Tanka Jahari Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Has anyone seen instructions/protocol for cleaning of endzone cameras after normal Friday night use? Picture, if you will: It's a cold, rainy October Friday night. Following a Sectional game, the endzone cameraperson gets a sore throat and a cough. They are feeling under the weather, but this happens during football season with the weather being what it is. Cameraperson A calls on their back-up for the big Sectional Championship. Cameraperson B fills in nobly for Cameraperson A, but following the game, they start to feel sick. They end up testing positive for Covid-19, which they were infected with by using the Endzone camera that wasn't properly sanitized from the week before. How do we avoid this Endzone camera Covid transmission? 1 1 1 Quote

How do we avoid this Endzone camera Covid transmission? Great question. I'm less concerned about contact transmission through usage of the endzone camera. A bigger problem is going to be the camera guy's groupies and keeping them 6 ft. away. We all know the camera man has to fight the ladies off, especially if he is filming with the 31ft Hi-pod. We will need to keep them away from him during sectional time for sure. I can see an opponent sending a COVID-positive co-ed to entice the camera guy of next week's opponent to "swap spit" after the game. You know, take out the end zone camera and the battle will be won. No way for them to game plan without those sweet endzone views from the x2000 1 1 Quote

MarshallCounty Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 This is the time to end end zone cameras. We should be launching drones from outside locations and capture footage outside of the playing surface bubble. 1 Quote
Staxawax Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Simply put...... all end zone cameras are required to wear masks. Quote

Sir, I would like to say that you are ahead of your time, but this is already happening. I watched a football practice in another state during June. They were using drones to film the team portion and the view was just so............magnifique!! Edited July 7, 2020 by Tanka Jahari 1 Quote
