  1. Risking racism and a “misaligning of culture” to save a few bucks on gas? So brave. Just publicly admit it was a mistake and kiss and make up already…the kids are suffering.

  2. Doesn't qualify, but worth noting: Russ Isaacs won football in 1992 as one of the smaller schools in the largest division and had the highest winning percentage among all active coaches during his reign. His wrestling teams went 84-6-1 over and 8 year period. Those are some pretty sick numbers.

  3. I could see the reasoning (not that I agree) if you're a 5a school, but certainly not 6a. All 5a & 6a high caliber programs should want to play Center Grove.

  4. I don't think Coach May will mind... Brownstown will bring back 7 starters on offense and 8 on offense, but basically all of our "rotators" return, as well. We bring back 75-80% of the guys we played last year, essentially. Offensively we lose Carson Darlage (6'5 215lbs QB), who the last two seasons combined--340 carries 2200 yards 34 TDs on the ground. The plan is for him to be replaced by Micah Sheffer, who will be a SO. OL-- there will be some reshuffling in spots with the added depth from the JV guys moving up. Last season we replace 10 starters offensively, so there was a lot of newness with this group up front last year. We hope the experience and year in the weight room pay dividends. We expect to be better here and have more depth. Off-skill-- everyone is back. Engle, Hutcheson, Zike, Tiemeyer, Garrison, Killey, and Fritz will all share the rock. Another group that was new last year and took some lumps, and we hope to see some strides because of it this season. DL--- should be the strength of our team. Burcham-Jones+Branaman will be 3yr starters who have been excellent so far in their careers. Hutchinson started every game as a FR last season (6'5 280) and played well. We will add a player or two to these already-established 3 and I think we have a very solid top 7-8 guys here. LBers--- we replace MLB with Owen Wischmeier, whose brother Eli, was a North/South All Star. Both OLBers are back--- Hutcheson+Killey who both had big games against Triton Central in the sectional. DBs-- everyone is back and another position group we hope to have more depth at this season with some JV guys moving up/getting some guys back healthy. Our kicker, Bryce Peak is back and will be a SR. Last season is the youngest team I have coached while an asst at Brownstown. (2013) and I'm pretty sure it's the youngest team Coach May has had here. Last season we played 5 different FR on one side of the ball (at times), along with playing 5 SOs, regularly.... couple that with a whole JR class (besides 2) that did not see the varsity field as SOs 2 years ago... it was interesting at times lol I would say this group has the potential to be good, but doing it and saying it are two different things. As always, super excited to get to work with the dudes later this month and we hope to hit the ground running with the experience we bring back.

  5. Biden Has Added 220 Million Hours of Regulatory Paperwork Since His Inauguration: https://reason.com/2023/05/01/presidential-paperwork/ A liberal who loves big government. Color me shocked.

  6. MD has 13 in wrestling and 2 in football under Coach Goebel -a mark that is unlikely to ever be surpassed.

  8. I thought the same initially , until I read an article that IU fans should consider Walker and 1 for 1 trade for Geronimo. From that prospective I like the addition he adds front line depth. I watched Highlights from COVID season he was a solid contributor (think more athletic Race) averaged 10ppg 5rpg . Seems good enough to guard positions 3-5 which is HUGE for IU. Kopp got Much better in that aspect this season BUT I thought that's where we struggled against teams with guys like that (i.e. Kris Murray) In other Portal/recruiting news , IU joins a host of Schools (St. Johns, Kansas, and UofL) as a new group of finalist for 5-Star Duke Decommit Mackenzie Mgbako Lights out shooting swing man is EXACTLY what IU needs on this roster, man if IU could land this kid I would NEVER questions the recruiting ability of Woodson and his staff again LOL. Also IU was one of first in contact with Dingle 6'3 transfer guard from Penn. Love this kids game after watching Highlights, and when Penn played power 5 conference teams? he average 22ppg to go along with his 2nd in the NCAA 23ppg for the whole season. with NBA goals hopefully IU can sell him on look what he did for JHS .

  9. I believe its people like you listening to people like you! Cry me a river, poor Frankfort has it rough. I am not sure that is a great argument anymore. Every community has fallen on hard times. Let's take a look at your alma mater, Maconaquah, for instance. Economically that area was on top of the world in the 80's with great athletes. The base was booming, Square D was in full swing, GM and Chrysler were doing well, and farmers were struggling a little. The schools athletics were ok. Nothing super special, but they were always competitive and produced some top athletes. In the 90's the base starts a transition and GM and Chrysler start slowing down. By the 2000's things start getting rough. The base is closing, GM is a shadow of its former self, and Chrysler takes a dip. Square D lays people of and eventually closes by 2019 or so. But somehow a school goes from something like 4% free and reduced lunch to around 70% free and reduced and we don't hear any crying out of them! Cass would be in a very similar situation. There was no industry keeping those communities afloat or breeding new life into the area, and yet they keep chugging along and doing ok in sports. I suppose you can bring up the higher Latino numbers in Frankforts area, but those numbers have risen at Logansport. Yet they are not complaining! Their sports aren't dominating, but they are't lobbying for a move to a 1A conference either. Then again, maybe your right...

  10. Or not. Some coaches will shy away from Center Grove because they don't believe there is much benefit from losing by 3+ touchdowns. I personally don't believe in that. Every program should know what the benchmark is, otherwise, how will you attain it?

  11. We all know that the talent which Northrop has, routinely is in the stands on Friday nights. It's inexcusable that past the days of Matt Stinson this program has been an outlier in 6A. They absolutely deserve to be placed firmly in the "considered" conference, if no reason other than to: Elevate the recent shame they have provided within 6A. I am a Quentin Brown fan...I think he may.make them relevant to 6A. I truly believe that HE can get some of those 'track stars' to participate in FB.
