The Senate's new "Border Bill" as it is called......
Impartial_Observer replied to swordfish's topic in OOB v2.0's OOB Forum
For reference, heard on the radio today the Marine Corps’ budget for FY23 was 67 billion. -
At what point in any of the training you’ve had did they talk about when a good time to be flashing your weapon would be? A simple yes would have sufficed. Look I went to school with Jim, I know him well, and personally I like him, did he intend any ill will towards the students, no. Was it another in an endless line of bad decisions, yes.

It’s an interesting and as I stated it’s either the best pizza or the worst you ever ate. I got one in Knightstown one time and could get two pieces choked down. Rumor has it it’s dependent upon which brother’s line your franchise came from. Plainfield still had the train in there last time I was in there. I ate at another one that had a train as well, but I can’t remember where. Some have been around long enough to remember the GID Publicity Tour back in 05, the Seymour stop was at Pizza Palace, which at that time was no longer using Pizza King products, but makes a similar style pie. TA was there, Paul Condry, they were selling copies of the GID.

Pizza King is truly a Hoosier iconic brand. One must be careful which Pizza King you frequent. It will either be the best pizza you ever ate, or the worst. Depends on which commissary they use. Cagney’s in Shelbyville may be the best Pizza King in the state.

2024 Turf and Beyond
Impartial_Observer replied to btownqbcoach1's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Soccer tends to have the same issues as bat and ball sports, how the ball “scoots” off the turf. I think the infill is slightly different than football to slow it down. -

Everyone knows your position, you don’t need to remind us every time someone makes a post in this thread, that’s kinda trolling. -
I won’t give anything away, but his existence on the show takes an unexpected turn. I highly recommend finishing it. One of the best series endings ever. I think there is as much understood as what is said.

I believe every public school board in the state must face voters every four years, so……I’m guessing they don’t really give a shit what you think Muda. -
23-24 DOE Enrollments
Impartial_Observer replied to HoopsCoach's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Oddly enough it hasn’t really. Girls roster is dominated by Hispanics, boys not so much. I think our pipeline of German exchange students has helped the boys’ cause though. -

23-24 DOE Enrollments
Impartial_Observer replied to HoopsCoach's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I feel your pain, Seymour has always been a very static enrollment, between 1100-1200 at the HS. Given our current “migration” situation locally, leadership is expecting us 6A by the next count. Unfortunately Hispanics are not big Football participants. Last figures I heard were nearing 40% of the enrollment K-12. -
Per some conversations with people in the know, I don’t see Scottsburg replacing their surface anytime in the foreseeable future.

New Travel Rule - Who Is Using It?
Impartial_Observer replied to Bobref's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
There are kids at the local school who participate in band so they can go to Disney World to participate in band day. -
Was Royals taken?

I’m just catching up on stuff I missed when my kids were around. I had a daughter with a softball habit and a son who was going to be a rock star.

I agree with everything you said. I heard in the radio this morning they were playing, and I really feel like this is a must win for IU. Then I immediately realized that if IU is playing tonight, my wife will be watching that and I can get back to my Justified binge. No clue what happens to IU, but it’s a win/win for me.

Speculating on the future of college sports
Impartial_Observer replied to Irishman's topic in The Next Level
All it’s going to take for the NCAA to fold, is for two of the P5 decide to start their in BB tournament. Call me a romantic, I will never apologize for being a supporter of education based sports. Granted big time FB and MBK are a far cry from that. But let’s look at college sports as a whole. March Madness pays the tab for everything. When the NCAA loses their MBK tournament so long to the NCAA LAX, wrestling, WBK, SB, BB, VB championships in D1, D2, and D3. The vast majority of college athletes aren’t one and done and skipping classes come spring semester. How many of those kids don’t even get a college education were it not for athletics? NCAA is gone, nothing more than a pro minor league. I see big changes looming on the horizon. If you don’t think it’s coming to a HS near you, you need to get your head out of the sand. -

Don’t be dragging the high life into this. -
And you’ve hit on the point where IU and I parted ways. Sampson is a cheater. IU knew that when they hired him and he came in and continued cheating. Izzo’s post Northwestern rant was spot on. The guys IU is recruiting may well be four or five star AAU guys, but in what limited time my wife has forced me to watch this crap, they’re soft, they’re not competitors, and they’re lazy. Mediocrity is the bar at Bloomington and it has been since the Glass administration.
