Most of their starters are coming back. They'll have to replace about 5-6 key players. 35 Seniors next season. I really don't have a clue about BNL? You'd know more than I would. They lost Kirby and their ridiculousy good DE. Their coach is pretty good though. Edited December 11, 2025 by Fkfootball Quote

If not, it seems like independence will be the route they go even if it’s just for one year. Well, unless I'm missing something, it's clear that Bloom. South and/or Col. North won't be joining the HHC next season and will go the independent route at least for next season. Both teams have five opponents on their schedule for next season so far with those opponents being a mix of various conferences. Edited December 11, 2025 by ptr 1 Quote

Not sure what happened but Bloomington North’s schedule no longer has a week 1 game. Instead, it has them playing both Bloomington South and Mooresville in week 4. I’m sure that’s a mistake and they’ll still play Bloomington South in week 1. They can’t play Mooresville in week 1 because it looks like Columbus East picked up the Pioneers that week. Therefore, that Bloomington South schedule listed has multiple errors. Edited December 12, 2025 by Frozen Tundra Quote

See if Bragg to silver creek has any actual merit to it tho and what they’ll do at QB. bnl has a few new guys coming in to help with some things and some younger guys they’re excited about from what I hear. Will have to replace a lot on defense and what not but return 10 guys on offense from the sectional games and are happy with what they’ll be doing with their new QB should be a fun year for everyone with some new blood at coaches and what not. 1 Quote

His resume is pretty impressive honestly. He's coached college football. 13 hours ago, HHCFinebaum said: Yeah that’s fair about FC. I doubt he's going to do that. We heard those rumors last year about North Harrison and he laughed when I asked him about it. With the talent that program has and has coming up, I can't believe anyone would want to leave that job. If that job came open there'd be quite a few people lined up for it. Quote

It’s crazy how he had college football coaching jobs and an XFL coaching job at 19, 20, and 21 years old. 1 Quote
MacAttack53 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I’m a Maconaquah grad with a rooting interest in East as that is my mom and all of my aunts/uncles (besides one who attended “Columbus High School) alma mater. My uncle and cousins were all East football players and I’ve gotten to attend many big postseason games during the Gaddis era. Coach Campbell (and before him Coach Colby) took Maconaquah from a place where .500 was tolerable and above .500 was viewed as a great success to a point where they were competing for conference and Sectional titles yearly for the past few years. He’s quite an offensive innovator and if he can put up numbers like he did at a rural 3A with a handful of athletes, he can do much more than that at East. Sneaky good hire, IMO, by the O’s. 1 Quote

RetiredSouthernCoach Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Looks like some HHC movement in classes heading into next year. Enrollment numbers show East back to 4A. Floyd, NA, Seymour comfortably in 5A. Jeff still 6A, but could see some new sectional opponents. Former HHC Madison back to 4A. WIll be interesting to see how all the sectional alignments end up in spring. Quote

Will be interesting to see for sure. I will say this about your statement. It wasn't until he left Maconaquah that they won a conference championship or a sectional title. His handful of athletes included two of the very best athletes the TRC has seen in the last decade. He then went to be the offensive coordinator at Ben Davis with way more than a handful of athletes and they couldn't win. The guy has a great offensive mind, but I think he over complicates the game at times. I hope he has a great defensive coordinator as well because his defenses at Mac were less than impressive in his time there. There are plenty of positives like you mentioned that he did at Mac, but there are also plenty of things he will need to improve on in his experience to have success at East. Quote
boilerfan87 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I saw on one of the Kentucky high school football sites that Doug Preston was hired as the new coach at Jeff. He was the coach at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown for the last several years and Franklin-Simpson before that. All told, he's been a head coach for at least 20 years and very successful throughout that time. Nice hire for the Red Devils. 2 Quote

RetiredSouthernCoach Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Came across a few facebook group postings about Bloomington South joining the Hoosier Hills conference again. Know this has been before on here, but from the sounds of things, this is all but a done deal after multiple school AD's supported it. Also claims on the posts that Columbus North has an interest in joining also. WIll be interesting to see when this all actually happens. Bloomington south has multiple open weeks on their football schedule for 2026 Quote

Bloomington south has multiple open weeks on their football schedule for 2026 I haven't heard anything on that, but I'm not close to anyone around the football program so there is that. If true, I believe it will be starting with the 2027 season, at least in football, since the football schedules for current HHC teams are pretty much set for 2026. I would say that both South and Col. North will go ahead and play an independent schedule in football for next season, and they both still have some work to be done in filling out a schedule for next season. Quote

I haven’t seen anything official. All I’ve seen are conflicting posts. Some say Bloomington South is joining. Some say Columbus North is joining as well. Some say one or both are joining in all sports. Some say one or both are joining in all sports except football. I guess we’ll see. Quote
