Penn coaches allowed the team to score 62 against Washington. WOW. Normally Penn calls the dogs off and starts asking the refs to throw flags if we score.

Avon is a dang good 2 loss team nail biter against HSE and then a shoot out vs Brownsburg. They appear to be better than years prior.

Yeah after giving up 3 touchdowns to portage merrillville should definitely move up 🙄

Did you watch the game??? No you didn’t. Him just being a you know what!! It was 37-3 when Merrillville puts subs and subs to the subs in.

Also, Merrillville being ranked has more so to do with the fact that I refuse to rank 1-3 teams in Carroll and BD.

Gotta win games.

@LC_Bears_04Unrealistic not to have a Fort Wayne team in the Top 25. Pick your team, Dwenger, Carroll, or both. Insert them where you will, but I have both those teams potentially beating 5 or 6 teams on your list

I have both in there

You're Saints are looking pretty good Rodney, glad to see them back. I liked what I saw from Carroll when they played CG. Couple that with competing with HSE despite their top offensive weapon sitting on the sidelines, one has to conclude that Dwenger is pretty good. Wonders how good St Francis De Sales is. I know they have a rich history in Ohio.

I think Fort Wayne area football this year is bad. The SAC is the worst it has been in at least 25 years and if Dwenger is the best we got, wow. East Noble I was decently high on until it took a walk off touchdown to beat DeKalb last night. DeKalb??!! Warsaw I thought had possibilities until I figured out that offensively challenged Snider put up 30 points on them. Adams Central is the best bet to make noise from the area.

I saw Carroll play CG, they're pretty good. And they came within a touchdown of HSE without their top offensive weapon.

Dwenger lost to Roncalli by 3, probably a little rusty being first game of the season. Win over DeSales was impressive, as was the win over Carroll.

Every team has a one off, I think the Dekalb game was East Noble's. They had less then a minute to wake up and get the job done, and they did. Still think they are good.

Warsaw isn't as good as some think they are, defense is bad.

ok I've given it 9 hours and I still don't know who you were talking about when you said him, but the running guess is me.

the sac could very well be down slightly this year overall, I still think some of the doom is over exaggerated though.

at least you aren't spinning in circles justifying giving up 23 points to a first round sectionals team.

or a personal favorite of mine, crying because you couldn't beat the big bad private school.

Well, I try to call it like I see it. Some might think I'm biased :).

I was impressed with Carroll after their two close losses against Hamilton SE and Center Grove.  Last week I had Carroll ranked 15 on my list.  I was very surprised by the loss to Dwenger.  What happened to their offense?  I guess they were missing Jimmy Sullivan.  Dwenger and Carroll will have chances to move up depending on how they do against Snider and Homestead.

Let’s get the context here, Dwenger lost by 3 to Roncalli, you forget to mention they were shutout 3-0…. Didn’t score a TD if my memory is correct against Carroll so 2 games with zero TD’s…

East Noble needing a walk off touchdown against DeKalb is a one off? Freaking Dekalb??!! Come on now!!!

Warsaw has no defense, gave up 30 points to Snider who is offensively challenged to say the least.

Gotta call it like I see it. I am of the belief that this is Snider’s worst team since the 90’s. SAC is plain awful this year. There is no sugar coating it. Eye test don’t lie…

Understood, good stuff. But couldn't you say the same for Roncalli? Carroll scored double what Roncalli did, and the Rebels hung 41 on Columbus North.

At least we agree on Warsaw.

The Dwenger/East Noble winner will go to state. Take it to the bank.

Snider's down this year, I get that. But Homestead, Dwenger, Northrop, North Side, and South Side are up. Carroll is at minimum equal to last year. Luers is Luers. Not sure why you're so down on the SAC. Is the SAC 6A good? No. But "plain awful"? C'mon Komets.

Dekalb played the arses off.  NUFF SAID about that one!

Every great team has that one game, they just do. East Noble crushed Snider and disposed of Huntington North 38-0. Good grief, so they had a down game.

East Noble didn't have a "down game".  They just ran into a team that had a lot of 'purpose' to show their internal fortitude with a fellow NE8 team that has a new HC that came from EN.

There was/is a whole lot of underlying things that came into that contest.

"Moral Victory" for DeKalb. Perhaps?   (a) "Wake up call" for EN, definitely!

In any case, this is great thing for the NE8 to have the teams that recently have been 'middling' actually being a force for those at the top to focus on, rather than a week off.

HN over CC?  that happened on Friday also.
