We've seen it firsthand at Sheridan the past few years. Guys that weren't going to get playing time at Westfield or Carmel come in and immediately contribute in a big way at Sheridan. The talent pool is bigger at Large schools, so like someone else noted, so it is far more likely that a kid from a large school has a very real chance of playing at a small school.

Bremen??? Leeper resigns, and within a week, they already have a new hire. It must have been like the old lightning dating I did in the '80s.

In all honesty, I didn't know what was going with Leeper, just saw that he had some health issues and was resigning. In the past, there have been people from Bremen stirring the pot about Triton which is why I said what said to Guru. It's more or less irony what I said and what Guru said.

I wouldn't be surprised If Brownsburg repeats in 6A. QB's back. They're going to be the big dog...no pun intended...in the big class.

Coach is still paid to perform (which is wins). I didn't say all things are equal. If Jimmy from Westfield and Jonny from Sheridan are virtually the same kid, then Jonny probably has the advantage from being in the program. If Jimmy is the better football player, he will play. Ultimately, you put your best team on the field. Do you start the senior or the sophomore? You start the better player, right? I'm not a fan of the kids (parents) waiting until last minute to transfer when they realize they aren't starting at Westfield, but it will continue to occur. I think the kid that is just transferring in has to get up to speed on the formations/calls, but when he does (and let's pretend that he is the better football player) he is going to play.

Then perhaps they should contact actual current or past staff members, coaches know how to get ahold of coaches..... If you are perspective coach who wants to apply to this job or any job and you are depending on random nameless message board people to tell you your information such as "dynamics of coaching staff" what are you actually getting? 48 min game on Friday from someone in the stands who has not been to any practice, team meeting, staff meeting, but knows the dynamics because the watched a 48 min HS football game? If that is how you are going about making a decision on whether to apply to this job or any job then best of luck as you will need it. "Dear Admin of NP, My name is Coach XYZ, I spoke to some folks on the GID and seems like there was some staff dymamic issues the last year, can you confirm this, it will help decide if I am going to apply"

My opinion is to use a "timer on" concept like lacrosse used to have to prevent stalling. It eventually just went to a long shot clock. For the most part it is a non-factor as it's around 80 seconds now & resets when a shot on goal occurs (believe that's accurate but could be wrong). The timer on would be a great compromise. No official shot clock, but also prevents absurd stalling from occurring.

Even though they're projected to have their best season in five years? I think a really good coach can be successful in this environment by committing to the kids they recruited. It's hard for me not to root for a guy like that. Swinney isn't going anywhere.
