Andean could beat 23-25

What are you smoking and where can I get some of it. Merrillville isn't in the top 25 yet, and they beat Andrean by almost 4 scores. Andrean is a really, really good 2A team, STOP RIGHT THERE, DON'T GO ANY FURTHER

I've got East Noble over Merrillville, probably by a touchdown. Maybe even 10+. This team is special.

As I said. im not a big Merrillville person. But there team is different than years past they don’t quit and they get stronger as game goes on. I believe there QB is top 5 in passing in state? And they have 2 RBs that were a top 3 duo in state last year that haven’t gotten going yet. This team is definitely a top 10 overall in state. But time will tell fully expect the purple and white to win by a huge margin this week with a shutout

Merrillville has been in top 25 for last 3 weeks.

Yall dropped them out for losing to a top ranked Loyola team that they should have beat. (If you watched the game you know the truth) and to a crown point team that can’t defend the pass. Not making excuses for Merrillville but down a starting LB and 1 DT. That changes the fact crown point can run. Crown point can’t do anything but run but they won fair and square. All I’m saying is this team is top 10! And will be in state finally after the last 8 years. Now they will lose at state but they will be there

I don’t think so portage is horrible. They should be able to have a running clock of not close to a running clock by half. From what I understand they are healthy now since week 1 outside of missing a WR that’s still out a few more weeks

If you know Rodney, he was laying on the sarcasm.

Not saying your wrong. I might be on board with putting Merrillville in that #15 area based on there performance against CP. Was that game really ever competitive? The final score doesn't look bad, but I wanna say they were playing from way behind the entire game. I have no axe to grind with Merrillville. In fact, I'd love to see this team win 5A for their outstanding community of football fans. I just have my reservations. Anytime they play a good time, they seem to lose by double digits. But hey, maybe this year's team is different.

You are correct. CP was up handily…28-0 I think at one point. Merrillville is very talented at skill positions but oline is average at best. Defense is very fast but can be run on vs teams with good and big olines like CP. Merrillville is definitely a top 20 team in the state and I would argue top 15.

CP on the other hand proves again that they can play against fast, athletic teams this year but how will they fair vs bigger and just as physical teams as them??? CP defense is much improved from last year and the offense is a power running team with a passing attack to TE’s. Boring but effective.

That kind of resume gives them the opportunity to compete for a 5A semi-state, but that's about it. And in 6A, games are won in the trenches. They'd probably be lucky to get out of sectionals.

Exhibit A: Snider. Weak in the trenches. On their way to 5A next season. Could have won sectionals last season with a weak offensive line, but most programs don't have 3 D1 and 2 D2 guys on defense to bail them out. Not the case this season............5A looming.

Anyway, good luck to Merrillville, I wish them well.

Any top 25 list that does not include Merrillville has no credibility. None, Zippo. Merrillville would beat all the teams from your 16-25 and possibly 14-25.

Probably unfair to the 2025 edition of Merrillville football, but I just can't take them seriously on a state wide level.  Just seems they fall flat on their face when playing someone outside of northwest Indiana.

Carroll and Warsaw have closed the gap on the central Indiana teams and obviously Crown Point has but I can't buy Merrillville as a sure fire top 20/25 team.

So, if Merrillville is a top 15 team in the state and was down 28-0 to Crown Point, I assume you have Crown Point at #1?

My point was not about Merrillville. They could very well be in anyone's top 25 and could have a decent arguement. Not sure about top 10, but I'll give you 25. You then went on to say that Andrean could beat the 23-25 teams. That is where you lost any credibility whatsoever for creating a top 25.

Saw on Twitter ( X) or whatever they call it now, that Center Grove has 2 of their best players, receiver annd runningback,  out for the season or at least most of the year. If that’s the case, could definitely change some things for them.

Tough to hear Pike QB is injured. That kid is a heck of a football player. Lots of injuries thus far this season for multiple teams.

I heard about the WR.

Portage is indeed horrible. Lost way too many players to the portal. They're reaping what they sowed by firing Richards. Merrillville's JV will be getting some good minutes on Friday night.

No doubt.  I probably have CP overrated but they can’t help it as they scheduled Pike.  All they can do is beat the teams in front of them.

I have a hard time seeing them not enter the tournament undefeated.

Would love to see em get a BD/Warren/CG on the schedule in the future.

If I’m not mistaken, you are the same guy that had Pike beating CP like a mule. Well how’d that turn out?

I saw CP against Merrillville, and they are legit. But if they want to be playing late into November, they need to sharpen up the passing attack. They’re not going to be able to just line up and play bully ball against really good 6A teams.

I'll take Carroll over those two teams with a good size bet.

Only losing at HSE by a touchdown without the guy who torched CG for three touchdowns.

Toilet bowl? Nah. True north has taken two of the last three semi-states. Not keeping up on current events?

Can’t get there with Carroll this year. Just don’t see it. Think CP handles them by double digits in a potential Regional matchup. CP will be done if/when they play Carmel in semi-state. Inevitable to me that we will get Brownsburg vs. Carmel for the 6A title with Brownsburg taking home the title. Unless injuries raise their ugly heads…

I was at the Center Grove game, they went toe to toe with them. Had CG trapped in there own territory most the third quarter, but couldn't take advantage and take the lead. Center Grove finally scored to make it 28-17 and that was it for the Chargers. Carroll was the harder hitting team, took it to the Trojans pretty good. I think this team has potential to give Crown Point a run for their money. Beating Kevin Wright and his 5000 students is another story.
