answer is mojo. Be a winner, seem like a threat to make noise in November, and play as many interesting opponents as possible in the regular season. Do the games make it worth it for the average community member without a player on the team or a family with young kids––even with free tickets––to invest three or so hours and a little hassle on Friday nights in the fall?

If a certain area, let's say Elkhart, can produce stars, why can't it produce depth?

Monshun Sales is the best receiver in the state and he plays at Lawrence North. He's a 5* recruit and 2nd nationally at his position.

I can get on board with the mojo aspect. All great points. Everyone loves a winner. Especially in today's age of streaming contests, getting butts in seats seems to get tougher by the year. If I were an AD I would follow some of the ideas you laid out, make it an event. The school districts probably have tons of red tape yet I have been to an East Noble game and their game day experience made me want to come back and at the time I had no ties to the program. Let the kids get face paint or do a psuedo combine for fun. Alumni in free if you sign up through the school. I would pull out all stops, yet as you say, if the tams is 0 for, there is not much anyone can do.

Okay, no worries...............24/7 has the Northrop kid ranked #1. Just depends on the ranking I guess.

24/7 still has both receivers at Northrop, so who knows. They also have the Bardo kid at Penn still.

Sales is only a junior, Bardo and Guilford are seniors. Sales is a 5* and a top 20 recruit nationally in the class of 2027.

Big Transfer news in Elkhart.

Tayshon Bardo announced on X that he has committed to Elkhart leaving Penn.

Tayshon is a 4 star recruit who is a Wisconsin recruit.

Elkhart has

hit the transfers hard the last couple of years.

Penn really not losing anything, Everyone I talked to feels the Junior St Joe transfer Brayson Hurley is every bit as good as Bardo, if not better. He is 6-3 220, I could see him being a D1 tight end .

A 4 star Big Ten commit leaving your school is called not losing anything?

Not when you get an equally talented athlete who is only a Junior. Word on the street is that he has visited Big Ten schools.

And I should have worded it differently. Didn’t mean we didn’t lose anything. I meant it’s kind of a wash. We lost a good Athlete but also gained one .

Yeah because even a wash in this scenario is a loss. Unless Bardo transferring is more of an addition by subtraction situation.

Lets be real here . Not taking anything away from this young man , but he is not a 4 star . If he was , his offer list would look like ND , Michigan , Alabama , Clemson , USC , Miami , Georgia , etc . You get the point . Heck , even Wisconsin lists him as a 3 star . Not sure where this 4 star nonsense comes from . You can always tell a 4 star or higher by the schools that are offering .

Taken right off the Wisconsin website

  • Bardo, a three-star recruit, reaffirmed his commitment to Wisconsin after an official visit in May.

I wonder the metrics they use..I wouldn't mind starting a rating service myself...

What's the story on him this year? He's not even listed in Elkhart's WR stats on Maxpreps.

Go for it.  Plenty of less than intelligent adults out there dying to throw money at you.
