EIGHT FBS programs from the state of Texas (Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Houston, SMU, North Texas, UTEP and UTSA) all qualified for and are playing in bowl games...but the UNIVERSITY of TEXAS is not. That one blew my mind. NO excuse for the Longhorns to be this bad. Too late to pull out of the SEC deal? 3

Irishman Posted December 8, 2021 Author Posted December 8, 2021 Glad to have seen this move back to its own weekend a couple years ago. So much to love and appreciate about this game. I have said it before but John Feinstein's book "A Civil War" is a must read about this series. Go Navy!!! 2

Feinstein references an Army fullback by the name of Coby Short in a couple of places in the book. Coby played football here in our state for Bedford North Lawrence. Center Grove's Alex Aukerman had a great career at Army, and ended up #2 in all time sacks. His team won a couple of the games against Navy, 2 CIC trophies and is currently serving as an officer at Fort Knox, KY. Edited December 8, 2021 by Bash Riprock 3

Running the damn ball and controlling the clock. What the game was meant to be. And the fact that Navy won makes it that much sweeter. 3

Up until this year, Harbaugh had never beaten Ohio State or made the playoffs. Somehow that equates to him being a poor football coach. Earlier this year sometime, I put together a topic discussing the who the top football program in the country were over the last five years. Surprisingly, and quietly, Michigan graced a ranking of 6, 7, or 8 I believe. Anyway, they were in the Top 10, which is pretty damn good. It just goes to show you that the only thing fans seem to measure Michigan by is their ability to beat Ohio State and make the playoffs. That's a pretty high standard. Those affiliated with Michigan should be flattered. 1
BTF Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Correction, Michigan came in at #12 (not including this year). Hardly reason to fire a coach.
Irishman Posted January 1, 2022 Author Posted January 1, 2022 While the Alabama Cincinnati score was predictable, I did not see this coming in the UM Georgia game.

Muda69 Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 And once again the non-SEC teams, aka Cincinnati and Michigan, seem to be almost a step slower across the board when it comes to the skill positions.

Agreed 100%. Add LBs too. Unless you are counting them as skill positions
