  2. Oh..."education-based athletics" isn't just abandoned....it's LONG abandoned based on everything I've seen here so far. It truly amazes me how little folks here seem to so willingly walk away from this. Sorry. Count me as being opposed and thinking community and commitment (religious or geographic) actually means something... In the end, it really rarely matters just what HS some extraordinary football players went to that ultimately determined whether they played D1....or made it to the pros. The HS didn't mean anything. Talent RISES. More often than not, I read about some kid who played on a team that never made it out of Sectionals that ends up with a Super Bowl Ring and I'm AMAZED....just how could this crappy HS football program end up with a SUPERBOWL player?!?!? Happens all the time. Whatever you folks think, the cream most always rises. Transferring all over the d@mn place might get you (and your HS) a State Ring BUT it doesn't matter a single bit about whether great athletes get College opportunities..... In the end, all this transfer BS is about potential State Rings. I just wish fans, parents and players would be honest and admit it.
  3. Homer picks from personal experience only Jake Kiger: Rensselaer Central 2005, 3rd in Mr. Football Daniel Wodika: West Lafayette, 2009 (I think) Mr. Football
  4. Always been our forever home !!!! See you in a few weeks Excited to back home in 2a North, 219 Sectional !!! My Brothers!!! Literally been with HOF Coach Meeks from his 1st game in 1999 when he called a timeout and threw the kicking block back to the sidelines to WIN THE GAME with the 2 pt conversion for Victory with a Chris Yenna Belly if Im not mistaken. Film guy then, paid staff when student taught in 2003, OC in 2024 and counting......... Wouldn't have it another way. Goes for our DC as well, and Varsity Assistant in Coach Stevens, heck he was on staff my SR in 1997!! I've been known to deliver
  5. Lovie's final gift to Chicago Bears, classy as always Lovie !!!
  6. Dude, there is an entire backstory on Clacks that could take up this entire thread. It didn’t work out so well for him. Feel bad for him though. Henry struggled in big games all year and Ballentine was bad on recovery and honestly was underwhelming his entire senior year not all his fault but a lot was. He could never read rpo’s his entire career. Once Drayk was hobbled and MD shutdown run, pressure placed on QB’s and neither performed. On that day, the better team won. If healthy, maybe different outcome.

  8. Not seeing the FUNNY posted dude.. and I'd prefer to be addressed as Cinque
  9. Glad you brought that to the table. Thanks for the update Bash. This Irish team is expecting a national championship. A nine win season would be a colossal fail.
  10. Yankees - The Northern Caucasians
  11. Part of the reason Clacks left was because of the coaching during that game…lol. Strep throat or not they should have fed the ball to him more, he’d say the same. Ballentine did look bad in garbage time coming back, but then why go to him halfway through the biggest game of the year. Because they panicked and didn’t know what to do. If you don’t trust Henry, why are you giving him the option to throw with an rpo backed up in your own red zone with a minute left in the half? The current coaching staff has had a mound of excuses made for them every time they’ve lost in the postseason. It was a bad loss and overall a pretty embarrassing display, we don’t have to baby them.
  12. Going to be a fun one, tailgating should be popping beforehand.
  13. We have NIL for high school players here in California, but I haven't really seen that much impact, yet. The power programs before NIL are the same power programs after its implementation.
  14. I wasn’t alive but did we have a fair and honest, balanced media when Jefferson was around? The way the actions of these two buffoons who we have to choose between in November are covered by the mainstream media could not be more different. One is Hitler, no matter what decision he makes or what he says, and the other is a poor old man whom we should feel sorry for.
  15. If you recall, they did prep Ballentine but his arm was a rag arm. When he played earlier in playoffs, his arm was garbage. Not faulting him but he was a shell of himself. Henry played well during season all things considered but struggled in big games and did in that game. Bowen had a pcl injury since Merrillville game aggravated in semi state and sprained it in 1st quarter. Oh I almost forgot, Clacks has strep throat came on during walk through at LOS. So basically your entire offense is injured, recovering from injury and/or sick and MD coaches were brilliant in running a 4x4 stack they didn’t show all year. So Scarab the new OC for Andrean, what you going to do. Also, let’s not forget MD damn good team. I’m sorry but refuse to view that one as an example of a bad loss.
  16. all in fun--easy there, Spartacus...
  17. Absolutely IGNORANT! Faux, OAN are on TV. Let's be serious about the situation
  18. I’d buy the backup QB excuse if the kid hadn’t started basically the whole year outside of the first drive of the first game. Bowen did drag that team single-handedly to state, but if you know he’s banged up, don’t make the entire offensive game plan revolve around handing him the ball every play. Ballantine had been back a couple weeks if I recall correctly, if they really weren’t that confident in Henry they should’ve used that time to get Ballentine back in there as opposed to panicking and putting him in the second half of the state game when he had only played a couple of snaps in garbage time since he had been back. Yes Mater Dei was good, but I don’t know how one can say that was a well played and prepared for game by the Niners as a team and staff.
  19. I suspect there will be a future thread about 15 pages long about the flaws of SF after they pick up another blue ring in 2A. 😀 Lord, I apologize for that there.

  21. Looks like the bill is still in Michigan's senate committee on oversight. https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Bills/Bill?ObjectName=2023-HB-4816&QueryID=159688044 Basically, the bill seeks to: protect athletes' rights to enter into contracts within certain boundaries, create additional protections for minors from unscrupulous adults, mitigate abuse by schools or those adjacent to them, and ensure athlete eligibility in the age of social media influencing. Fairly reasonable legislation.
  22. I need one of those Wagon Masters. I swear to God I do
  23. In case you haven't noticed, the whole country has gone way overboard on political correctness. Our high school teams did not get the message which makes me sad. But, I'm here to help: Eagles, Falcons, or any other bird of prey: Raptors Indians or indigenous peoples: First Nations Bronc(h)os, Stallions, or anything horse-related--Equines Bison/ Buffalo: Bovines Bulldogs: Domesticated Canines Wolves: Largest Canines Cavaliers, Patriots: Defenders, Protectors Ancient (Athenian, Spartan, Trojan, etc.): Big Shot, Leviathan And the two nearest and dearest to my heart: Rebels: Agitators, Insurgents, Renegades Devils: Kings of Hell, Lucifer, Holly Terror, Scallywag, Wretch Your team may not be here, but don't think they're totally innocent, I just haven't come up with a name for them yet such as Greyhounds: sporting canine and Giants: Mutants Let's have them...
  24. I think it was Jefferson who said: “The government you elect is the government you deserve.”
