Coach Hurley shouldn't say he let the conference down...he has had some help.

Season SIAC Champion Won Sectional? Eliminated By
2025 Evansville Memorial Gibson Southern (PAC)
2024 Evansville Memorial Heritage Hills (PAC)
2023 Evansville Reitz Heritage Hills (PAC)
2022 Evansville Reitz Boonville (PAC)
2021 Evansville Memorial Northview
2020 Evansville Memorial Mooresville (Regional)

I'm not sure what you intended to say but at least half of what you wrote is incorrect.

Yeah....I need to slow down...but the premise holds.

Since the team I follow is going to play them. How good is Gibson Southern and Evansville Memorial this season, compared to last year. Or the years before? What can we expect? I admit that I know very little about them other than the fact that they’re both very successful.

Memorial should be very good.

Gibson Southern is just a little 3A school in the middle of a cornfield.  Probably not much for you guys to worry about…lots of new faces for GS.  Hopefully we stay healthy.

Intereresting what you said earlier about them.  Looks like FC looses a QB who threw for over 2,200 yards & 18 TD's and a RB who rand for 1,755 yards & 24TD's.  Converting a 3 years starter at WR (who must be a really nice athlete) to QB and return 2 OL.  FC looks to have also lost a couple DL, LBs and DBs.  Nothing too big for a 5A school to recover from but based on earlier comments I would be expecting them to be returning more key pieces.

Dang...I forgot Reitz lost to Memorial in 2023....I refuse to use Harrell...looks like dementia has set in.  2023 is a blur for me.

And the sectional champion in four of those six season was from the SIAC.

If you want to try to connect the match ups of last years games with who you return.  FC beat Evansville North 15-10 in Sectional.  Memorial beat them 21-0 last year. FC beat Castle 49-14 in Sectional.  Memorial beat them 37-7 two weeks prior.
Memorial will be better this year.  Memorial has some spots to fill this year, but I think the key area to see who steps up is 2 to 3 spots in the line rotations on OL and DL.  I think everywhere else will be as good or better than last years team.  They return a lot. Quite a few, relatively speaking, sophomores started and contributed a lot of minutes on last years team.
You'll have plenty of games to watch by the time week 8 rolls around to see where they  are.

I have already heard from local Gibson County folks that you're looking good with the new faces.  And the projected QB will be throwing the ball all over the place.

Forgot to say “public” little 3A school in a cornfield.  (Fixed it for me)
