If a team can't win it all in one class what makes anyone think they can win in a higher class.3 points

Imagine that, Bobref having rabbit ears yet again about officiating. Part of being an official is to NOT have rabbit ears. Criticism comes with the job.2 points

Yep, Pioneer just went back to the state finals running the type of offense that you just described. They kept the first half close by chewing up clock with long drives, and they did the same thing against South Adams. Pioneer is one of the best examples of building a "system" and teaching the fundamentals of it throughout youth league and middle school. I've seen Pioneer field some poor 7th and 8th grade football teams that then went on to win banners at the high school level.2 points

Anomaly. The success factor in it's current form just kind of sucks. NAIA. Put em up against Marian.1 point

Start small. MAC 1st... those Tuesday games are a MOFO though. 🤣🤣🤣1 point

Does Brownsburg move up to the BIG 10 or SEC next year? Man are they good.1 point

IU shared a Big 10 championship in 1967 with Minnesota and Purdue....that was their only co-title in their history. A Big 10 championship would be a huge deal for IU and its fanbase.....for OSU....not nearly as much. Definitely pride on the line, but I think they have bigger things on their mind.1 point

Either Miami and Notre Dame both get in, neither get in, or only Miami gets in. Otherwise, why even play the damn games?1 point

I think that is right. I do think the only one that has no impact on the Irish is the B1G championship.1 point

Isn't as big as we think but no one has won who has been bumped up 2 classes has won state. Exactly my point.1 point

There’s so much wrong with this, I hardly know where to begin: So, every team that doesn’t win a state championship is a failure? That’s beyond absurd. The reason the success factor was adopted was to promote the goal of class football - as far as practicality will allow, like teams should play like teams. The success factor is a crude tool for identifying programs that consistently punch above their weight class, and regrouping them with teams that are (presumably) more on their level. It does not, nor should it, require a team to win a state championship if they prove consistently that they can compete at a higher level. And they prove it by being disproportionately successful in their class. You can quibble with the point levels or the length of the points cycle if you want. But that says nothing about the validity of the basic concept. At bottom, your point seems to be that until a team demonstrates total domination of a class by winning a state championship, they shouldn’t be moved out of their class. You only have to look at Adams Central’s recent history to show how wrong that thinking is. They went to the state finals in 1A 3 straight years, losing every time, but accumulating enough points to bump up to 2A. To your way of thinking, they should have stayed in 1A. But they didn’t, and promptly won the 2A championship the next season (last year), and made it to the 2A semistate this year, losing to the eventual state champ. But to your way of thinking, it was unfair to move them up since they had “unfinished business” in 1A. If you are a program that enjoys disproportionate success in your class throughout the points cycle - however long it is - you should move up. But the idea that you can only be considered such by winning the state championship makes about as much sense as screen doors on a submarine.1 point

Why do people feel that the only barometer for disproportionate success is a state championship?1 point

I agree. Virginia is only a 2.5 point favorite over Duke so not far fetched at all. The bigger problem for the Irish is if BYU beats Texas Tech, both those teams will get in. BYU will not get in if they lose to Texas Tech so that would be a bid stealer if it happens. Other thing to watch is if Alabama loses to Georgia, do they get in with 3 losses ahead of the Irish? If so, big problem for Notre Dame…1 point

Balance of power in Central Indiana has been shifting to the suburbs for a while now. Cascade, Westfield, Brownsburg and New Pal are all in booming suburban areas (and a sizable number of Roncalli's students are from the Greenwood/Whiteland areas).1 point

I will not only defend him... But I will take the knowledge and understanding that he has personally provided me, and impart that to the NEXT generation of officials that care to LEARN. I will not look at those who think that a "license" is an invitation to SUCCESS as their focus... like YOU!1 point

An accurate KNOWLEDGEABLE understanding of officials also comes with the job. With you being in the FW Area, perhaps you should refrain from being an official? Some things just can't be UN- heard from specific individuals. Perhaps time to just be a fan? @Komets27271 point

The 2A game today was like a boxing match where no one was ever able to knock the other out. A tale of two defensive juggernauts really. Was beyond impressed at how well the BC defense played against a team that was that much bigger than them in size. Those goal line stands were the stuff of legend. Can’t say enough about how well Brownstown played today. They made every person in this community, beyond proud of them. Congratulations to the Braves on an amazing season. Here’s to next year!1 point

So two teams bump up without a state title to show for it. Lol, only in Indiana.1 point

Although Pioneer came up short they did do something they’ve never done before having all 3 RB’s plus QB eclipse 1,000 yds this season. Not bad for old school offense FB 1600 RHB 1168 QB 1087 LHB 10511 point

Nah, that’s a long winded conversation. Anyone with a functional brain knew it was coming down to these four teams. LN was on the outside looking in due to their two playmakers but their early season home loss to Fishers and lack of overall discipline was evident from September on. I’ll even go a step farther…the four teams mentioned will be the teams in the conversation next year, and the next, and the next…1 point
