  1. What was the IHSAA's main argument in making the Success Factor every 2 years, as opposed to the IFCA's plan of every 4 years?
  2. Those were down Chatard teams in 2016 and 2017, compared to their teams of the early-mid 2000's and early 2010's. I'm sure they'll be jumping for joy if they have to play Danville in LOS.
  3. Other than NP, Cathedral, and CE, has a team bumped up due to the Success Factor ever won or made it to the State Championship in their new, higher class?
  4. Tentatively, they take the place of Zionsville, and will be in a sectional with Avon, Brownsburg, and Pike. Pretty darn tough sectional!
  5. Didn't he break the Delta squat record as a freshman?
  6. Yep, the offensive juggernaut, Zionsville, that put up 44 against Brownsburg, had the leading rusher in 6A, and put up the most points against Avon this year (28).
  7. I'm thinking BD by 7-10. One of the best defenses in the state, coupled by an electric duo in Hassel and Gipson will take the Giants to LOS.
  8. I'm genuinely intrigued by this prediction... BD hasn't given up more than 14 points since CG (accounting for offensive turnovers returned for TDs and the Warren OT game). What makes you think CG and a hobbled Steele will be able to put up against 28 against one of the best defenses in the state?
  9. Good point. Just hard to REALLY know when you're dealing with 15-18 year old kids. How has their stud RB from the past few years been this year? That dude makes some incredible cuts and is able to really make an explosive play out of nothing.
  10. Has New Pal faced as good of a QB like Edwards in recent years? With the amount of man coverage they play, will NP be able to contain Edwards and the play-making ability of the Irish WR's?
  11. Great points. I just remember some 4A and 5A schools, during those '10-'15 teams, thought that their teams would beat Cathedral in the tournament and it usually turned into being a huge blowout. Not saying that that will happen against NP AT ALL because NP is one of the best teams in the state regardless of class (as opposed to some of those 4A-5A schools during that time) but it just seems like an awfully familiar situation for Cathedral.
  12. 6A: Zionsville was able to surprise Bburg in the upset of the tourney so far. Can they keep it rolling against BD even with several injuries to key playmakers? 5A: Can Bloomington South beat Floyd Central and then shock Cathedral/New Pal after such an emotional game for those two teams? 4A: Can Roncalli beat MV and then upset Mooresville or Evansville Memorial? I'm thinking no but if Roncalli can get Memorial at home, crazy things happen at Roncalli Stadium in the tournament. 3A: How likely of a shot does Marian have against Chatard? Based on Chatard's schedule and scores, it seems like a slim chance but who knows come tourney time. 2A: Does HC unseat the defending champ? Surprisingly, all my darkhorses are still alive. Should have sent in a Tourney Pick em lol.
  13. How does this year's Cathedral team compare to their 4A/5A juggernauts from 2010-2015?
  14. But I thought the MIC was on a doomsday spiral and the HCC was on the rise lol? All jokes aside, 6A is even more WIDE open than anticipated. 1-8 Noblesville took 9-0 Homestead to the wire and should have won honestly. Does Warsaw, Merrillville, Westfield, or Homestead have enough fire power to upset Carmel? Is there even a big-time favorite to choose from out of the South?
  15. And even more of an edge to the players on the field who rock no sleeves in this cold weather. Nothing irritates me more than starters wearing hoodies under their jerseys lol.
  16. The MIC schedule has done no favors for Warren and trying to find a Week 9 opponent. I know everyone enjoys the CG vs WC Week 1 game, but I bet their coaches don't enjoy having to play a non-conference game Week 9. The last three years WC has played Columbus (OH) Sycamore (W-37-6), Bowling Green (KY) (W-62-7), and Detroit River Rouge (W-24-17).
  17. Does DC still run a mix of Midline and Spread, or are they all spread at this point?
  18. Haha the mysterious smokey woods may be the best way I've ever seen the Roncalli Woods described. Absolute buttkicking by HH ON THE ROAD against the defending 3A champs. Shut Roncalli out if I remember correctly.
  19. In 6A, can Pike or Zionsville surprise Avon/Brownsburg after their huge sectional opener? 5A: Bloomington South..Played a pretty decent schedule and have a manageable sectional and even more of a manageable potential regional opponent. 4A: Agree wholeheartedly with the Rebels as a darkhorse. Would potentially face Mt. Vernon/Pendleton Heights in Regionals, and then face rival East Central or Mooresville in Semistate. 3A: Mishawaka Marian? It seems like Chatard or WL's northern bracket to lose but could Marian pull off a shocker in Semistate? 2A: Heritage Christian... They haven't exactly played a murderer's row of a schedule but they do have a solid, young coach in Coach Ray.
  20. That's a pretty difficult road, even in their own sectional. Those three sectional teams, including HSE (big W over BBurg on Friday), have the potential to knock off Carmel. And are Homestead/Laf Jeff/Merrillville as good as advertised to shock the Hounds?
  21. Is it the first time ever the top 3 teams in 6A (old 5A too) weren't from the MIC? Going to be a chaotic 6A Tourney.
  22. Same here. But Southport also has a high Burmese population, so why are they not affected like PM? Coaching, less athletes, resources, administration?
  23. Does the high Burmese population lead to higher enrollment but less football participation? Even Scott Marsh's best record at PM was 5-5. Southport's sustained success makes you wonder why PM can't be successful tho...
  24. How come the MaxPreps rankings are never really discussed? Don't they account for out of state opponents?
