  1. 1. Didn't the announcers let you know that in HS FB any accepted penalty (offensive or defensive) results in an untimed down in that situation? 2. As an official, we don't care about you as a fan being "informed".... If you want that, watch Network/Cable FB. This is HS FB. 3. It is not new, perhaps you haven't focused on some crew's communication. I can GUARANTEE you that the AC/Busco crew this Friday will have radios in their ears. 😀
  2. WHAT??? I think that the best arbiters of rule interpretations are ALWAYS "the announcers"... They have studied those pesky rules ad nauseum I bet.
  3. Colts WIN if Flacco is QB1. Time to just tell the darn truth. Flash is fine, but I prefer cool/calm/professional leadership at that position!
  4. @WestfieldRocks Go back to the 2021 State Final vs. Center Grove. #35 a Defensive player (for Westfield) in the 4th quarter loses his helmet. Not as the result of a penalty. He continues to participate in the play. He is then is assessed a 15 penalty for illegal participation BECAUSE he continued to participate with improper equipment, and participated in the tackle. Why would the play be whistled "dead"?
  5. No the play is not "dead". But I'd have to see the play again to give a better assessment of THAT (my) answer. Honestly, that has nothing to do with the eventual call by the officials. Again, play is NOT dead. In every sense, we (officials who have weighed in) all agree that the penalty assessed against Danville was incorrect. I really don't know what more is being accomplished by continuing this beratement of the crew. They missed the call in the heat of the moment, these things happen. Any player has to leave the field if their helmet comes off during play for one play... So long as it is NOT the result of a penalty committed against them. It also is not a penalty in HS football to remove your helmet prior to play (or arriving at the sideline).... It's a rather dumb thing to do though!
  6. To be up front and honest with you.... Don't show up to a lower level game and expect an "NFL/Collegiate game". (we are) Trying to keep the game going, the clock running, and players 'playing'. Friday nights are...(a)TOTALLY different thang! More about teaching and telling them what they can/can't do and should/shouldn't do to have them ready for the bright lights to come when its Monday/Thursday and Saturday.
  7. 1. NO, it should have started on the ensuing snap of the ball. 2. This has been lobbied for in the ensuing years, so a change may be coming at some point..... The R, was incorrect in starting the clock in this situation.
  8. Do you honestly believe that the logistics of doing this would be "doable"? You would have to have the "state" cancel contracts for all/most officials (many signed YEARS in advance); Then theoretically assign them to games. In certain situations, you would have schools having to travel extended lengths in order to comply with the classification limits that would be in place in certain areas of the state. What would YOU think is "easier to do"? What you are proposing? OR just seeding the post-season tournament? I think the LATTER.
  9. Hey, hey.... there weren't THAT many penalties called. The ones that happened, were just at inopportune times.
  10. So a few schools in say, the Summit Athletic Conference couldn't play (by edict) the schools that are classified as 6A within that conference? And with the SF, are you using THAT as the barometer....or the the original classification that they 'would' have without the SF?
  11. (I've) no idea of what you are getting at in the 'metropolitan area' that encompasses Gibson County? There aren't a lot of options there. Seems to be a much LARGER Indiana County situation with regards to school "choice" and the detachment of public school funding to the local school system(s) in the other more diverse systems.
  12. Getting to the HEART of the "school choice/voucher" thing aren't we? Welfare for those who want a Tesla, paid for with the monies that go those who drive a 20 year old Chevy....
  13. No comment on the "questionability" of the end zone catch. Just giving the basics of the reasons for a re-try of the FG.
  14. The ball was moved up 1 yard, and they (apparently) felt that they had and could win the game and eliminate ALL confusion at that point.
  15. They say the Maconaquah/Rochester match up is @ Maconaquah because of the TRC scheduled rotation
  16. I thought that Southwood did ALL they could do tonight. Proud of the YOUNG MEN that the Knights have. And I do mean "young". Freshman all over the place. They battled as best as best as possible. May take a couple of seasons, but they will trend upwards!
  17. Not to beat a dead horse. But after seeing an on field video. It also looks like a Linesman on the goal post, whistled it dead during the play, with CC in possession of the ball Looked like the 5 to me with on field video that I saw... not the 4
  18. Ball then gets spotted at the ORIGINAL spot of the 4th down play, NOT at the 4 yard line. It was a "loose ball" inadvertent whistle". Clearly CC would have elected to re-do the down. But they would not get to advance it. If so, then they are saying the down counted and would be giving them a "5th down" for the re-do. They got the re-try at the wrong spot.
  19. Being there and seeing it up close, I was going to say that you've lost it. But upon seeing the Sectional teams; It sure looks like CP in #1 and (IMO) Carroll (throwing the ball all over place) in #2 that 'should" be right there. You might be right on point, GR85
  20. Welp, that's a very SPECIFIC assessment of how you view the Panther passing game...
  21. Just saw the game via SportsMichiana ... looking forward to the 3rd consecutive game they will broadcast. Exciting!
  22. Yes Sir!!
  23. Plymouth over Warsaw?? Any information on this one?
  24. 2nd Longest HS FG in Indiana History, last Friday night......
