Temp's rankings so far. So you all can see it in one post instead of flipping through the pages.
I’ll go a step farther…two state finals appearances in Enright’s tenure losing to an all-time New Pal team and one of the only teams not to be out of the game by halftime against the Dragons.
Four other seasons ended by the cheat code known as Cathedral and the most consistent team in a conference that is undervalued and growing.
A top 15-20 ranking is completely fair to the Hawks in my opinion…probably not competitive against the top 6A dogs but easily among the best non-6A teams in the state. Play maker at QB in Polston and always solid skill position guys.
Ok, first breaking should have never been a “sport” in the Olympics.
I thought breaking was no longer a thing
I always knew some people should never do it; myself included
Seeing this qualified to GET to Paris, just how bad was the competition in the Australian trials?
All that said, I dare anyone to not 😆

I liked what I saw, defense was flying around like hawks, and the Offense looked good. Although, I think they are still tweaking a few things, I did see few dropped passes, but that is about it. Also, it’s sometimes a little bit tricky to evaluate the inter-squad scrimmages, so the Castle Scrimmage next week will be a lot more telling. I was impressed with the trenches, the OL definitely beefed up over the summer.
That's the problem the smaller schools in 6A face every season. They may be having their best team ever, but then they have to hope all of the mega programs are having an "average" season simultaneously. Unfortunately, it doesn't typically happen that way. Twenty five years ago, one of the three were going to have an up year. Now we are looking at 3 of 6 or 7 having up years.
What about vice versa?
It’s interesting to consider how it would’ve gone had Goebel or Hurley coached last year’s Reitz roster - which was absolutely loaded with athleticism and talent.
Football knowledge, strategy, game coaching aside…those two guys are creatures (and protectors) of their programs’ cultures. And I gather that’s the biggest difference - just as I’m sure they’re both culturally different than rural schools like GS, HH, and Southridge.
But as Hart and Buening have demonstrated, you can certainly build a vibrant winning culture at the rural schools. I’m sure the vibe at those programs is “Whoever we have playing at whatever position, we can play with anybody and we have high expectations of anybody who steps on the field wearing this uniform.”
Then there should never be a 2 time transfer.
But, again, that's fine, put the rule in place. Just don't do because ADULTS are allowed to move jobs lol... they aren't close to the same entity.
Growing up in a small town, high school football (as well as all athletics) is an extremely big deal. Sure, this isn't Texas, where it's a religion (much akin to our basketball), but it does let folks come to meet, bands play, cookout held, and athletic effort recognized.
