  1. I understand, but there is a gaping chasm between 3A and 4A....that will be tested this year as we move to 4A. If we can make it out of sectional, and stay healthy, we will see what happens when our 280+ lb two way players play guys that not only have fresh legs but backups to boot. We got a little taste yesterday against a 5A in a scrimmage. They were putting out fresh guys every 5 plays or so, our guys went the distance. We have I think 38 on the varsity roster--they had over 100. I tell my son that it is good for him--builds character.

  2. Used to run down the hallway to be the first in line to get, what we'd consider nasty today, that square nasty pizza in the tin container.

  3. Wow...that is an interesting perspective. Didn't even consider the Patriots would have only 38 guys on their varsiy roster. I couldn't imagine playing OL and DL the entire game. That has to be tough. Having Ruxer at TE and Goldsberry at QB will definately help. They are rated #1 and #3 in the State for 247's composite rankings. For the record, anyone in Indiana who claims to be a HS football fan that hasn't heard of Heritage Hills is just a casual. Concord lost their speedster RB to Purdue. I'm not sure they're returning anything that would indicate they're a Top 25 team.

  4. Two categories of pizza for Temp. Good pizza and GREAT pizza.

  5. I think it's all perspective. I'm probably a lot older than most on the site, but I remember when pizza first showed up in the lunch line and it was like someone made a mistake and allowed forbidden food into the cafeteria. @23andCounting you are correct that it certainly wasn't quality pizza, but given that it was so different from the "porcupines" ... any one old enough to remember those? ... that we marked it on the monthly lunch calendar when it was sent out at the start of the month and awaited that glorious day. As @Irishman said, for those of us where pizza was a novelty item on the menu, I bet we'd probably still eat it today. Just nostalgic! 😃

  6. And given the chance today, we would all likely still eat it.

  7. I am just wondering so I can keep up with the times. $100 handshake has turned into $300? Always wondered what the scale would be..player A runs under 4.5 and weighs X should be paid Z. What formula do they use for NIL and how can I become a scout and get "properly" compensated for saying someone's kid is a 4 star? I'll rate your kid high, help him get 3m deal and i am only asking 100k...what a time to be alive..

  8. Enough teams are in camp now to get this going. And what a great first entry. Of all the Brownsish things to do, this has to be the Browniest. The helmet predicts the season......shit brown. What's worse? the brown helmet or the person falling in during the unveiling? Signs your season might be cursed. Yet another mistake by the lake.

  9. Just a tragedy for Indiana high school sports. Who will endlessly call for conference realignment now?

  10. Kind of an eye opener to me to see no mention of Snider. Personally, this is usually when the Panthers are at their most dangerous. Here is what I know for the 2025 Snider Panthers: 1) They will run the ball down your throat and get downhill quickly, 2) Speed at QB and running ability should be there, 3) Defense will be good, maybe really good, 4) Special teams will be really good

  12. I know Dabo is at Clemson. You didn’t say which schools in either Big 10 or SEC

  13. Not true. A long tradition down there. I just don’t think a public 3A school could hang with the 5A/6A big boys on this list. And I mean that as respectfully as possible. Now, admittedly as someone who has compiled rankings in the past, you eventually have to reward teams for winning games, and I have put them ahead of many of these same programs because I thought they were deserving, but I don’t necessarily think they would beat them head-to-head. A 9-0 HH squad deserves to be ranked ahead of a 5-4 HCC/MIC team in most cases, even though I don’t think they’d match up very well. Just my opinion.

  14. Yes. If they don't I wouldn't send my child to one.

  15. Lol, more than likely. Come to find out it's referred to as Detroit style pizza. Personally, I'll take good ol' Fort Wayne Riverbend or Lexi's pizza every time.

  16. Yes, you should. Another reason why the cookie-cutter approach championed by government schools doesn't work. It is usually just a race to the bottom. Where the bottom is mediocrity at best. FTFY, you educational professional you. But, but don't the charter schools just need more money in order to adequately serve these ESL and Disabled students? That is the government school monopoly argument.

  17. At the end of the day, I don’t understand why it matters what school a kid chooses to attend and use the taxpayer dollars allotted for his/her education. Whether it’s School A or School B, the purpose of the expenditure is their education. And can you elaborate more on this “segregation” point you’re trying to make? You cite racial statistics that roughly a third of the voucher students are minorities. But then go on to say it’s some other form of segregation….by explaining that 70% of the users have household incomes of less than $150k? Where does the segregation come in? Which schools are being segregated…and how? Because neither of the stats you cite suggest segregation by either race or income. In fact, both stats suggest a pretty diverse mix.

  18. Given that the vast majority of vouchers are used by kids that aren't or haven't been in public schools, it's less likely to pull kids out of public schools solely for the idea of athletics. In addition, with the new "free transfer" policy from the IHSAA, that will make the appeal of public-to-private voucher use less likely combined with sports. There are more options in public schools for the ability to move to more competitive programs or less effort situations than the private school options. As we've already seen in other threads, there seem to be quite a few "commitment" announcements that don't mention saints or religious education. Also, with regard to private schools, while they'll certainly be happy to take the voucher money, they aren't likely to tolerate minimal effort in athletic endeavors from "outsiders" ... non-legacy folks ... unless there's a major counter-effort in the classroom as they can't afford someone in the ranks who isn't contributing on the field and not contributing in the classroom ... again, unless there's some legacy connection.

  19. We like the team we have coming back. I hope you are right. Until someone dethrones them this year though, Mac is still the champs. We might get spoiled and get another Week 9 Conference Championship for a second year in a row. The atmosphere for the game last year was a cool one. Would be cool to have it again.

  22. Back in the day, we were just happy on pepperoni pizza day to get a square that had a sliver of pepperoni on it instead of one that was just all cheese.

  23. I would not expect a loss there. Like Florida State, Oklahoma has become a team that is perpetually overrated.

  24. Dabo is a good coach that has accumulated a great record in a bad conference. If he were in SEC or B1G, he would still be a good coach likely top tier and not the best. He is nowhere near Sabanesque.

  25. Well, he's already against NIL and he's dubbed as a major contender for the national title. So there's that. Muda seems to spend a lot of time on a high school football forum talking about a game played by "children."

  26. The east side of Fort Wayne is only 1 hour 15 minutes from the west side of Toledo. Seems like a no brainer to me.
