  1. I know Kevin Davis. Great guy and he is doing a great job as AD according to everyone I've heard from in the school district. Let's be careful and not assume what was written is what was actually said or meant to be said in the manner it was written. We see it all the time and knowing Kevin the way I do, I highly doubt it is accurate.

  2. This is a great summation by Andy Rooney "There have only been a handful of days since the beginning of time on which the direction the world was taking has been changed for the better in one 24-hour period by an act of man." https://www.cbsnews.com/news/andy-rooney-on-world-war-ii-d-day-a-day-unlike-any-other-60-minutes-2019-06-06/

  4. With the new point system that was approved, the change only affects schools/teams in the spring sports for this 2 year cycle. Why would IHSAA implement a rule change like that? By doing this, they are only affecting a couple of schools. Why not wait to implement until it can go in affect for all not a couple of schools?

  6. Just leave things the way they are. We get 10 games. Everyone in the tourney. Should look to seeding somehow.

  7. Cathedral is dropping to 4A after accruing 2 points in the last cycle as well (they won regionals in 2017). This has bee discussed in another topic, but no one seems to be too concerned that IHSAA is applying this rule change to winter and spring sports and not to fall sports.

  8. Chrysler Arena is north of 70, the boundary for many between north and south. Never let facts get in the way of taking pot shots.

  9. "we really tried to listen to our fans". That's a first! IU's ticket prices have been cheaper than a lot of other schools. Also glad to see the players names coming back on the jerseys. (They listened to the fans, twice!)

  10. I’m just kind of blown away with how Boonville has handled this whole thing. And this article is the cherry on top. They were in the same boat as Jasper. Both 4A schools with similar enrollments playing in the same sectional with Evansville schools as their competition. They were given a golden opportunity to prepare for said sectional on a yearly basis and declined because of one single contest against a Bosse team who was capable catching anyone(outside the SIAC top tier)off guard in 2018. And surely they knew that had they joined with GS, it would have forced the conference to split into divisions and that they would’ve ended up in the small division?

  11. Jimtown is nothing but pure class. Our crew worked our last regular season game there before we called it quits, and they treated us like kings ... as always. So many great experiences at Knepp over the years.

  12. Very classy move by the Jimmie administration! As a former conference foe, Triton made many trips to Knepp Field. Unfortunately we left with the lower score every single time. There is certainly a mystique around that place. A bunch of tradition there, but nothing to arouse the senses more than those burning leaves! Ahh, good memories despite the game outcomes!

  13. Get rid of the inter squad scrimmages. Make the scrimmage week when we play another team the start of the regular season. The week that's usually the inter squad scrimmage, have it the week we scrimmage another team.

  14. What we know about the group that exposed Fair Oaks Farms' animal abuse: https://www.jconline.com/story/news/2019/06/07/arm-and-fair-oaks-farms-what-we-know-animal-rights-group/1378106001/ https://www.miamiherald.com/latest-news/article221374475.html The scuttlebutt I have read on other sites is that the ARM "investigator" who infiltrated the Fair Oaks Farms operations actually participated in the animal abuse and encouraged it among st his co-workers in order to get more viable video footage. Also if you read the full report (https://animalrecoverymission.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Operation_Fair_Oaks_Farms_Dairy_Adventure.pdf) which btw is 75% copies of various documents, facebook comments, pictures, and google earth screenshots, you come across this minor, but humorous gem: One would think a serious organization like ARM would have it's investigators actually proofread/spellcheck their report for context before publishing it.

  15. https://reason.com/2019/06/04/do-you-feel-safer-knowing-the-fbi-has-access-to-640-million-headshots/ But don't worry, because the FBI has "strict policies" governing the use of such technology, said a spokesman for an agency that is exceedingly well-known for what the American Civil Liberties Union calls an "unchecked abuse of authority" that is exceptionally well-documented in Tim Weiner's 2012 book Enemies: A History of the FBI. While J. Edgar Hoover's legendary contempt for the rule of law and darkly comic episodes such as a failed attempt to discern the lyrics of the 1963 pop song "Louie, Louie" are widely known, the FBI continues to be a dumpster fire when it comes to accountability. A 2018 Time cover story, for instance, was titled "The FBI Is in Crisis. It's Worse Than You Think," and wrote about internal investigations that, among other things, Back to today's congressional testimony about the FBI's access to photos and its rules about using facial recognition technology: ... I don't feel safer, only more concerned about the violation of my civil liberties. As one of the comments to this story states: "it has become hard not to see the FBI as functioning as this country’s secret political police."
