Donnie Baker Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 We’ll run this until the last team is standing (Riverton Parkes). Lafayette Central Catholics @ Seegers 2A North Sullivan @ South Vermilions 2A South 1A South Attica @ South Putnams The Woofs @ Fountain Central Little Rubbers @ North Central The Tenderloins @ North Vermilions Quote
WRC123 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 LCC @ Seeger - Seeger takes care of business. Down year for LCC and Seeger is playing great ball. Should be a great round two ball game next for them. Seeger 38-12 Sullivan @ South Vermillion - The Wildcats lose this game but have a good young group to build on for the future. I don't think SV is too far out from being able to compete again. Sullivan wins 52-12 Attica @ South Put - Great season Attica. Huge improvements this year from the Ramblers and I only see them getting better. South Put is the front runner for the state title in most people eyes (not mine). South Put wins by as much as they want. PH @ FC - Surely Herb won't mess this up. I've heard that PH was up 6-0 early and Fountain Central kept turning the ball over. I do think that The Mustangs will do what they need to do and win this game. FC wins 48-8 Sadly for @ThePrince the Mustangs season only has one more week. My question to Prince would be is it time for your kin to ride into the sunset? Covington @ North Central - This should be the game of the week. I think there will be a lot of points scored. Covington has played a tougher schedule. North Central's best win is against 2-7 South Spencer... Covington wins this one by two scores. Covington 38-20 RP @ NV - This one was close for the first half last time these teams faced. It was 21-3 at halftime and NV had multiple chances in the red zone but did not convert. It will not be remotely close this time. The Panthers are on a mission and as I previously stated that some see South Put as the favorite I see Riverton Parke as the favorite. They are going to run the ball down everyones throats straight to Indy. In class 1A Riverton has the best offense and defense statistically and they will show it during this playoff run. Panthers by as much as they want. Quote
ThePrince Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 LCC @ Seeger - Seeger is really good and I see them making it to their sectional championship. It's a down year for LCC. Sullivan @ SV - This will be a similar score to last time these two teams played. Sullivan wins 63-12. It's time to get the Wildcats ready for some basketball. Attica @ South Put - South Put wins easily. They better get up early then rest those starter because they get to play one of the toughest teams they'll play this year next week when they face the Mustangs. PH @ Herb's - Mustangs will take care of business just like they did last week. Mustangs are 5-1 in their last 6 games and continue to improve. I've said it multiple times and I'll say it again NO ONE wants to play the Mustangs right now! @WRC123 It's not time yet! Stangs win big! Covington @ NC - North Central wins in a close one 36-30. If it was at Covington I'd pick them but it's not. RP @ NV - The Panthers win this one and we're one step closer to an epic rematch of week 3! 1 Quote

Is this honestly a joke? @ThePrince Have you happened to take a look at south Putnam's schedule? They have only played one 1A team all year. I think reality will hit you about as hard as it will hit us this week. Have a Blessed day. 1 1 Quote

It will be a running clock vs South Put in two weeks despite the roster of D1 players the Mustangs field on Friday nights. Quote

BillyBettis Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Lots of hate on Coach King. Sad. The conference is going to be worse when he decides to hang up his whistle. We hate Moore, King, Barrett. Every coach had a stint where they dominated this conference, Moore twice. I don’t get it. Let’s give them their flowers while they can smell them. Quote

King has discipled some good coaches as well. Matt King @ Marian. James Kent was HC at Robinson. Nick Wheeler HC at NC Farmersburg. Cody Stout at big 10 Minnesota. Quote

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul". 2 Quote

You mentioned that he produced a coach that is coaching D1, agreeing with the Prince that he has produced some sort of D1 talent. The Rockville water may be getting to you sir. Quote
Bear54 Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 Tough to hear of the passing of Coach Blank, sad day in the WRC. He will be missed. Prayers to his family. Round 1 picks... Lafayette Central Catholic @ Seeger - The Knights had high expectations, but got bullied by the Patriots in the first game of the season. They haven't really recovered since. Fitting they'll end their season in a rematch against Seeger. Patriots handle business again, but it's a bit more competitive. Seeger 35 LCC 21 Sullivan @ South Vermillion - Pretty similar to the other 2A game. The Golden Arrows roughed up the young Wildcats early on in the season. This time around might be a bit closer, but not by much. Sullivan advances. Sul 45 SV 18 Attica @ South Putnam - A much improved year for the Ramblers comes to a sudden end. How much mercy will the Eagles show? Harrell prediction says 35-0? Lol. Maybe in the first quarter. SP will showcase their arsenal to the rest of the Sectional field. SP 63 Attica 0 Parke Heritage @ Fountain Central - The Woolfs have finally come back to reality, despite the rantings of one Billy Bettis. Their prize for being ranked 10th by the coaches two weeks ago was back to back (to back) butt whoopings by the Panthers and Mustangs. On to basketball in Rockville. On the other hand, Herb's team is on a mission to prove they aren't just a hype machine and paper tigers. We'll have to wait until Round 2 to see. FC 42 PH 16 Covington @ North Central (Farmersburg) - Probably the most intriguing match up of the first round. The Trojans can score some points against the right defense. The Thunderbirds can as well. On a side note, both head coaches are last named Wheeler. Any relation? Anyways, I think this one will be a shootout, with the home team coming out on top. NC 42 Cov 35 Riverton Parke @ North Vermillion - The WRC Champ Panthers now shift their focus to a winning a Sectional Championship. The Falcons may have a little extra motivation this week, but do they have the dudes? The first meeting between these two was close for a minute. Look for RP to quell any upset hopes very early this time around. Panthers advance. RP 44 NV 10 Quote

If I'm being completely honest, I am unsure of what his history was prior to North Vermillion. My understanding was that at one point he was coaching in Missouri, but please do not quote me on that. I really got to know him while coaching track several years ago. We would talk a lot of football and it was clear that not only did he know the game inside and out, but that, as you said, his players loved him because they knew how much he cared not just about them on the field/in the ring but as people. Garman54 Posted October 23, 2025 Posted October 23, 2025 Ben did coach in Missouri for quite awhile. The high school he was at was pretty successful, just like most places he’s been. When his family moved back to the Terre Haute area, he coached with me on Jeff Cobb’s staff at West Vigo before going to North Vermillion. He was a great coach and even better human. I loved coaching with and against him for many years. He has had a great impact wherever he’s been. He will be missed. 1 Quote
Donnie Baker Posted October 27, 2025 Author Posted October 27, 2025 Round 2 has Seeger at Lewis Cass in 2A In 1A South Putnam is at Fountain Central and North Central at Riverton Parke. Seeger had a nice season but playing in the WRC doesn’t prepare them for the 2A tournament. Ask South Vermilions. Cass should roll in this game and probably meet Southmont in the final South Putnams has been my South favorite the last 2 years. Sorry Prince this could get ugly. Chuck will be smart and them rested for the Tenderloins in week 12. I was told in August they were a year away. Have they closed the gap with South Putnams? 1 Quote
WRC123 Posted October 27, 2025 Posted October 27, 2025 Seeger @ Lewis Cass - I think this game will be close. Seeger fell apart in the second half last week but I don't see that happening this week. They will play hard and compete the whole game. Coach Ragan is a great coach and has done a fantastic job with this team. Seeger wins 28-26 South Put @ FC - Sorry Prince but this one won't be close. Herb is a great coach and has done some awesome things in the WRC but this game won't be one of them. South Put wins 54-12 North Central @ RP - The Panthers didn't play their best game last Friday. I'm wondering if maybe they rested some of their starters again but a win is a win and it was also by 40. I guess I just have higher expectations for the Panthers. I truly think they are the best team in 1A and will roll this week. Panthers win this one 52-14. Should be an awesome sectional championship. Does anyone know where the game will be played? Quote

Panthers sat their QB and multiple starters who were banged up. 528 yards rushing for the second team backfield isn’t too bad. Should both SP and RP win Friday, the game will be at RP. Quote
ThePrince Posted October 27, 2025 Posted October 27, 2025 (edited) Seeger @ Lewis Cass - Seeger keeps on rolling. I know they almost lost it last week but they're playing too well to pick against and I'll give them the go ahead nod just because they're in the WRC. Seeger 28 - LC 21 South Put @ Fountain Central - This is the game of the week. Probably the best game in the state on Friday. South Put will be coming into Mustang Country and its going to be a heck of a game! The Mustangs are primed and ready to battle. Giving up only 4.5 points in their last four game and scoring 51 points in those same games. FC is on a mission to prove everyone wrong and show they are one of the top teams in 1A. Herb will pull out all of his tricks if needed and win this in a close one. 35-30 MUSTANGS. We're one week away from THE REMATCH North Central @ Riverton Parke - I think most people just thought that the Panthers would beat the Falcons more handedly. They were up 21 at halftime whereas South Put was up 55 at halftime against the Ramblers. A win is a win so I guess it doesn't really matter. I'm glad they were able to rest up and hopefully everyone on the team is up to full health in the next two weeks. RP wins this one but I do think NC will put some pressure on them early. Bear54 Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 Round 2... Seeger @ Lewis Cass - As expected, LCC put up more of a fight last week against the Patriots. I think the Kings will put up a good fight too. This one will be close. Patriots pull off another one point win. Seeger 35 Cass 34 South Putnam @ Fountain Central - As expected the Eagles didn't take it easy on the Ramblers til the end. The Mustangs whipped the Woolfs for the second week in a row. It's put up or shut up time in Veedersburg. I just don't think FC has enough dudes. SP 42 FC 21 North Central(Farmersburg) @ Riverton Parke - The T-Birds showed some grit beating Covington last week. The Panthers were methodical and very efficient last week against the inspired Falcons. 528 rushing yards with mostly back-ups isn't anything to shake a stick at. I don't think NC has the dudes up front to deal with the dudes that RP has. Panthers advance. RP 48 NC 12 Quote
First_Backer_Inside Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 Seeger @ Lewis Cass - Stop the FullBack for the Kings, win the game. Just speaking from experience when Rochester played them. Easier said than done Gavin Smith is a stud running the ball on down. Haven't seen much of Seeger. The last three years, Seeger has matched up with TRC teams in the playoffs, 1-2 through those three years. History would say the Kings in this one, but a lot of talk saying the TRC is down this year. Not a good team in the conference, maybe Seeger can get it done this year. Quote
